  1. I dunno, we have a lot of receivers - starting caliber receivers - and only one ball. Love Stevie but who sits? We're not going to stunt Woods' growth. Williams is a wild card but could be the clear winner for the other outside guy with Woods in the slot. So for that cost does Stevie sit? Tough call. I like to see Stevie stay on the team but he's not the current FO's guy and has a decent cap hit. Stand by.
  2. We've INVESTED (note difference between invest and traded for) two first round picks and a 4th rounder in this guy. For that price, he'd better be a force and elite. If he is, I'm okay. But sitting here now, I think we paid far too high a price. Our tallest starting caliber receiver is Stevie at 6'3". And we're likely to move him. I just don't get why we don't see the future. Wide outs are 6'4" & 6'5" and TE's are up to 6'8" and wicked fast. We seem to get guys who "play bigger than they are" instead of just getting big guys. (Spare me the James Hardy woes) WE have some good receivers in the six-foot range. With EJ's spotty accuracy, Evans, with his height, huge wingspan and target area, would have been the better pick and would have cost us a lot less. JMHO and not to rain on the parade.
  3. Not liking the price at all and said so in the original thread. But hats off to KH! Just about dead nuts on his call.
  4. Sorry, you can't have it both ways. First you say next year's first round is like this year's second round. Okay, it's a weaker draft and we will be out of it until the second round. So what...is that like this year's third round? Is what it is. We paid a lot for this guy and we'll see how it pans out. I'd much rather have traded up a few spots for a true big receiver in Evans and not bet the farm on another shorter receiver who "plays big." Pears is done. We need a new ROT.
  5. We paid too much if SW isn't Julio Jones minimally.
  6. Better get it done this year because next year's draft with be for depth only. We're betting the farm here.
  7. I said invested in. We used two first round draft picks and a 4th to get this guy. That's investing two 1st rounders and 4th- get it? That's a huge investment and I hope to hell this guy is worth it.
  8. This is what I'm saying. We invested two 1st round picks and a 4th on this guy. So he'd better be great. Not good, great. We now have a group oh shorter wide outs by today's NFL standards. Watkins adds to that. I'd rather we invested less, moved up 2 spots for Evans. He's the piece we needed. I was at the Bills Draft party tonight. Guess next year it will be a brunch.
  9. 2 firsts and a 4th. He better be Jerry Fricken' Rice or we just got B'slapped.
  10. Ugh. Gave up way too much. Should have given a second to get Evans. With EJ's spotty accuracy Evans was the man. I'm disappointed.
  11. Plausible draft. I don' t think this is how it will play out. Whaley's going offense in Rd. 1. But hey, it's the draft and all of us have about as much cred about the outcome as anybody else. Welcome to the Board.
  12. I thought it was a need before dummass got arrested. Neither of our DT's are good against the run.
  13. ABB. (Anyone But Barr) He is Maybin 2.0. One trick pony with just an "around the tackle" speed rush. NFL OT's will push him around. He's not good against the run and can't set the edge. He will end up over running plays and be 10 yards downfield while the QB is in the pocket. Please not again!
  14. Julio Jones is two inches taller than Watkins. Instead of getting a guy who"plays bigger" than he is, let's just get a guy who's big to begin with.
  15. Take away Giselle and he's channeling Scott Thorson at a Liberace patio party.
  16. By your measure, there is nothing new or fresh on the planet, instead just an occasional crest in the slow roil of ideas. Thurman, the innovator and speaker the real, is not one to dwell on mofos past. He's thinking, I'm sure, that is a mofo pregnant with new possibilities.I ,for one, walk with him. You?
  17. True that, but I happen to think it's a new mofo that's on.
  18. Firing Chan and RW turning the team over to Russ is indeed Mofo worthy. What's Mofo worthy in your book?
  19. * Winter is coming... * The game's afoot * It'a hard rain gonna fall * The winds of change * Fasten your seatbelts. .. * It's on like a mofo Pretty much all the same sentiment. Thus speaketh Thurman.
  20. Golisano started the Independence Party. He's not a Republican. He pretty much despises Dems and the GOP. What Jamie just wrote.
  21. That it was on......like a mofo. And indeed it was.
  22. KJ has it about right. Not sold on Lewan, but nobody else has me sold either.
  23. Well, Thurman did tip us off to the big news last time. Wonder what he's up to now.
  24. Meh. Not if it's to get Watkins, a small receiver that "plays big." Let's get a big receiver or pick up some more bodies in this "deep" draft. If there's another Cordy or Kiko in round two I don't care to give the pick away.
