Pay $2 million and have the same result a month from now? That would make us as dumb as the 'Skins!!! There was never any other possible outcome. The Bills have no negotiating stance in this situation. Schobel was gone. The Bills couldn't stop it, but would we be happier in a month if they had spent the $2 million? Now, they just need to get Spiller in camp so we can change the topic away from "trouble with player contracts".

Nobody's wasting Shefter's time. The Bills don't consider AS into their planning and decision making. Maybe he thinks we're in such dire straits we should roll out the red carpet hoping for a good story form the mighty AS? I'm sure the Training Camp Gauntlet isn't any fun for him after about the second day. His stuff reads to me like he thinks he should take it out on someone and we're a good choice for victim. Maybe it brings in viewers to ESPN -- not sure how . . . Just seems petty to me.

I think Bradford will be fine and was rightfully drafted #1. But it's not as if thee were no questions about him. But, we weren't gonna go up and get him. All those other QBs are fairly high risk. Next year there will be 5 guys or more who we can comfortably choose as our QB of the future. We won't need to pick any higher than #9 and we'll still get a stud QB.

Spiller's status is a signal to the fans.

Spiller's status is a signal to the fans. No. It's not. Not from the Bills, not from Spiller. -
Hidden? Not from anyone paying attention . . . Since March we've been talking about this combination of facts. #1) Not even Bradford was a stud lock QB compared to next year's group. #2) Next year's QB draft possibilities are not only better, but will likely be a better value given the impending CBA changes. Nothing new here. Certainly no need to be getting angry with each other. Every team in the league had to figure their way through this conversation. It's not about Ralph bein' cheap. It's about how best to gamble with your millions of dollars. This year the QBs were a roulette wheel, next year's QBs give you odds closer to blackjack. . . Troll? nah. Late to the party? maybe.

You talk about rooting for losers AND dis everyone here in the same paragraph! Which is it? Love us or hate us???

-1 Don't disagree with your sense of leadership - I'll speak up for that Can't stand that you need to turn it into a personal attack on another TBD member -- guess you'd want me to speak up about that, too! -
Ranking the nfl by ranking female celebrities --- where's that neanderthal emoticon?!?!?!? Training Camp cannot come fast enough! (Aologies to anyone with the screen name "Training Camp")

What player does C.J. Spiller most resemble?

I agree with keeping Brown as the number 3 (unless he can be Practice Squad, and QB #4), but I wouldn't over-think the number 2. Who's the second best? I don't get the impression that Gailey likes to complicate situations.

Roethlisberger - A Complete & Utter Moron!
Sabre Bill replied to Glory Bound's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
markinsd -- This is pretty freaking weak "story". This lady lives on a golf course but has never seen someone take a piss before? Oh I get it.. it's because she was told it was Ben Roethlisberger so she decided to to be a jackass and call the police.. I'm no fan of Ben.. but calling the police because someone took a piss on a golf course is pretty stupid.. that is unless he ran around waving his d**k at her.. which wouldn't surprise me. lol Really? We're gonna take this opportunity to start calling the lady names, and bad mouthing her? If some dope was takin' a piss in your mother's backyard -- she's the . . .????????????????? Look, I've played enough golf to get takin a leak halfway through the nine, and, no, she didn't need to call the cops on the dumba$$, but calling her names? He's an alleged sex offender and he's wavin his dick around. He's lucky she didn't start wavin a gun around -- that would have been within her rights as well as callin the cops. stupid story, stupid golfer, let's not join the stupid parade! -
Couple thoughts on qb Fitz
Sabre Bill replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We'll just have to roll along and enjoy the good days (plays?). The longterm QB answer isn't a Bill today. One of the guys will show he's gonna be this year's man, but seriously we don't have a Dennis Shaw, let alone a Ferguson, Kemp or Kelly. We can keep going round and round on which of the three (four?) will start against Miami. I hope, whoever it is, they do well. But, I'm done losing sleep over the QB spot (and the O-line, for that matter!). I think I'm done with Trent vs. Brohm vs. Fitzpatrick threads for a while, too. Gailey will do as well as can be done with this roster. There is going to be some fun football in Buffalo this year. No sense in spending the next 7 weeks saying the same things we've been reading and writing since the draft. If you keep doing what you've always done . . . Don't know how many wins this will all translate into, but they'll be much closer to worth the $250 for NFL Sunday Ticket. :w00t: -
1. Maybe. But in comparison to next year's QB class -- that bargain looks like a good price on a Yugo. 2. Agreed. I'm nervous about the O-line, but I feel good about most of what Whaley/Nix/Gailey are doing and I figure they have a plan there, too -- I just don't see it yet. Probably, my bad. Pundits? I barely pay attention to my own posts -- who cares about pundits . . . Now if Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert start ragging on the Bills, I'll get nervous . . . but ESPN, et al. . . . nah!

+1 Man, we're old!
-
Maybe . . . but I think most of the people reading that in their local paper see it as more of a rallying cry and a hopeful promise. Though probably not surprised, they have got to be p1$$ed! Nobody circles the wagons like the Cleveland Cavs!!!! . . .
-
I guess you can assume that the Bill's lack of O-line EXP does show they played a huge number of "second-class" (replacement level) players. It would be unlikely to have that many young players with reliable talent, skill, and decision-making.
-
I think that's a s t r e t c h. There's some truth that Miami is a more attractive city than Cleveland (Buffalo, too.), but the NFL is a long way from the NBA and this whole affair has made both James and the NBA look like clowns -- it hasn't been good for Wade, Bosh or anyone. The impact on future NFL free agents is very close to nil.
-
The EXP column is amazing. Not quite sure what impressions you can draw from the data, but only one team had less than double the EXP and most of the better teams in the league had 4-5 times the EXP. No one could be happy about last year's O-line performance, but this chart should give us hope for a better year -- couldn't be worse, I 'spose!!

$12 million more reasons for Ohioans to hate James!

LeBon burned that bridge, Gilbert just started Cleveland's new bridge!
