  1. So, you going to feel better when a stoner blows a red light and maybe wipes out a family because it's not alcohol? It's still driving under the influence. Don't drink and drive and don't smoke weed and drive. You're paid millions of dollars for a handful of years and part of the deal is you don't do drugs. Smoke all you want when you're in your 30's and retired.
  2. I think Fear the Losing has it pretty much right. It's go-time,for EJ and Hackett and no excuses. The back-up QB situation is vexing me and just plain stupid on the FO's part.
  3. God, what a nightmare for the Kelly clan, but this is encouraging. Keep swinging Jim!
  4. Here's a plan. Let's trade for Pryor, sit him for a year as he is too far behind to learn the offense, then cut him next year. We've had some success with that approach, especially with Seattle.
  5. Been wondering and was pumped to see a new Astro thread! The board owes you a dinner!
  6. Thanks to all for the updates!
  7. As long as somebody else does it...yup, I get it. I don't shoot what I don't eat. I don't support factory farming and the brutality they put an animal through it's whole life. My meat is free range and clean. By my standards, you're the abuser and ignorance of the consequences of your lifestyle is bliss in your case apparently ,and smug to boot. Peace on to you however.
  8. When my wife asks me how soon will this "stupid football thing" will be over. Cows aren't peaceful?
  9. Scenario, we miss the playoffs, Morrone stays, Hackett gets canned and Chan is the new OC. Maybe then Spiller gets some yards. Could happen.......
  10. He's been dreadful in the TC sessions I've attended. Maybe he's a gamer. Can't hurt to give him a go, although I still think we need to sign a vet and should have months ago.
  11. RT and LT are not the same, though elite pass rushers on both LDE,and RDE and LBs have made similar skill sets more necessary of late. Seantrel played RT in college and it likely wouldn't take long to reacclimate. He's a big talented kid with a big future if he stays the course. As for Cyrus, he's so slow and awkward I don't think moving him to guard will be a quick fix, even that will take awhile, but may as well start the transition now.
  12. There's just a joy to it. And I've tried to stop, really. It's just nice to be, well, in!
  13. Maybe, but look at the days Garropalo, Bridgewater and Nassib had yesterday. If comparing EJ to an established QB gets your panties in a knot, compare him to rooks and 2nd year guys. Accuracy is an issue here and we're all hoping EJ improves.
  14. Which is just crackerdogs and shows how capricious the NFL discipline system is. Be consistent and quit holding teams hostage like this.
  15. Fair assessment. Last night you got to see what a great QB looks like and we'll have to be patient and hope EJ can approach Big Ben's level of play. I still have little faith in Hackett. But let's see what happens when the starting Oline is finally together. With the talent we have getting a yard when we need it shouldn't be such a lift.
  16. Agreed, but we need a better back up. Whaley needs to quit avoiding a vet signing because it may threaten EJ.
  17. My thoughts (without following the OP's yea or nay set up) is as follows: 1) I would have liked to have seen more consistency at this point from EJ. Early indications are that EJ is not going to be a pin point passer (ala Big Ben's demonstration last night.) Luckily we have receivers who can make plays on errant passes. 2) Back-up QB play is dreadful and the FO needed to address that with a vet signing instead of trying not to" threaten" young EJ. 3) I still think Hackett is in over his head and his play-calling remains suspect. 4) Quit dicking around with the receivers and put Woods on the field. 5) The D should be fine but great QBs like Big Ben will exploit our much improved run defense LBs with slants, etc and Schwartz needs to address that, particularly with the pass rush being sacrificed to a degree to provide for better run D, which we really needed. 6) Move Cyrus Cementfoot to guard and let's salvage something from what is shaping up to be a 2nd round whiff. 7) Jesus...just cut Legursky 8) The italics were fine
  18. Well, who's winning it then? Ain't Thad. Must be whoever we hopefully pick up this week.
  19. Thinking the back up job is Tuel's to lose.
