  1. Why would he give up a niche that he works so hard to create? Just to go on one team? I don't think so because then, like the bills front office, he's hanging his hat and his future solely on Josh Allen.
  2. I pray we have. Just nothing I've seen in his career or game tapes shows that we have. Maybe they can fix it -fix his footwork, fix his processing speed, fix why his QB rating dips by 50% when he's blitzed, and life will be dandy. I sure hope so. So to your point, I don't know if we have or not. I just think the other choice we had would have been better suited and had such a resume. I've seen a lot of QB projects come and go at One Bills Drive and to me this is another one. I really hope it works.
  3. I've lived through all of them. Even Rob Johnson. This was worse in my book because the expectation was so high. EJ we knew was flawed and the quote on quote slow eyes comment really bothered us. JP was an intriguing and we were excited about moving up for him, but that quickly died. This time around there was such excitement building up around this pick, that for those who really didn't care for Allen, the dissapointment was huge. Is what it is.
  4. I would put the Buffalo and a helmet cocking the football with a big arm so he can throw in Buffalo weather.
  5. Radio station seldom break news. Their staff lives indoors. It's usually the newspapers and wires that have that access. Radio is where people ate going to talk about
  6. It's a terrible sales job. I remember the team at the time saying the same thing about JP losman. I'm sick of this weather strong-arm crap. I just want a quarterback who can make a God damn pass on a slant or seam route and actually lead the receiver and be accurate. I didn't think it was asking for that much.
  7. At the end of the day we still end up with Allen, the last QB I wanted. So what difference does it make?
  8. Not entirely true. Rochester fan base was energized by the SJF training camp move and the So. Ontario fan base grew. He was a solid marketer, just not a great football guy. I wouldn't denigrate his success because of what he did in a role he should if never been in. Sorry he trashed his gig with misconduct. Self inflicted wound Russ.
  9. Let's hope I never gets to that. But I tend to agree with you. If they keep doing other things right they may be be able to absorb a setback. My fondest hope is that the kid succeeds and we succeed. But you nailed it when it came to Whaley. He doubled down when he should have cut bait.
  10. I would agree with that. A lot of people think he's going to be a starter and I don't get that.
  11. Maybe I'm in the mimoritu but I just don't see a lot of value in Kerley. The guy has been spotty at best. I think they're going to wait until they see what Zay Jones has going for him before they make a move at wide receiver. At this point I'd rather have a right tackle.
  12. Hey, he's our guy now so I'm going to support him. But the sudden transformations I'm reading is reminiscent of St Paul's conversion. Really I think I need more than a couple days to backtrack 100% of the numerous red flags I see flying.
  13. The same mistake in terms of the individuals that they fall in love with. Big strong guys who look like quarterbacks who are projects. Sound familiar? So our FO chose potential and they will live or die by it. I hope they will emerge brilliant and Allen is the next Elway. All of us deserve it. Sitting here now I'm hopeful, but with scant expectations.
  14. The OP is of the school that if one declares something long and loud enough, people will believe it, or maybe he will at least. But hope springs eternal. So at least we can agree on, go Bills!
  15. I get it was different regimes. But if you're a fan and you see the franchise make the same mistake over and over again it gets a little old. All we can do is wait and see and hope for the best. I am a McBeane fan, just really don't get this pick.
  16. Lighten up Francis. A good soldier bitches. I hate the Allen pick as well. To me he looks like another in the long line of big arms, high ceiling, low processing project busts this franchise seems to love, Rob Johson, JP Losman, EJ... All us Allen detractors are resigned to it and we all hope this pick won't set us back 4 years. If Allen tanks, it's over for McBeane and I would hate that. I hope for the best but I'm not pumping sunshine on this pick and if I explain why, I don't need to have my fanhood challenged after 55 years of following this team.
  17. I agree. To me it is not an elite defense, but a solid D that needs a lot to go right to be effective. LBs particularly.
  18. It will matter for McBeane as they are legends if Allen booms and out if he busts.
  19. Second year as a starter and head and shoulders better than anything we had. He's just going to get better and better.
  20. Ditto. I don't like the pic, but I don't want to see this kid crash and burn. Bring him along correctly and let's see what we got. AJ will be fine this year.
  21. I'll get one for my nephew to go along with his Losman, EJ and Tyrod jerseys.
