If you're selecting him with a low pick, sure. Otherwise, you're in Willis McGahee territory with the high pick.

I am very pleased they made mention of paying attention to the medical data on players. I don't think that's been a priority data point for previous Bills FOs.

Jason Witten returning to play for Cowboys
dpberr replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Heart over brain here. I'm not sure I'd want another season of brain rattling at age 37 with a body that hasn't taken a ht in a while. Feels like one of those "just asking for it..." moments. -
TV Shows That Stayed On Too Long
dpberr replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in Off the Wall Archives
24. It got very predictable and towards the end, way too much Chloe. The Corey Hawkins try shouldn't have been attempted. First bad guy you see isn't the really bad guy, there's always a mole in CTU, etc. Sons of Anarchy. As that series wore on, it was less about an anti-hero motorcycle gang and more about the exploits of a sociopathic group of murderers. -
When these two countries fight, they really go at it. Lots of shelling, large tank battles, aerial dogfights and covert operations. They sorta sneak in all the aspects of a world war in like 48 hours of battle royale before they say "eh" and do a ceasefire. IMO, this is a more likely nuclear flashpoint than anywhere else in the world because of that historical pattern of ratcheting up the war real quick.

Report: Bengals looking to trade WR John Ross
dpberr replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't trade for him. Taylor not finding a role for him on the team is a blinking red light to me. He is an oft-injured, undersized wide receiver with poor route running skills and documented issues beating man/man coverage because he's undersized. In such a quick precision passing league, your WRs need to do more than run really fast. -
There's a difference between "news" and "content" today. Biggest change is the demand for 24/7 content by management. They don't really care what it is, so long as it can get up on the website or in the Twitter feed ASAP. The days of a Dr. Z longform expose are long gone because management demands content creation on a ridiculous schedule to stay competitive with Twitter and bloggers. Bill Simmons gave real content a shot and ESPN couldn't stomach it because it likely took too long and too expensive to make. Opinion is cheap, easy and quick to manufacture. We see that a media company doesn't need to hire a Dr. Z caliber reporter anymore. You can hire a "Dylan" fresh out of college and get your content and a "Rebecca" to direct "discussion" with the cast of former NFL players just to say stuff to soak up the airtime.

Will run a route about as good as a cross-eyed dog. Lots of fast athletes in the NFL. Fewer precise route running WRs. -
Florida Human Trafficking
dpberr replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
IMO, legalizing prostitution in the United States would make a dent in human trafficing. The black market thrives when an act or product is illegal. -
There are a lot of guys on there with worrisome injury stats. Morse has missed a lot of games.

IMO, I think the Koreas have already agreed to the end of the Korean War and easing of some sanctions. I think that can still be screwed up. I'm concerned the neocon movement in Washington will not be happy with anything less than their idea of a Korean peninsula in the image of South Korea. If Trump can get the Koreas to end the war and get North Korea on a path mirroring Vietnam's economy, I'd chalk that up to a success. If it were anybody (and I mean anybody) but Trump doing it, we'd be getting him or her fitted for a Nobel Peace Prize.

The Walking Dead and the Whisperers
dpberr replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The lack of firearms and ammunition is lousy, uneducated writing, I agree, considering the locale of the entire show. Virginia is home to numerous ammunition and weapons manufacturers, not to mention several large military bases. Even if it's a few years post apocalypse, materials and equipment are still around, even if you could only make .22 caliber munitions. Eugene was making ammunition for the Saviors and gunpowder can be created. Last night I saw Ezekiel had one of those fancy new Beretta FS92A3s in a thigh holster which is a major plot error as they would have never been invented in that timeline. I think as TWD goes on, the firearms inconsistency will be a major plot hole for anyone who cares about the details. haha. I figure they want to make the Whisperers scary and they aren't scary at all if your hunting parties are armed with 21st Century firearms. -

The moral of the story watching TWD and FTWD is don't have any dumb kids in your group. They are sure to get you killed. -
Vaccines and Trump: Your stance?
dpberr replied to BeginnersMind's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
After personally being injured by a flu vaccine, I'm obviously biased about the subject. I'm not against vaccination. However... I don't think otherwise healthy people need to expose themselves to the risk of the flu or pneumonia shots year after year. I'd rather be sick for a week instead of how I've spent the last 20 years of my life battling a debilitating nerve condition as a result of a nasty reaction to the shot. I also don't think the CDC/FDA/Corporations are really researching these vaccines carefully. I think that's why you have a growing group of children all of a sudden with acute flaccid myelitis. I suspect it's due to a bad batch of vaccine that somebody missed. I also don't think it's right the government protects the vaccine business with its own no-fault drug court. The government will pretty much write you a check to go away. -
Karlos Williams conditionally reinstated by NFL
dpberr replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You wonder why he didn't sign up for the AAF. You'd think he'd want to show teams what he can do. -
I think he's going to steamroll the 2020 election, especialy if the Mueller report is a big nothing burger. Despite the outward appearance of being a major ####### to work with and deal with, he's accomplished or worked on everything he said he would, he's kept the United States out of another major war and the economy has been doing well. He's America's ####### in a world filled to the brim with them. IMO, the Democrats walked right into the trap of obsessing and raging about the man's personality flaws instead of crafting better policy or building a superior candidate. They essentially are doing what the Republicans did between 1992 and 1996 with Bill Clinton as he cruised to a second term.

The Walking Dead and the Whisperers
dpberr replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I've wondered about the lack of firearms myself because Alpha wielded a double barrel shotgun, firearms get "reintroduced" later in the books and Eugene was making ammunition for the Saviors. Considering gunpowder was invented in 850AD, it's not like you needed a modern 21st century facility to manufacture it. -
Current NFL CBA ends after 2020. AAF in the mix?
dpberr replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the AAF demonstrates viability - lasting more than three seasons without teams in financial trouble - I foresee it becoming the developmental league for NFL front office, coaches, players and referees. The NFL is the only major professional sport that lacks minor league infrastructure for its personnel. It's a win/win for the NFL. They get to expand rosters, football is on TV nearly the entire year, the NFL is in smaller markets, and perhaps even the quality of personnel will be improved if there is a stop between the college and pro game. I also see it as a way to keep NFL players who get into trouble in the game until they can get back into the league. -
I really enjoyed Jay Mohr when he got his own show opposite Jim Rome a few years ago. His Jim Rome impression made me laugh every single time. Not sure whatever happened to him - he seems to have largely disappeared from Hollywood.
