  1. I hate all that 2-3 years talk. In two to three years will have to likely replace for age or contract reasons, Dareus, Hughes, Kyle, Shady, Cordy, Wood, Richie, Clay and still upgrade several other positions. Then again a real franchise quarterback might be able to offset some of that.
  2. Ultimately,yes - but we just ain't there yet.
  3. Wow, I think the OP is living under a rock. If that's his take, there's little reason to discuss it with him.
  4. Yup. So now throwing a few passes to your star receiver is somehow auditioning him? How about they're just trying to get a couple first downs. Christ, the trade is over, move on.
  5. Crucial info there that would shape my opinion. We need to hear those voices.
  6. Looks like he had a stellar practice. 12 of 18 and a TD.
  7. Beane has put them in position to grab one of the top QB's. We're live and player. At worst we'll have six and maybe seven picks in the top three rounds of a solid draft. Just a few years ago we had no first pick and no playoff roster. This feels different to me and trust me, as a follower of the team since 1963 I finally feel like the FO has a damn clue about the NFL today. These guys are realistic and don't believe in band aids. So I'm not sure there will be a top QB in the draft - lot's of things can happen in a year. But for once, we're in a position to be a player. It feels good.
  8. Please, no thanks, I don't see him as a starter much less a franchise guy. Let's take our shot at the rooks coming out. BB has had the luxury of a HOF and sturdy QB - and one that moves his contract numbers around to keep the rest of the team viable. You can shoot 50% in the draft, trade them when they have the most value and restock and still win with a great QB. No Brady and BB is not a genius, but a HOF coach for sure. Let's lose the god-like halo he has. He has the right system, right QB and a very good defensive mind. It adds up to success. Take away Brady and the Pats are a contending team year to year but not a dynasty. That's a big hope - and not realistic. We've seen TT's ceiling. He's the best QB we've had since Kelly, but not a guy you build the franchise on. I don't denigrate him. I'm happy to have him, but let's be realistic.
  9. I like Batman best.
  10. In this scheme we don't need our CBs on an island.
  11. Foundations are sturdy and last.
  12. At least the WRs we now have may play a few games in a row without walking casts.
  13. He wasn't good laat year. Looks like a wash to me.
  14. I said it in another thread. TSW calls this shocking, the Patriots call it Friday. This is how you build a winning franchise.
  15. This is where I am. Followed this team since 1963. The last 17 years of quick fixes and rudderless leadership took a toll. This feels right. It feels like a real foundation for the future.
  16. TSW calls this a shocker! The Patriots call it Friday.
  17. Hey, everybody's crying about a franchise quarterback. Well next year's draft we're loaded with picks! Sammy and Darby weren't going to play into the long-term plans and they had lots of value now. I think this is going to be a longer-term build and Beane and McDermott know what they want. Not going to be a fun year for us but hey let's see. This is a very Patriots-like thing to do.
  18. Agreed. Once he started getting into the game you could see his instincts were there. He needs confidence and some time to get his burst back.
  19. Is that a rhetorical question? This is TSW! It just doesn't feel right without a QB controversy.
  20. We need to step back on all of this "work with the ones" talk. The kid did well, made some good and bad throws. He earned a look with the twos and see how he does.
