  1. Gosh you're right. $23 mil in dead money means nothing and it couldn't have gone to any good use, like say, using it for future contracts. Money is fungible, unless it's spent - in this case on bad contracts. Your knowledge of football financial gymnastics is considerable and you should certainly feel smug about it. You have a fine future in Government finances and can explain why increasing spending is actually a budget cut. At the end of the day it's $23 mil spent on nothing that could have been spent on something else.
  2. An anomaly. Green Bay is colder and far more remote than B'lo. Besides, the percentage is fairly meager. Just win.
  3. Give him a break! It's hard to win the big game when you don't know the other team's plays and coverages ahead of time!
  4. Just win. All this ancillary crap goes away.
  5. Well if the answer is the present regime we'll know by December.
  6. Oh, you mean resign or extend them before FA beckons them? Wouldn't want to that. Let's pay more for them at the last minute or lose them altogether.
  7. Resign Dareus, Spiller, Cordy, etc.
  8. He's had a few Deep targets but dismal completions. After that mess, year, throw it in the clouds 2 outta 3 times and let MW and Sammy contest them.
  9. Seantrel is a rook. He'll be fine as the year progresses. Can't say that about Pears.
  10. Well, not much else he could have said but that he sucked, the line sucked and his coaches sucked. So I guess the alternative is to put some lipstick on the pig and babble like that.
  11. Well he walks away $3.1 to the good but he's walking away from $9 mil for playing a game for a couple more years. Sh#t for brains.
  12. There's nothing to do but wait for opening day against the Bears. If we're down 24-zip at halftime, there will be nothing left to hide behind.
  13. Bam is right, you'd kill Robey in run support at safety. He's fine where he is.
  14. I refuse to look backwards at this point. Boys, it is what it is and we have to look forward. How do we fix the mess we are in? Let's see what Whaley's got. I've given up on Hackett and Marrone is starting to lose me. Fix the friggin O Line, prop up EJ and find a competent back up QB. C'mon DW.
  15. EJ had open targets and didn't see them. He's not hopeless but he's not good right now. Hackett has not put him in position to succeed as he doesn't know how. Guard play was bad. That's on Marrone. Never thought I'd say it but is Igcognito still available?
  16. Love you PTR but you're in denial. Maybe if EJ plays against every team's back-ups we have a chance. He is regressing, limited and unsure, but we are locked into him no matter what. And this coaching staff has done a horrible job preparing him.
  17. No shot at a QB in the first round next year to boot. You have to dismiss all who say it's just a pre-season game. This team is in trouble. Let's see what they do about it. The rest of the AFC must be licking their chops right now.
  18. Yikes, can't get the game in Canada where I'm vacationing. Is D bad, O suckung or all bad?
  19. I'll take that scenario. Gimme some Frank's hot sauce and I will gladly eat any words I have written or muttered that cast a doubt on young Hackett's abilities! (So help me if he plays everyone at the LOS and runs Fred inside to get a yard, the deal is off!) I'd HOPE I am wrong! Won't be the first time I swallowed my utterances. That's just crackerdogs!
  20. Love these articles and I learn much from them. Thanks for posting it and I hope Hackett reads it.
  21. And so ends the thoughtful part of the discussion...but it did make me laugh.
  22. It's a game that features the top two players in the upcoming draft-one who may be a once in a generation player that the Sabres may have a legit shot at. Plus the combine will be held in Buffalo. Worth some discussion I think.
