  1. Good give and take. Howard and Jeremy pushed him on Stevie and Byrd. But Doug's the deal. Seems confident. He also seems like a guy that will pull the trigger on those who don't measure up...hope Marone was listening.
  2. You should buy a lottery ticket. It's on like a mofo with you and yours! Great story.
  3. Gotta agree. Like to get more for Graham but is what it is.
  4. In today's NFL that's average. Big, tall and fast is how things are going with receivers and TE's. That's why I covered Evans, Niklas, etc. But we'll see how it goes with our wideouts and if our TE by committee works out. Hope so!
  5. Sure handed Scott? Yeah he strikes fear in opposing DC's. If you realky don't think we could use an upgrade at TE well then we're just not going to agree. As it stands now we have a bevy of smaller fast receivers and the one big guy we have is far from automatic.
  6. We could really use Marshawn Lynch for this offense. I was coveting Hyde out of OhIo State.
  7. My wife calls it "the Daft."
  8. All true and well stated. That said - Go Bills!
  9. Damn Stevie for that drop. Watt or AJ Green ..yeesh.
  10. You will see plenty of 3-4 alignments this year. So Preston will be helpful. But I have to agree with you on your point about other talent on the board that could have started or made a bigger impact this year that Preston will have. I still don't see that we have a red zone threat and some were on the board.
  11. Nice work DWC. Looks like there will be no TE in this draft for us regrettably. I'm fine with stocking O line instead of reaching for a need. We should grab a CB and RB.
  12. So we set Woods back and stunt his growth by not playing him as a starter? Not going to happen. Someone's gotta sit and it won't be Woods. Stevie is not the FO's guy and his cap hit will make it easier to move. I like Stevie and want him on the team but it's not looking that way.
  13. I dunno, we have a lot of receivers - starting caliber receivers - and only one ball. Love Stevie but who sits? We're not going to stunt Woods' growth. Williams is a wild card but could be the clear winner for the other outside guy with Woods in the slot. So for that cost does Stevie sit? Tough call. I like to see Stevie stay on the team but he's not the current FO's guy and has a decent cap hit. Stand by.
  14. We've INVESTED (note difference between invest and traded for) two first round picks and a 4th rounder in this guy. For that price, he'd better be a force and elite. If he is, I'm okay. But sitting here now, I think we paid far too high a price. Our tallest starting caliber receiver is Stevie at 6'3". And we're likely to move him. I just don't get why we don't see the future. Wide outs are 6'4" & 6'5" and TE's are up to 6'8" and wicked fast. We seem to get guys who "play bigger than they are" instead of just getting big guys. (Spare me the James Hardy woes) WE have some good receivers in the six-foot range. With EJ's spotty accuracy, Evans, with his height, huge wingspan and target area, would have been the better pick and would have cost us a lot less. JMHO and not to rain on the parade.
  15. Not liking the price at all and said so in the original thread. But hats off to KH! Just about dead nuts on his call.
  16. Sorry, you can't have it both ways. First you say next year's first round is like this year's second round. Okay, it's a weaker draft and we will be out of it until the second round. So what...is that like this year's third round? Is what it is. We paid a lot for this guy and we'll see how it pans out. I'd much rather have traded up a few spots for a true big receiver in Evans and not bet the farm on another shorter receiver who "plays big." Pears is done. We need a new ROT.
  17. We paid too much if SW isn't Julio Jones minimally.
  18. Better get it done this year because next year's draft with be for depth only. We're betting the farm here.
  19. I said invested in. We used two first round draft picks and a 4th to get this guy. That's investing two 1st rounders and 4th- get it? That's a huge investment and I hope to hell this guy is worth it.
  20. This is what I'm saying. We invested two 1st round picks and a 4th on this guy. So he'd better be great. Not good, great. We now have a group oh shorter wide outs by today's NFL standards. Watkins adds to that. I'd rather we invested less, moved up 2 spots for Evans. He's the piece we needed. I was at the Bills Draft party tonight. Guess next year it will be a brunch.
  21. 2 firsts and a 4th. He better be Jerry Fricken' Rice or we just got B'slapped.
  22. Ugh. Gave up way too much. Should have given a second to get Evans. With EJ's spotty accuracy Evans was the man. I'm disappointed.
  23. Plausible draft. I don' t think this is how it will play out. Whaley's going offense in Rd. 1. But hey, it's the draft and all of us have about as much cred about the outcome as anybody else. Welcome to the Board.
  24. I thought it was a need before dummass got arrested. Neither of our DT's are good against the run.
