  1. Christ! Between Enuf, Vet and Darth we all should be ovulating. Quite the little downward spiral of woe and anquish! You know boys,we suck, the world knows it and it's irresistible for media to pile on. But if you guys have a better plan than to purge the crap we've accumulated and build anew, please enlighten the rest of the board. You guys are living in the past and the past ain't pretty. You didn't get any of the mythological GM's and coaches you wanted. Boo frickety-hoo. So you got some choices: Root for the Pats or whomever, rage against the machine with these pity-party threads or strap in for the rebuild Buddy-style. You have to pick it....it aint' going to change you you all have only so much stomach lining to burn.
  2. Got another plan?
  3. Okay then, WVU post away and the rest of us rubes will strive to do a better job with our sarcasm detection and to better memorize the the truly insightful posters as opposed to the rest of the great unwashed here on TSW. (Gosh, this sarcasm thing is really tricky...in fact - it's hard to do sarcasm on TSW!)
  4. Really? Then he should stick to insightful football posts because he can't do sarcasm for sh*t.
  5. I'm not an apologist for anybody and for the record I never said Davis sucked. So don't paint me with your wide brush of discontent. But as long as we are at it. Davis isn't looking none too good but that's okay because he's a high pick? What if Cordero keeps pace with Davis? He won't count because he's a walk on? And why the Hell would you draft a RT in the 1st Round anyway? Look, my point is you can spend your life looking backwards or forwards. I'm looking ahead and you are still mired in April of 2010 and in the past several years. It's no longer relevant, what we do now is. Play Cordero - Carrington, Troup, Coleman, Moats, Nelson, Urbik, Wang and let's see what we got. Get you head out of the past brother and let's move on.
  6. Yawn, we are all sitting here 0-5 and dreaming of better days. But I keep saying, don't confuse activity with progress. They could have made a bunch of moves to appease the ranters, but in the big picture, they are following their plan. Build throught the draft and modest free agent additions (ala Dwan Edwards, etc) and get better. I've found some peace accepting that. My rant will come if they draft poorly. Draft another Maybin and I'll join the OP. Now let's use the rest of this year to see how the current draft picks and signee's by Nix and Chan play. I want to see Coleman and Moats, CJ, Wang, Urbik, Howard and the rest play. We are 0-5 with the vets, let's see what the kids can do. So my suggestion to the OP is either accept where we are or burn up a few layers of stomach lining in the weeks ahead.
  7. Yes, but do you respect us?
  8. I'm with Thoner on this. Bell is developing very well. He plays in space and against speed rushers as well as anyone I've seen this year. He needs some strength and to not take stupid penalities. But having a guy that can play on the island is something you can't coach up...D. Bell has the talent and is getting the playing time to refine it. I think he's doing fine right now. Draft a RT for sure. I don't think we need to burn a #1 on an LT.
  9. Wow, the OP is already writhing the the kid hasn't yet to play. Let's see what he's got. Green sucks. I'd rather stink with a young player who has upside and can grow into the role or into a good depth player. I'm hoping Chan puts Wood at center and plays Wang, Wrotto or Urbik at guard. Let's start playing our young guys and they will get bettter.
  10. I don't like using the word retarded as I think it's insensitive at the very least. However this thread just flat out sucks and I agree with the rest of your summation. BTW ....OP, what "impact player" would put on the active roster from the stable of studs we have at the ready?
  11. If Shanny were here now we'd be 0 and 5. We have bad players from years of miserable drafts. What's so hard to understand about all of this. It's going to take time to turn it around. I don't care who the HC is, we were going to suck this year.
  12. Umm, no there haven't. Lots of threads saying he's better than Trent, but your post is flat out wrong.
  13. I like the morning show. Howard and Jeremy are lively and they have good guests. I like it when they box with Sullivan. As for Dope and the LapDog, I just can't stomach the two. They seem to hate everything, including their jobs. When they get with the Sullivan, they literally sound like patients in a depression clinic in a contest to see who's life is in more of a downward spiral. Too bad the listeners can't do a sports anchor draft and replace them.
  14. I think your premise is dead on. The rebuild has to focus on the draft but you just can't stay out of the FA market. Dwan was a good pick up. I'm hoping for a LB and RT and maybe a WR at least. I want to see what the Nelson's can do at TE and WR before spending FA bucks on the positions however. The front 7 is just horrible.
  15. Fun to watch. If he masters the full speed spin move his dad had he'll be damn difficult to defense at any level.
  16. I predict we will have more threads like this one on TSW and the OP's of those threads will get B'slapped by the board.
  17. My understanding of the spread offense is based on the college game and some CFL teams. Shotgun snaps and sort of a wishbone feel to it as the QB looks to run or shuttle the ball first even though there are multiple recieves on some sets. I've always understood it to spread the defense and to create lanes for running and use the run to set up the pass. The QB's in that offense better be plenty mobile and be able to throw on the run. Anyway, I'm no expert and will gladly learn from the rest of the board.
  18. I think "linky" works nicely. As for Wang, be nice if he could cut it at guard. He's not fast but he's pretty mobile and could fit well in the pulling guard spot. Have to see how he handles a bull rush. Question is to what end? I for one don't mind what's been happening at LT. D. Bell is improving and really handles speed rushers rather well. If he can keep getting stronger and cut down on the bonehead penalties, we will have a solid LT. RT is a mess and we need to upgrade center. I'm not sure why everyone seems to be sure that Levitre can plat RT. I know he played tackle in college but he's got the shorter arms as well. I guess I'd like to see a different line up this week. We suck, why not put Wood at center and see if Wang, Urbik and Wrotto can play?
  19. I can't believe I actually read this entire thread. The OP should do a modicum if research before boldly displaying his lack of knowledge and I should learn to stop reading a thread after a first post like that.
  20. Blitzing is more effective from a 3-4 (ala LeBeau) so I agree with the OP. What the Hell, let's play the kids, blitz like the dicken' and have some fun. We'll give up a lot of big plays to good QB's but we will rough up a few, cause some turnovers and maybe get off the field on third and long a few times.
  21. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut. I can't see losing 16. But .500? The OP is has had one too many Red Bulls.
  22. Or prudent. The guy was a beast on the clear, but w/o Roids, he's Keith Ellison. Why pay $3.2 mil for a guy with a name but no game?
