This is exactly it... 99.9% of people never hear of punters, or if they do, it's bc they one some collegiate award... And of those punters that won some award, most don't pan out. Punters are the great unknown, there is hardly ever a punter that comes out of college and everyone is SOO enamored with them that they are excited their team got them.. It generally goes something like this... - team has a punter and brings in some guy to compete - competitor wins battle in camp and people A.) either don't care or B.) ask who in the hell that punter is... Maybe both - competitor punts well and starts garnering respect - all fans vote for said punter for pro bowl - years go by and same cycle continues... The alternative is that the competitor doesn't win the job and fans instantly forget about him and claim the team didn't do anything to improve their punter situation...

Anytime someone mentions out secondary and the word "cast" in the same sentence I have to tweet Gilmore and make sure he isn't acting crazy....

Once again- I will echo Hammers... There should be a pinned thread entitled as such...

I'm going to ignore all that's written about him... He flat out balls when he's on the field... He plays tough, and I can't wait to see it!

I agree 100%... I believe that he and CJ are in relatively similar situations... I feel that both have the ability to be near the top at their position, but they have to show it consistently- and most importantly, staying healthy is virtually a must...

I'm pretty sure that Dixon offers the same ability while also adding more versatility

Gilmore has also played two seasons and been injured to the point of missing time or being so limited he's also a liability.... When he's close to 100%, his numbers are extremely promising!!
