    Exactly. Star and Tremaine and our middle D is exposed and soft on run. After telling us all week long that they're going to solve a couple of things and fix that issue, the first half was an eye-opener. They needed a steady diet of run blitzes to stop the run which is not sustainable in my book.

    I hope so, we're struggling against bad teams at home now we have to go on the road.

    Yeah running run blitzes against the rookie QB. Let's see how that works against a real quarterback. Our run defense is truly suspect and soft.

    I agree, Josh is taking 3 seconds to get rid of the ball which is the longest of any QB in the league. You can't blame that on the OL.

    We disagree. You're obviously a Star fan, I obviously am not. I believe time will back up my position. We're paying top dollar for little production. It's a position that needs an upgrade next year desperately.

    Data shows that data can show anything you want. The fancy stat boys treat it like a religion. We're 5-2, deal with it.

    He said they need to play better. Meh, KB was brutal. Besides Star is Sean's guy. When Harrison was healthy Star's playing time was dropping precipitously. I'll go by that.

    A healthy salary cap is an accomplishment especially when you were in a black hole because of past decisions. Schopp likes to here himself talk. Reminds me of Mario Cuomo. Listening to either of them is like having your blowhard uncle over for Thanksgiving.

    Right because of the steep DT talent we have to replace him and Sean usually doesn't back his players in public? He's all we have at 1 tech and Sean's not going to call him out. Sorry thoseare not my main factor in the conclusion.

    That's true but this board is using the Athletic piece as proof Star is a "space-eater" doing a fine job.

    So Joe B's All 22 the past several weeks where he pointed out (with examples) of Star's lame play and being outplayed by Harrison Phillips, is now suddenly reversed? And after a game where the middle defense gave up 200-plus yards on the ground. I don't buy it.

    The same Joe who made it clear for the past several weeks that he wasn't doing his job. Must have got to talkin' to by McBeane. I'm not saying Star is the only problem, I'm saying is that he is not anywhere close to living up to the what he's getting paid. 200 + yards up the gut is just awful. Agree, sort of like watching the Cody Ford RT experiment.

    I'm beginning to feel this way myself. The guy is a physical freak as a coverage machine, but he's meh as a run-stopper. Can't seem to get off blocks. Why not play him where his strength is?

    He's a waste of space. Gets beat consistently 1:1 and gets pushed around. He has zero pursuit laterally and once pushed aside the RB is gone and the OL is on our LBs. Standing up on the snap, getting pushed around and watching the play behind you is not a space eater.

    I'm done defending Star. Swallow our pride and that whopper salary and move on. The guy is as effective as putting a parking cone out there.

    RB is the last thing we need. A big DT, new RT, receiver, edge, now we're talking.

    No reason we can't blitz more to create pressure ala the Pats. Stopping the run up the gut is going to be the bigger issue. DT and MLB issues need to be resolved.
