At What Point Do Nix and Gailey Own This Team
Green Lightning replied to IronyAbounds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All crap. McKinnie signed by the Ravens and we move a guy not producing at LG to LT and call it improvement. Sign a freakin' guard or tackle and lose these waiver wire failures we are playing. Don't - just don't try to tell me nobody out there, whether it's a FA or (gulp) a trade, wouldn't be an upgrade to what we have now. Don't insult this board with that crap. -
Bell will be a quality back-up but we need an upgrade at LT. The problem is we have 3 other OL positions in worse shape than LT. I don't see an upgrade until the rest of the OL is at least competent.

Trade McKelvin to the Giants
Green Lightning replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd take either deal but doubt the Jint's would. -
As bitter as I get with the FO and how things have gone, can you imagine not having the Bills around to cheer for? I mean, we can B word because this is our team. Outsiders who want to chide our Bills do so at their own risk. Short story, the Bills p*ss me off alot, but I love them. Dysfunctional, maybe. But it is what it is.

He's working to get back in shape. So in time, he'll be back to being an NFL OT, while in the same amount of time, Bell will still be Bell.
-
Because this one may actually be able to block.

Jerry Sullivan on WGR this morning
Green Lightning replied to EasternOHBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you trying to convince us that there was not one OT or OG out there that Buddy could have signed as a FA or (Hell, let's get crazy) trade for that isn't an upgrade for Pears, Urbik or DBell? Really? Nobody on the FA list that wasn't a better back up than Wang, Wrotto or Howard? Clabo was it? Over and done? That's just apologist Bull Sh*t. If you really buy that there's not much I can write here that will make sense to you. I hate to say it but Sullivan was right on when we said other teams have depth and we have numbers. Lot's of OL and receivers but no quality depth. I refuse to believe that all we can do pick up guys on the waiver wire or Practic Squads and say we addressed our needs. Also, if you don't like gadget, try gimmick. We spend $4 mil on a guy who could be a bargain, I don't know. I do know that for our base offense, Smith won't be in it, but we will have a load of inferior talent on the line and even worse talent backing them up. -
Yup, Coach has it right.

Jerry Sullivan on WGR this morning
Green Lightning replied to EasternOHBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The OP did a excellent recap of the talk. I, for one, am a very harsh critic of Sullivan as I think he's a lazy journalist who gets by on being a corrosive radio idiot. (when he gets with Dope and the Lapdog, he's insufferable and I don't listen.) That said, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then and when Sullivan, despite his radio idiot schtick, says something accurate I have to give him that. His remarks this morning were hard not to agree with. You can certainly build through the draft but still bring in veteran talent to help in the short term (read: Barnett) and it's hard to justify a $4 mil gadget guy QB when your OL is arguably the worst in the league. Not all of Sullivan's blah, blah has credibility, but hey, I think he's right on this. -

Folks in Toronto come by the scores for garbage plates....and golf, not necessairly in that order. -
Raiders take Pryor in the 3rd round

Question for Terrelle: Got any priors? -
This....it seems crazy to have to even to post this it is so damn obvious.

Caveman has it right. We don't have the luxury of pretending we can turn it on for the season opener. There's nothing to turn on. The offense will take a step back from last year. The line is abysmal and depth is worse. Fitz hasn't found a groove yet and the loss of Evans was a self inflicted wound that will come back and haunt us season long. Chan wanted to come out and see how his team played in base offense and defense. Well, mission accomplished, it was horrid. Channix have a few weeks left to get some talent and depth on the OL. We can spend $4 mil on a gimmick QB who will take a few snaps a game but won't spend a dime on OL talent that we can't pull off a waiver wire or PS somewhere. Pathetic. And what really amazes me is after drafting 650 or so DB's this past decade, our secondary is weak. As fans, let's watch to DL improve and rest our hats on that for the time being...that'w what we got folks.

Please express how you feel about tonight
Green Lightning replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok...I hold my nose and let this crap effort pass. But if our OL looks like this next week it's time for genuine alarm. Sign a vet to play tackle this week and stop this develop waiver wire and practice squad talent crap. -
Up to the minute camp updates 8/17
Green Lightning replied to mrags's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just read the whole thread. Fantastic job Mrags! Thank you. It got me pumped up for Saturday. -
All of which are likely scenarios during the season at some point in games. And heaven forbid that Lights Out or Barnett goes down, or both......you get my point.

Kamar Aiken #2 on depth chart???
Green Lightning replied to dcbillsfan13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My brother was at practice this week and said the kid can fly and catch. Now can he block, read coverages and be where he's supposed to be when Fitz needs him? That's a lot to ask of a rookie UFA. -

Nice work. I really despise those three teams. -
Good one. It's not just against the Bears, he's been awful in TC. He gets pushed around a lot for a guy his size due to poor technique and footwork. He seems a few seconds late to react most of the time. I think he got away with being bigger and stronger than most of the guys he faced in college and in the NFL he can't get away with that anymore. He may develop into a fine player, but it ain't gonna be in the next few weeks. Bring in a vet for a year or two and coach him up because right now I fear for Fitz's safety.

Should be an interesting 1st quarter in Denver
Green Lightning replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup, this is the elephant in the room. As much as I was impressed with our front 7 - subbing for just two starters and we got slapped around again. I'd like to think it wasn't physical, but some over pursuit mistakes, but we'll see, I'm sure Denver saw the tape as well. -
No. They scored their TD against all but two of our starting D and ran it down our throats.

Nix: Offensive line depth Bills’ main concern
Green Lightning replied to TheBlackMamba's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right, didn't we just do that at ILB? Barnett is a two year - at most - signing. Why is the OL so different? We can find a guy who's better than who we have to school the project OL we have and to keep Fitz from getting killed. Jesus, just do it.
