I doubt Philadelphia will trade a lot for a running back because they need to infuse their secondary with talent next year. Their defense can't get stops on 3rd down. That secondary has been exposed in every game. They are lucky to not be 1-4 or even 0-5. Falcons and Colts almost had them. The Schwartzian pressure is there but by the time they arrive in the backfield, the ball is out.

There is precedent for this with the successful on-air pairing of Cotton McKnight and Pepper Brooks. 1. The real Christopher Walken and at least two actors who do high quality Walken impressions. 2. William Shatner and Patrick Stewart, which stunning to the NFL hallwalkers, would probably drive ratings up 500%. Haha.

Would you want to live forever?

I think if we legalized assisted suicide in the United States, you'd be surprised at how many would opt for it - of all ages. -

If the Sanctuary sucks as a base of operations, why not move from the Sanctuary to an area that can grow some crops? They spent an entire season ON A FARM. I didn't understand the trip to Washington at all besides the seeds. I find it hard to believe that the canoe and boat inventory would be destroyed and they already had made a wagon. -
This wont go over well...but Sean Mcd is a good coach
dpberr replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The unfortunate thing is he has to constantly be in motivation mode with these players and coaches. If he's on the players and coaches, they come to play Sunday. If he lets off the gas just a little, the concentration and desire lapses. -
Priority: Develop Allen or Win Ugly?

You can do both. It's not an either/or proposition. -
Broken Pass Protections - Why? What's the Fix?
dpberr replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's more evidence to heap on a mountain of evidence that Juan Castillo needs to be fired. He's the guy in charge of making sure "his" guys know what they are doing. It's clear they don't. These gameday errors are made because of shotty game day prep and a lack of focus and discipline. Considering the OL issues go back to training camp, that suggests it's a systemic disconnect between OC, unit coach and personnel. I don't think the guys on the OL are stupid or not good at football, but it's clear they aren't where they should be and to me, that falls on the teachers. -
Toyota Tacoma or Chevy Colorado?

I wish they'd bring it back. Don't forget the Subaru Brat. ? FWIW the Avalanche and Suburban were built on the same platform. Truck was deceptively useful. Without protrouding wheel wells and the collapsable mid-gate, you could haul absolutely anything. -
If I were the Democrats, I'd rather Kavanaugh over Amy Barrett who'd probably be Trump's second pick if Kavanaugh doesn't get the votes. Barrett is a baller who took Feinstein back to school in her confirmation hearing to the appellate court, and besides being female, she has more conservative beliefs than Kavanaugh does - especially on the abortion topic. In hindsight, Democrats probably would have preferred Bork over Kennedy as Kennedy was far more conservative than Bork - who was an originalist and an agnostic.

If video stores were still a thing, a lot of these movies would be straight to the shelves. If Venom were made by the same crew that made Deadpool it'd destroy Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga at the box office. Unfortunately, Venom suffers from the same pre-production issues that plagued the Predator movie. Hunter/Killer is a great movie - with better actors and a better director. Gerard Butler and Nicolas Cage should really do a movie together since they are hellbent on being in every movie ever made.

For me, as a fan, I don't like how the team inconsistently shows up for games. OL not knowing where they should be. Wide receivers who can't concentrate enough to make a catch, etc. I also don't like the team getting its doors blown off in 3 of the 4 games played. Both trends suggest there are issues to be fixed in days leading up to the game.

Sean McDermott: "Culture Trumps Strategy" ?
dpberr replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's conspicuous by its omission. Without accountability, McDermott's tenure will differ little from Rex Ryan's tenure. Ryan was all about culture and loyalty too, with next to no accountability. Castillo and Robeskie may be great for culture but there are obvious problems with the OL and WR units. The OL persistently looks lost. The WRs have significant problems with concentration and motivation. That falls not just on the players but the coaches entrusted to teach them and get them ready for the games. My hot take is there is significant interpersonal issues between Daboll and the more experienced coaches under him in the "I've been a coach in this league for decades. This guy has no idea what he's doing..." sort of tack and it's percolating down through the players. -
Toyota Tacoma or Chevy Colorado?

