It’s always shocking to me that every single chiefs game I’ve ever watched that he’s played in, at some point I’ve said “how did he get that wide open?” at least thrice.  I’m starting to think all the coaches in the NFL have tried everything and he might actually just be that good. Like GOAT good.

That said, the only option is to double up on him. But you can’t do that every play and expect to get a ton of pressure on Mahomes and/or leave a spy.

In short, I have no ***** clue. Thanks for attending my Ted Talk.

He’s very good at pushing off with out it looking like a blatant push off. Does it with his elbow a lot.

It is weird to me that this article confirms every McD conspiracy theories as true .

    13 seconds.

    Offense sucking with Dorsey.

    Dabs leaving.

Yet guys still signed extensions. Yet he has still been able to hire really good coaching staffs.

I still feel like this is a reporter with an axe to grind as someone pointed out.

Outside of Brady who has he hired that is really good? They’re all his friends and Brady was coming off a poor showing in Carolina.

I get the cap concern.  But if the Bills want to pony up the bucks, it isn’t as bad as it looks. Certainly the team wants to stay relevant, especially with the new stadium season tix (PSL’s) looming.

One thing to remember is cutting players isn’t a zero sum game.  Gotta fill that position with another warm body.  And to stay relevant, those warm bodies need to be good players who may not come cheap.  Filling the roster via the draft is a good way to manage the cap with cost effective rookie contracts.  But impossible to know if those rookies will make meaningful impact.

I’ve always felt an older or near the end of their contract players should have their replacement drafted a year or two before a decision has to be made(Bernard is a perfect example) That way they can learn from the guy they’re replacing and not be forced into action while their head is still spinning. Gives the coaches time to evaluate if they’re good enough to be the replacement and learn their strengths and weaknesses without hurting the team on the field.

Ok Cuse fans what are your thoughts on the hiring of Fran Brown? I'm quite skeptical, I know he's an up and Comer but never even been a coordinator.  I know he's supposedly a great recruiter, and will have the Georgia coattails, but PSU and ND hired GREAT recruiters,  how's that working out for them. When I saw Dan Mullin rumored over the weekend I was excited. Maybe it will work out well.

UB hired a pretty good recruiter that wasn’t a coordinator. It’s working out really well for them.

I love both these guys as role players, and have been a fan of the swagger they bring to the field in the past. Loved when they got in Taylor Lewan's head so bad in Tennessee they baited the Titans OL into back to back flags and killed their drive which sealed the game for us.

But this crap just shows how little grip McD has on the team. Besides JP's undisciplined play all over the field and getting flags thrown on himself instead of baiting others into reacting and getting flags, no one on the team should be distracted from the game enough to engage with hecklers like this.

Where is the professionalism? Where is the "Process"? Humble and Hungry?

The video in the tweet proves nothing. The game is what 3-4 hours long and that only shows a min or two.

The difference this time is that we have solid ownership and a franchise QB.  This will be a coveted team.  Any top candidate would be interested to coach here now.

15 years ago years ago, Mike Shanahan didn't want to coach here.  If it were today and these circumstances, he would accept now.  You can convince your wife to move to Buffalo if you have Josh Allen.

Could def be wrong but wasn’t the rumor Shanahan was gonna come but his wife said no.

Edit. Could be a couple coaches I’m thinking of. I’ll look for a link and edit again.

could only find stuff about us interviewing him. Nada about why we didn’t.

edit no3. Reading comprehension… smh I didn’t catch the wife part at bottom. I’m an idiot. My bad

Why just a couple people? Refs are protected for this exact reason. They get death threats. Fans think they were paid off if they make a bad call.

One thing I’ve always wondered is why no one has created a PFF like site for officiating. Maybe I should, lol. It would get a lot of clicks.

Why just a couple people? If you’re trying to keep something quiet do you tell every single person you come across or do you tell the least amount as possible?

Not sure why people say it can't be done.  It's happened in baseball and the NBA.  Of course it could happen in the NFL.

People don’t want to believe they’ve been tricked.

The problem with fixing anything is keeping people quiet. You’d need thousands of people to stay quiet. It’s not happening. Thats why I don’t believe it’s possible.

Heck, look what happened to Michigan. When too many people know about something it’ll always get out.

Why would you need thousands of people to stay quiet? You would need the refs and maybe a couple people in the league office. The players and coaches get in trouble if they call out the refs at all. That’s a huge red flag.

Agreed that it would be way too complex. Way too many moving pieces. These people prove themselves to be regularly incompetent, you can't then assume that they're such maniacal geniuses that they could pull something like that off in front of millions. I think that's largely what you're seeing with the refs - just regular every day incompetence and stupidity.

Although with the extreme rise in gambling you could get a few more bad apples Tim Donagy style. Not enough to fix anything, but lone wolf enough to do some weird damage to a game's outcome.

That right there is the easiest way to do it. You already believe it.

I think it’s possible that officials ref games in such a way to make sure they stay close for long enough. Which really wouldn’t take some sort of conspiracy theory. You can call penalties on nearly every play and in doing so you can stop drives or start them with very little indication outside of “they’re only human”. It was certainly in the NFL’s interest for this to be a showcase event. It’s entertainment after all. As far as a literal attempt to work the calls towards one side, I don’t see the purpose. In this case the side that got the help was the side that needed it to stay close until they no longer did and magically the whistles slowed down.

Few years ago there was a lot of blow outs and people weren’t watching the full games. Goodell mentioned something about it. Since then the officiating has been a complete joke with a bunch of calls to keep teams in the games and have them go down to the wire. They’re most definitely influenced by the refs.
