Khalil Mack holding out... in Buffalo
North Buffalo replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could the Raiders just blow up because of this... not looking good... If I am the Bills and he is town.... I am hoping every Buffalo organization is going out of their way to cater to this guy, but put a Bills sticker on any piece of merchandise this guy touches.. -
McD is an annoying sanctimonious bs artist using crap talk about family for this organization when this is a business...and i will cut you if i need to... spare me that fake clapping.... That being said the guy is organized, has a plan and seems to know how to coach... we shall see... its his team now.

Stats are tough to draw conclusions if not used with proper caveats and as others have said they are misused. Stats don't address sample size, context, often ignore ability to learn and adjust... hard to quantify, though wonderlic scores can give you an idea... Allen’s were reportedly very good... I like what I see so far... if he can gain Brady’s discipline with what appears to be River’s skill set... he could be great and you see signs of that. Still he is a work in progress, but things are looking up. I am hopeful. As to should he start right away. I’ll let coaches decide... need to see more in last two preseason games and am still worried about rough schedule in first four games. The media does like to be right and Allen has so many potential tough to quantify variable it is easy to pan him.

I am a CT and xray tech and have seen a lot of them. Docs can tell/know pretty quickly by manipulation if there is a tear. CT and MRI confirm and can tell severity. They came out pretty quickly that it wasnt. Just because a brace, precautionary, helps keep swelling down which can cause more damage. Just because a brace lol. So everyone with a brace like that has an mcl tear, lol. he/she did and got a brace. Reminded me of the monte python sketch. If it floats it must a duck and thus made of wood and therefore a witch.... burn her.

Comes from the fact that he is holding out, working out with his brother at UB, stated Buffalo is his town and a UFA next year. One could hope... no idea what it would take to make the deal. -

Hard to tell on speed issue, would love to see him run now that inguinal hernia is behind him. They take a while post surgery to become comfortable with fully extensing core. Basically intestines penetrating a weakeness in abdominal wall. 3 types of abdominal hernias... inquinal (sports) lower abdominal wall, umbilical just like it sounds, and hiatal hernia the stomach penetrating diagraphm... most of us like 80% have very small ones but the bad one cause a lot of reflux and trouble swallowing. If he doesn’t gain speed and can’t play special teams.., agree probably practice squad at best for him. We will see.. So far he looks good. -

Look, he cheated on his wife... in politics it often spells an end to a career generally. For an organization such that preaches integrity character etc, it is bad optics so close to them... not sure if there is more to the story, but he left a lot of bad feelings around the Bills and Sabres doing his job... my feeling was it was just a nail in the coffin. Sometimes guys like that are good hustlers and marketers and companies hire them as long as they stay below the radar. Russ was exposed so now he is poison locally... probably needs to lay low for a while if he wants to stick around... nature of the beast.

"Ruining" a QB by starting him too soon
North Buffalo replied to Buffalo86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am not sure, though he seems smart and likely he could (qualified).. My question is what is best for Allen and his development. Some guys do better getting in there and learning on the fly. Some do well doing a hybrid of both. Doing, sitting, doing again etc... and some by sitting and watching. Myself... I’m a bit of a hybrid... but I am not playing in the NFL. And there is little patience for the hybrid model during a relatively short NFL season with no real developmental team like hockey, baseball and more recently basketball... It is an interesting conundrum. -

Understood why he reacted. If you understood both scientific method and science you would understood their is no such thing as fact only high probabilities until proven wrong or adjusted or correlations with sample sizes as limiting factors that also don’t account for outliers. I like the analysis and think it has value... but I think it has limits as well and again it depends on an individuals ability to implement and use as a tool. It may be useful or it may not be worth the time based on that indidual.