In my truck shopping opinion: Stay away from Nissan trucks if you're in the northeast. There isn't a Frontier I've seen in SEPA that isn't rusting. I almost bought a Nissan Frontier myself but I don't think they hold up to the winters and our overzealous DOT salt spreaders. Chevy trucks have a softer ride and come better equipped. If you're going to use your truck for a daily commute on roads or you're going to be having kids in it, might be something to keep in mind. Toyota Tacomas have a stiffer ride. If you are going to be off-roading or participating in a gunfight in Afghanistan, or looking to trade it in after a couple years, might be something to keep in mind. (I've driven F-150s, Rangers, S-10, Silverados, Avalanches, RAMs, Dakotas, Tundras and Tacomas from the 70s to present with personal and work use, test drove the Colorado) -
Sean McDermott: "Culture Trumps Strategy" ?
dpberr replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This quote is troublesome. Unit coaches should be teaching, communicating, and making sure things get accomplished. They have to be more than culture change agents. Juan Castillo may be a great "culture" guy but he's a terrible coach managing an underperforming unit and it concerns me that accountability isn't a priority. -
I think the OL is talented enough to be more competitive than they've been, yes. Many of their miscues are due to not being where they are suppossed to be. The wide receivers have NFL-level skills. Zay Jones holds the college catch record. Benjamin caught the ball 62% of the time it was thrown to him last year. He showed what he can do when he's focuses in the preseason game against CAR. He's at 33% this year. You aren't in the NFL if you have zero talent catching footballs.

My hot take is you could fire Daboll this morning and it wouldn't change the effectiveness of the offense. I suspect there is a serious disconnect between the OC and unit coaches and that is resulting in the lack of communication, preparation and discipline you're seeing on the field and in practice. The offensive line is plenty talented, they just don't know what they are suppossed to be doing most of the time. The wide receivers lack discipline. Dropped catches aren't from a lack of talent, it's from a lack of awareness, discipline and concentration. I doubt the unit coaches (Castillo or Robeskie) are lazy. I think they aren't great teachers nor motivators and that's a killer combination for this team.

Dunkin' Donuts is officially dropping 'Donuts' from brand name
dpberr replied to dpberr's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Two primary reasons: 1. Central and the on-demand baking remove the freshness. 2. "Advancements" in food chemistry. The modern Dunkin "Donut" has no less than 30 ingredients. Believe it or not, many of their recipes do not include butter but chemicals that provide the taste of butter. -
Should Teams Start Spying Josh Allen?
dpberr replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With Pettine's defense, Josh Allen will attempt just one pass and McCoy will have 425 yards on 25 carries. He doesn't need to be a profliic passer this week until Pettine shows he can shut down a running game. Any running game for that matter. -
McDermott not pleased with WRs in practice
dpberr replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll say it again, his coaches aren't good coaches. They should have that sort of crap down on lock. If the head coach has to run over to restore order, that's a problem. -
Brandon Spikes is still working out for teams?

He would have been an All-Pro if he played in the 1980s NFL. -
Dunkin' Donuts is officially dropping 'Donuts' from brand name
dpberr replied to dpberr's topic in Off the Wall Archives
They moved from on-premises to 100% central baking in the mid-90s when they started making prospective owners buy whole territories, not just one shop. I recall reading about the decison making process in a book about decision making because it was 100% about efficiency and making as big as a footprint as you can in the shortest amount of time. The stores needed so much product, the central bakeries were running 24/7, something they couldn't depend on an individual store to do. There are good franchise owners and there are bad ones and the only way to gurantee consistent product is to centralize all the complexity. -
I'd offer men cheat out of loneliness, primarily, not sex. The older you get, the less friends the modern male tends to have. Once the kids and mortgage come along and the job with long hours, the Mrs. no longer sees you as that hot man but the necessary means to the end of making money, mowing lawn, etc. A man can be surrounded by lots of people and feel quite isolated. In the old days, men would leave work and hang out at the bar for a few hours or join a social club or participate in things like a bowling league or game/fish club. Today, most men are more isolated - they work out alone, do activities alone, do yard work alone or surrounded by the wife and kids 24/7. The question that I wish that "research" looked into was if the cheaitng men had any sort of their "own" social circle with their own hobbies. I'd guess they do not and I'd hypothesize that men with the more active social circle have less inclination to cheat because life feels a little more fulfilling and active.

Agreed. I read about the corporate decision to consolidate the baking facilities. They knew before they made the decision it'd decrease quality and customers would complain but they have a near geographic monopoly on that fast food niche of coffee and doughnuts so they thought customers would get over it. Considering they are one of the few franchises that never seems to take a downturn in building new locations and are recession proof, you'd have to admit they were right.
