Didn’t notice him on the field but did see a couple nice blocks from Ford.

I haven’t watched it again but IIRC the player to get mad about in this play is Murphy. I want to say he was celebrating when the ball was still on the ground

Nobody is perfect. Even the best qbs miss open receivers. But how many of them look right at the open receiver and don’t throw? It seems to happen every week with Josh. He’s making his job harder than it needs to be. He can easily make the throws that are needed and usually made them at some other point in the game. There’s replays from the endzone so you can see his eyes. Looks right at the open receiver his movements seem to indicate he’s gonna throw it to them but he stops for some reason when he still has an open window to complete the pass. If he cleaned that up along along with the deep ball we would be blowing teams out. But I guess wanting him to be better is ridiculous.

I’d say his floor is more Bortles or EJ than JP.

Is it really a threat when he’s completed 2 of 31 with only 10 being on target? He may have a big arm but chances are that deep ball isn’t going to be anywhere near the WR. Its not the defense focusing on it its allen can’t throw it where anyone can come down with it. The receivers are getting open but the ball flies 20 yards over their head. He seems to struggle when the receivers are running vertically at full speed. He throws it as hard as he can on a frozen rope and there’s no chance to run under it. When the receivers are running more horizontally he seems to be more accurate. The foster deep ball vs jags and lions last year foster was running across the field and he threw it to a good spot

The coaching staff doesn’t tell him to not throw it to open receivers. He had Beasley wide open earlier in the game for at the very least a huge gain and most likely a td and threw it elsewhere. John brown open for a first down and threw it short to a covered Knox. Duke running open for a big gain but threw it to brown who still got a decent gain but a decent throw to duke should have been 6. He’s shown that he can make each of these throws but there’s sometimes where he just refuses to do it and I have no idea why. He made them all later in the game with no issue.

Allen missing open receivers makes me wonder if he will ever develop

I’m not sure of the dolphins system but he’s pretty good at getting the ball out quick.
