  1. Shockey is a player on the decline in almost every statistical category. Sure, he's better than what we have now, but I'd pass. I agree we need to invest in this position either via draft or FA. I'd make a hard run at Marcedes Lewis, Zach Miller or Kevin Boss before Shockey.
  2. I don't understand why the Bills would be interested in Bob Sanders. He's too small for the SS in the 3-4, not to mention, the injury bug firmly attached to him.
  3. You do realize he's played both SS and FS in his career? He performed quite well at the SS position.
  4. Atogwe does a few things better than Whitner. 1. Considerably more productive in creating turnovers. 2. He has the height, talent and experience in covering TE's in the 3-4 defense during his career.
  5. The St. Louis/Arizona Cardinals. Ironically, the team has a history with the area in PA where I grew up. Have always been interested in the team, going back to my teen years. Between the Cards and Bills, and a fan of the Pirates in baseball, nobody is ever going to accuse me of jumping on a bandwagon.
  6. Surprised, but not sad to see him get cut.
  7. As a Colorado Buffaloes fan, I caution you about watching highlights against CU. We (as in you and my fellow board posters) would look like great football players against CU's teams of the last few years. I don't buy Jordan at #3. I think that's high, and I think he's (and Cal's program) are getting a slight benefit of Tyson Alualu's performance this year with Jacksonville.
  8. I agree that he's a project. I wouldn't mind taking him with a low pick, but he's not worthy of a high round investment. Dre, you make an outstanding point. His flirtation with baseball has absolutely Hensoned his potential as a high NFL draft pick. I think if he laid off baseball, and concentrated on football, he would have had a far better season at Washington.
  9. He may physically look good, but he's nowhere near game shape. He will need at least two years to get to that point, just like Vick did with the Eagles. Any team that picks him up is really picking him up for the following season. He'd spend this season getting into mental and physical shape to play professional football again and staying out of trouble. I'd think the Ravens or Eagles would be teams he'd be interested in.
  10. “If the Rams take Sam Bradford in the draft it will be a monumental mistake.” Trent Dilfer
  11. I like the first design. The third design intrigues me.
  12. If we are going to break the bank in FA on defense, I'd rather the money be spent at the LB or TE position.
  13. Does anybody know who has the final say on uniforms? Is it the team solely? Or does the NFL provide significant input and the final say on the decision? I'd love if the Bills rolled out a simple throwback design. However, I haven't been impressed with any of the new uniforms of other teams the last couple years.
  14. It'll come down to the combine for me. I like Dareus at #3, but the idea of Quinn with the pick is growing on me. Just say no to Von Miller.
  15. She was awful. I think the whole Super Bowl crapped the bed. Fail all over the place. All that being said, I'd give Aguliera another chance next year to redeem herself. I think that would be a classy touch.
  16. Outside of the game itself, everything about the Super Bowl was an unmitigated disaster. The talentless singing, worst halftime show in at least a decade, USAF fighters flying over the enclosed stadium. F to the A to the I to the L. I like the idea of the audience singing the National Anthem. That would kick some ass.
  17. I agree. The halftime show was abysmal. They need to get acts that perform well LIVE. I literally LOL'ed when I saw Slash and the completey arbitrary and unnecessary GnR song. What a mess.
  18. Get it settled. A lockout would set the NFL back years. My nightmare for a lockout draft in 2012 would be a model based on the NBA lottery.
  19. For folks that want to take Green at #3, how do you propose to fix the run defense, which took us out of so many games last year?
  20. Kiwanuka would be pretty good as an OLB in the 3-4. It's just that his injury is a cervical disc injury, and that's quite serious.
  21. This revolution is all for show. The Egyptian military is the alpha dog in that country. It's well financed, well equipped, with an outstanding intelligence network. Every President of Egypt is former military. Sadat was assassinated by elements within the Army. Mubarak is former Air Force. His new VP is former Army. All of what you see...the riots, the attacks on western press, etc. is all casus belli of the big bad military crackdown soon coming. As long as the military runs the country, groups like the Brotherhood will be lucky to remain a relevant political organization and not to end up dead, in prison, or on the run. This revolution could be put down in ten minutes. It soon will. Just have to build enough cover story for the coming brutality.
  22. Time to be Debbie Downer on Pegula. http://www.mcall.com/news/local/carpenter/mc-paul-carpenter-team-owners-20110203,0,6567425.column I think Wilson has had a succession plan for a long time. I think it's been kept private because fans will probably hate it as it swaps out one type of uncertainty (does he have a plan?) with different uncertainty (what will his daughters do? Sell?) and Wilson does not want to subject his two daughters to the media and fan circus it'd create.
  23. +1. Already know how this movie ends.
  24. I'm not saying Fitzy is the long term answer. I'm saying that the defense, especially the nightmarish run defense, is the question that must be answered through the draft and FA this year. That's where any resource, including draft picks, should go. Stuffing the run.
  25. I like the idea of the worst of the NFL going up against the BCS champion. Or NFL vs. UFL.
