To be AT LEAST 9-7 in 2011
Green Lightning replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree - plus: 1. Move Wood to center 2. Improve RT (Wang, FA or pick) or every TE we have/get will just be a blocker 3. TE who can run and catch the damn ball 4. A run stuffing ILB 5. A more accomplished DC That puts us at 10 wins. -
Why does Chan never run the ball in OT
Green Lightning replied to mike6683's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We were playing the Steelers who shut down the run on the best teams but cough up gobs of pass yards. Our line is still weak on run blocking and the game was ours save a dropped pass. Chan gameplans based on our personnel and what the other te gives us. It's called good coaching. -
For the first time in ages....

Lighten up Promo! I like the path we're on but he has a valid point. Like it or not there's a reason why we've lost every close game. I trust Buddy & Chan but ultimately being a great 2 & 9 team is the same as being 2 & 9. I'm not much for moral victories but I'd take a win over the Pats to make it a successful season. -
Steve Johnson Complaint/Snarky response thread

At the end of the day you're right Biscuit. But I'm in a bit of a mourning period at the moment. He makes the catch and ....well, he didn't. Me and flood of fans will have to get over it and understand these are young guys. I was really happy to see Carrington, Mosts and others starting to grow. We beat the Pats and all if forgiven! -
My pre-season thoughts were that I just wanted to see them improve over the season. They are. It still doesn't make this lose any easier. I hate the Steelers and their jerk-off fans. Watching that pass soar to a wide open SJ was elation, then absolute disbelief he dropped it. Again, Stevie is far from the only reason we didn't win, but you just cannot drop that ball and call yourself an NFL receiver. SJ and Fitz are kind of in the same mold. They play their hearts out but are good for a pick or a drop a game. And they come at the worst possible times.

this team isn't far off.
Green Lightning replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This team is all guts and still short on talent. I agree with would - coulda - shouda criticisms. But to call them losers is wrong. They lost - they're not losers. Washington....losers. This game killed me. But at least I felt something and actually believe we are on the right track. But that's for later thought...right now I'm pretty hollow. -

This was just another brutal loss. All due respect to SJ coming of age...but I'm sorry. You have to make that catch. That is what separates good receivers from average receivers and good teams from average teams. He choked. He's got to live with it. He's not the only reason we lost this game but g'dammit, make the damn catch. -
Methinks the OP is coming off a bender.

No need to innoculate the board on this. Only trolls would say the Bills are not steadily improving. I expect they will play their hearts out on Sunday and if they come up short, it will be because the talent difference in the teams and not because of coaching, heart or mental mistakes. This team needs improvement in talent, but it's got what the Vikes, Cowboys and others don't have. They are team and play for each other. You gotta love watching that.

Okay, that was really well done! "Stevie looking like Jerry Rice." Brilliant. -
My thoughts on the current situation

At this stage of our team's rebuilding Thoner has it right. DL, OL or LB. -
Just Be Happy about the WR's

Keep doing the transition. Be patient, it will get better and better. I'm sold on the 3-4, but less sold on our DC. But that can be addressed in the off season.
-
The OP's points are not dismissed here. As negative as they came off the thought is not lost, but I do reserve Monday for a bit of a "savor the win" time. The OP's later point is one that I set for this team at the beginning of the season. That is I wanted to see growth and continual improvement as the season went on. We are seeing that. We don't have a wealth of talent but we have heart and guts and our young guys that are getting better. It was good to see Carrington and Troup out there. Urbik and Wrotto did ok. Keep playing them and keep improving. The Steelers will be tough and a good test for our guys. I'm looking forward to Sunday and dammit, ain't that what it's supposed to be like with an NFL team?

Injuries and it's still too early to judge. Let's see how it plays out.
-
And by the way, where's all the Chan haters who cried and wailed because we didn't get Shanny and a "big name" DC like Haslett? I said early on all I want to see of the Bills this year is steady improvement. And we're seeing it. More draft picks, better choices and we are on are way.
-
Yup. Especially Dope and the Lapdog.
-
I thought Shanahan was a genious?
Green Lightning replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm good with Chan over Shan. Shan's an arrogant egotist who hasn't done squat since he lost Elway. -
NFL Draft 2010 Revisited
Green Lightning replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can spend your time looking backwards or forwards. I see no point to this thread. The reality is what we have and where we are and judging the 2010 draft right now is folly. -
the bulldog from wgr55 just spent
Green Lightning replied to miketan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Any one who willingly listens to Dope and the Lap Dog deserve the aggita they get. Just don't listen. They seethe negativity. Not that 1 and 9 record deserves kudos, but those morose bastards are incapable of any positive thoughts whatsoever. Since WGR doesn't have the Bills broadcast contract it's their corporate mission to trash the team regardless of outcomes. Not that the team doesn't give'em lots of ammo - but they are just haters. -
WGR 550 the low rent district of radio
Green Lightning replied to mchammer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess for one last time I'll say it. Why would you listen to Dope and the Lapdog for any reason? They are on to dump on the team and to generally ruin any positive you may feel. The station didn't get the Bills broadcast contract and has since decided to dump on the team fairly or unfairly. Don't listen. You'll be better for it. -
Christ I'm sick of these threads. Okay QB at all cost posters - who else besides Luck would you burn a #1 or a top 4 pick on? And Fitz at all cost fans - would you really pass up Luck for what's available at DE or LB? For me, no way I'd burn a#1, 2 or 3 on any of the other QB's I've seen this year.
