Alex Smith Injury-Redskins Cap Space
North Buffalo replied to JetsFan20's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Depends... hockey does it... but I think you can only do it if for one player per year and not even sure it is every year... Though there are more leg injuries in football ending one's career than hockey... Make it one every 3 years per team so it used only if exceptional injury no chance of coming back... gives time for player and team to evaluate chance of playing again. -
Healthy Skepticism for This Year's Draft Class...
North Buffalo replied to glazeduck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting thread and evaluations... Im not as high on Epenesa as some, but he is needed. Moss I really like. The two receivers have talent, but later round receivers can be such a crap shoot so who knows... Same with CB though seems to be a very good tackler but can he learn to cover better deep through technique Fromm is interesting but again another crap shoot but worth the pick at that point. Kicker if he can become more accurate has a leg.. put him on ps and let him work... Hauska needs competition... I like Beane et al as talent evals so in this weird draft and UDFAs I hope there are a few diamonds. I am hopeful but but will keep my powder dry as far as thinking this was a great draft... too many unknowns. I rate it solid with a chance to be moving much higher. The Diggs trade calculated in makes very good imo Again offseason hope spring eternal... lets see how the pieces all fit in this weird environment. -

A Few Scattered Thoughts About The Draft.....

Like Moss, Hodgins and Jackson... not sure about Epenesa and Davis but as others have said Beane seems to know what he is doing. Up with hope and next year. -

The last two paragraphs I agree with and the hospital tents built by that national guards were and a god send. The mask issue and stock pile issues caught everyone... The need for ventilators and medical supplies was not an Obama care deal... It goes much further back to Clinton and Bush and the way our healthcare is distributed and regulated. Streamlining and cutting costs have been disjointed at best while healthcare become big business and serving best only those areas with money. Sure it was but laying blame on WHO when our medical professional knew better and were telling Trump otherwise and yet he wasnt publically reacting was a bigger problem. -

In December sure but not by January when even the independent and networked hospital I work at was scrambling because it realized it were about to get overwhelmed... And ps I dont trust China or businesses that use Chinese labor further than I can throw them. -

Problem is COVID doesnt care and will expose any cracks... political and or logistics in the system... much like 911.... once all sides get a better sense of their roles the response to new outbreaks will be dealt with much more efficiently. -

If what you say is true and sure some is the political blame game, but from what I saw Feds got caught with their pants down. States once they realized this reacted fast to catch up. Feds are finally figuring out what they can do well. Feds couldve been so much better helping with logistics and in some things they did well and other things like mask supplies they FUBARed it. IMO is was more parochial politics like who gets credit and pays for building and paving a bridge on an interstate. -

I get the sense that Trump Cuomo relationship is lot like Gingrich Clinton.., they take shots at each other in public when they have different priorities but actually work together well to get ***** done. -

That makes no sense to me... FEMA and FDA have always had their issues, but have functioned much better in previous emergencies after rough starts. The disjointed slow response from Fed leadership made the issue so much worse for the States. I still think States like Florida and Georgia opening up too soon are in for a rude awakening in a couple weeks. -

Probably the former... Governors on both sides of the aisle are still frustrated with slow disjointed fed response. -

One of those supply chain issues... still not sure I fully understand it other than even though available certain states have already set up testing roots and it may be difficult to bring in another vendor from a purchasing stand point and a facility connection point of contact. My guess is itll get resolved but may take a couple weeks. -

Regardless of this... no idea what to make of it - and to what end... finally the two hospitals I work at in lower Westchester are slowing down on intakes. New Rochelle ER is much less overnite though the floors still have a lot of Covid the ICU is getting better. In Yonkers still have a lot of patients but the amount coming into the ER at one time is doable. 2 weeks ago at 4pm we had 135 pts in ER, outside tent, fast track... this monday only 39 and the only code was a standard heart attack... not covid... Lots of deaths though on the floors... our morgue and freezer trailer are full... had to get another... but pts who have been there since height are finally going home. -

Its not a blame deal, other than acting fast enough... China covered it up til too late, but viruses dont care about politics... they thrive on inaction and ignoring health science experts... and covering up info. Both China and US have done the above. -

North Buffalo replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Not gonna quote anyone on the politics of this... have a sense of both sides... whatever... problem with this is that it spreads easily... more than the flu... there are currently no anti virals to deal with it and those whose have immune or other issues such as cardiac or diabetes are at great risk. On a personal note, I am a CT tech and work closely with our ER in a hospital... we are short on wipes and masks... also my kids school just closed because a teacher was "exposed so they are cleaning the school" The deal with this is the virus is suspected of surviving on surfaces for a while up to 2 weeks though no one is sure. We have a nurse and a CT tech out because they treated the lawyer at another hospital in southern Westchester who was infected and a nurse and a respiratory tech out at the part-time pos at a hospital I work at who also worked at the other hospital and treated said lawyer. I say this to all wash your hands... three caps of bleach per gallon of water is an effective cleaner of surfaces... Soap does best to kill virus on hands... dont fist bump others and stay six feet away from those with a cough. Cough into your elbow if you need to.... All standard precautions. Regardless of politicians... this stuff is very contagious and can be be deadly for those who have issue... I am a recent cancer survivor having chemo this past fall and though my blood level immunity seems fine... I am not taking any untoward risks... Commonsense should be used and stay out of large crowds. -
