  1. I get most of that. It still boils down to great coaches have great QB's and Brady's the best.
  2. I'm waiting for Astrobot to chime in here.
  3. See thread on trading down.
  4. You couldn't trade Maybin and Kelsay for bag of Ben Gay.
  5. The OP has it right. I get sick of hearing how easy it is to trade down and get scads of picks. It ain't. If we can get a game changer at #3 let's just take him and shut the pie holes.
  6. So that speaks more to Brady's abilities. I stand on my opinion. Belichek is a great coach but Brady made him the best.
  7. I think you're in the minority on that. They did miss a beat - and the playoffs that year. Granted they were 11-5, but only had the Dolphins as competition in the AFC East. It was a team loaded with talent and FA's. But without Brady, there were a foot note. Take Brady out of the picture the last several years and Belicheat would be a solid winning coach with a great FA and owner to help. He uses the player's talents well. He's a great coach, but he's not a genius. I'll also point out that the glut of his assistants haven't panned out all that well. They would have if they had taken Brady with them. We'll see when Brady hangs them up.
  8. Could be expensive for the Browns, having to install all those TV's in the weight room. Maybe he will want to take Maybin with him.
  9. Plite? Frankly race had nothing to do with it. It was someone daring to take a poke at media darling St. Tom. Love to see Cromartie do a pick six this weekend. But as someone posted in this thread, my disdain for the Pats has me conflicted with cheering for the hated Jets.
  10. Yeah, he's a genius. Take Brady away and he's not such a genius anymore. The best coaches have great QB's. Shanahan was a genius when he had Elway, Tomlin looked good with PigBen and Farve made some coaches look great. Belicheat had marginal success as an HC until Brady was his QB.
  11. I'm with you. We need impact players on D now.
  12. Thanks for the link John.
  13. Jesus Beavis, lighten up. We're talking some football here. What's wrong with that? I want to hear what he as to say. Fans are funny that way.
  14. Who cares who crayonz is. the posts are never worth the effort it takes to read them....so I never do.
  15. Great, another receiver. Well Hell, I'm all for it - IF - Green can also rush the passer and shut down the 200 yards plus a game we are puking up. Short of that, get some big mean-ass front seven players so our offense can get on the damn field.
  16. He also made an interesting point on coverages re: 4-3 vs. 3-4. He says there's really no difference in coverages between the two sytle defenses but says the 3-4 will put more pressure on a QB to naturally help the secondary.
  17. Umm, small, explosive and fast. All good for a safety and sounds too much like Maybin for my tastes. Let's get some damn beef in here that can blow up an OL!
  18. Regardless of his HC experiences, the guy is a great DC and he's all for the 3-4 http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=nfp-20110111_wade_phillips_to_install_a_34_defense_in_houston
  19. You nailed it. Kiper is a classic bandwagon guy. Let's wait to the combine to see him flip flop again.
  20. Maybe that's why everyone is bailing on a HC interview there.
  21. Point taken. We need talent and we're short of it. You look at a guy like McCargo and he's the same size as Fairley and you wonder what the Hell the difference is. Fairley looks to be just a pure D lineman and lined up next to KW you have like that.
  22. Let's hope TSW takes your post to heart and we stop the endless player for picks threads. Thanks for the info No-Saint.
  23. Now that the game is over, I agree he's disruptive and talented. I'm still at at loss on the scheme Vs. talent argument. If Fairley is a 4-3 DT and we're running a 3-4 you have to decide if he can make the switch to DE. He's not a NT. Actually he's like KW. Apparently from what I'm reading, he won't be available at #3 anyway.
  24. Fairley hasn't dominated by any stretch. He's not a NT and I'm not seeing the lateral moves to slide to DE. Looks like a 4-3 DT to me. Newton sure is big and strong with a big arm. Getting better as the game goes on.
