  1. That's a lot of DB's but that's a hard area to cut. I don't mind multiple threads like this as one dedicated one gets too cumbersome to follow. Your list is reasonable, but I don't think Kelsay survives if Ellis keeps playing like he has. He's got more speed than Kelsay by a long shot. I'm checking practice out on Wednesday. As for other "here's my roster" lists that follow this, guess away but PLEASE don't say Marshawn is not on the final roster because we traded him for a starting LT. That will instantly dissolve any facade that you know what you are talking about.
  2. The article is reasonable until proven otherwise. Good news on Green. They think he can be okay if he cuts the penalies down. I just can't escape the fact that, as PTR puts it, we one 6 games with a O line of the week last year. I gotta believe we will imrprove this year.
  3. Who's doing that? The guy is just saying here's what we got and make the best of it. It's okay to think positive. Bottom line is we are not going to rebuild in a year. Too many holes. Chan and Buddy are building they way they want to and that doesn't include a huge upgrade in OT this year. You look at that and say Christmas is ruined and all is lost. Some of us look at it and say maybe Chan can come up with plans to minimize that deficiency and still be a viable offense. It's not pollyanna to think that possilbe. I have reservations but I'm not going to spend every post p*ssing and moaning about it.
  4. Umm, Hamden = Warner - a chance? Don't think so.
  5. Ratliff looking good. Guess 300 lb NT's can be effective.
  6. We're talking football - not life and death. The post is saying think positive because that's what we got. Green, Meredeth and Bell - that's how we're going to roll Bro so deal with it. It's football - relax.
  7. I'll stand down! Git'er done Buddy! I didn't see your post until after my rant. Solid post!
  8. I cannot bear to read one more thread that begins trade X for a premier starting left tackle. Really? If our players all suck why would anyone give us a premier left tackle for one of our players? Trade our 3rd string back for a pro bowl tackle. Good idea! Jesus why the Hell has nobody on this entire TSW board thought of that!!!!!
  9. Great post.
  10. TG was treated horribly by a few choice a-holes and we all lost a great resource. TG wasn't thinned skinned and gave as good as he got like JW does (thank God he still posts) but TSW abused TG. I hope he returns and I hope Lori returns with him.
  11. Below is a post from Thoner7 who gave a great report on camp yesterday. I asked him about Troup and Carrinton. He said Carrington is looking like the real deal. Here's his response: "Troup worked primarily with and against the 2econd teamers, but it was evident he was a good anchor there. He is a fireblug no doubt about it. Kyle Williams added a little bit of a gut and is very good so I dont see him getting benched for Troup. I think we have 2 very good NTs to work with. I think it was a big endorsement of Carrington to leave him at RDE in the 40 front when the team went nickle. I dont think the coaching staff would do that if he couldnt rush the passer. We are gonna need those 2 guys moving forward thats for sure - and if Stroud wears down over the season like he has the past few we could see a lot of both."
  12. I'll refrain. Very concerned about KW. Any early diagnosis?
  13. We seem to be all agreeing the guy is a stud and all the hand wringing because we didn't pick the better known NT's seems to have quietly gone away. I still stand by the notion that one week into training camp is not a time to put brackets around a player and say he's at or near the top of his game. Better conditioning and strength coaches, better technique coaches, experience and more knowlege of the 3-4 is going to make this guy better. But it's a small point. I don't think the writer was disparaging Troup, I just thought it an odd comment. One thing I'm happy to see is that Buddy Nix knows talent and if he wants it, he goes and gets it no matter what others may think. The guy's got stones.
  14. I agree. The "ceiling" remark was odd though. What the Hell is the ceiling for a NT? If it takes two OL to block you play in and play out and you can collapse the pocket, make tackles and play three downs a series, you're a Pro-Bowl NT.
  15. Golf clap!!!! Great moment in filmdom.
  16. I said the same thing in another thread. This is a huge swing in dollars under the slotting system between #8 and #10. RB's have a short shelf life and tend to want a longer term contract with lots of guaranteed jack up front. The FO is wise to bargain tough here.
  17. Wonder what the odds are on that?
  18. I'm a bit dumbfounded......I'm agreeing with mpl. I think this is a TSW first! Hey Mpl....what's up with this? To those who still question the QB logic, point number two in the list above holds true. No rookie after pick #1 was better than any guy on our roster now. Next year that maybe a different story.
  19. The pricing structure and strategy is akin to taking a second mortgage on your house. If that is truly the wave of the future, ordinary fans will be forever elminated from attending a game. I hope it does fail and the stadium is half empty.
  20. I won't pretend to have thought about this as much as you and the respondants have positon by position. But I do believe wholeheartedly that our offensive production will be greatly improved by having offensive coaches that actually have a clue. Your point about slant patterns is a perfect example. It always baffled me why other teams were cutting us up on slants and somehow we never could figure out how to execute one ourselves. I remain damn excited to see how Gailey uses a Tight End who can run and catch like Nelson and how Spiller gets in the mix. I do remain concerned about our tackles for all the reasons stated on TSW. While Meredith and Bell may be the answers, injuries could derail our improvement in year one of the rebuild. I look forward to your defense analysis.
  21. Excellent. I actually had a chance to watch Troup play once or twice in his college days and thought he could be a beast. Carrington just seems to be a talent - big, fast and with upside as a pass rusher. I also appreciate your thoughful analysis here. It's good to hear your reasoning for why you think some players are doing well rather than just hearing 'they looked good" etc. Thanks again.
  22. Yup., you got it right Thurman. Also, saving $8 mil on a player in his twilight is just a no brainer.
  23. I have to question why keep a fullback at all if you have RB's we do and the use of CJ in the slot, on the move and in a possible wildcat formation. As for Hardy, from what I'm reading he's not getting separation needed to play as a starter, but I think he sticks for another year.
  24. Umm, it's training camp and they are pros for Gods sake. This reminds me of my neice who repeatedly had chances to steal the basketball from opposing players but told me she didn't want to make them look bad. I gave her buck a steal and that solved that! TC is about exposing the best and worst of the players so they can improve or move on. Go ahead and cheer and clap all you want.
