  1. I don't think Evans goes to the Cardinals. The Cardinals would be very short on draft picks if they parted with even more for Evans. They'd really be mortgaging the future. I like Lee Evans....but he is replaceable. I don't think defenses game plan for him the way some fans think they do.
  2. If the Raiders, who are the virtual Ellis Island of the NFL reject a player based on health, there is no way he's getting on the field by Game 1 of the regular season. Chronically bad backs don't heal themselves in two weeks in your average person. You take that recovery out much farther when you're talking about a man of Gaither's size.
  3. He'll be cut before the regular season starts.
  4. Not sure Kirk Morrison is an upgrade over anybody on the roster. He's one guy where the statistics don't tell the whole story. Tatupu had surgery on both knees in January 2011. He's not the same player he used to be. Two freshly surgically repaired knees 1) on turf and 2) at that position with the demands of playing that position and you're really taking your chances. At best, if you sign him, you hope for a really good season out of him in 2012, not this year. He won't be doing much of anything this year.
  5. I'm all for cleaning up the atmosphere at RWS and every other stadium in the NFL. Unfortunately for smokers and drunk jackasses, the Bill of Rights and US Constitution doesn't have any specific provisions related to smoking and being a drunk jackass as a right of being a US citizen. The way I see it, when you're on anybody's property but your own, you follow their rules. If you don't like it or can't possibly abide by them, stay home, smoke, drink, watch the game and get in fights with your neighbors in your own front yard just like we do here in Pennsylvania. I'd wager that if the NFL banned both smoking and alcohol sales in stadiums, and alcohol at tailgating on team or public property for a year, attendance would either stay the same or go up.
  6. Cosmic forces...aligning....
  7. He's a grease fire emotionally and physically. Even with a good back, you never know if he's got the desire to play and put the work in. Big ol' next on Gaither.
  8. What's the fun in being a pessimist when it comes to football?
  9. I'd rather have a Chan Gailey type versus a coach who can *only* be competitive with a stocked roster like Mike Shanahan.
  10. You'd hate it even more if we were ranked #1.
  11. I think the Maybin and Nelson experiments are over. Those roster spots are valuable, especially Maybin's given the needs of the 3-4 and our annual injury issues at the position.
  12. Bill Parcells was the beneficiary of outstanding drafting with the Giants and Patriots, not free agents or quick fixes. He's gotten away from that. The draft is the fulcrum on which good and bad teams are balanced.
  13. What are they, the Saturn dealership of free agent no haggle pricing? I'd take Roth at that number.
  14. Chicago: They never seem to be good two years in a row. Seattle: Only got in last year because they were the least horrible in a bad division. New England: I think the team has started the slow slide to mediocrity. Philadelphia: The football gods shun attempts at buying a ring. New Orleans Saints: I think the Falcons and Bucs will keep them out this year.
  15. He'll get another shot with a team. Teams love the lottery ticket. It's the only reason Gholston is practicing with the Bears and Buster Davis is in NY right now.
  16. Useless, no. He's only useless if he's injured. Effective? Eh. He'll give you a play or two on passing downs, but just like Derrick Mason, you've got little left in the football tank at that age, especially as the season wears on. This is not a big deal signing whatsoever. NFL in the year 2011: Advantage Youth
  17. I don't see how signing a 34 year old defensive lineman is any real news.
  18. Outside of being packaged with another player or heaven forbid, a draft pick, I'd be very surprised if a team trades for him with his release all but inevitable.
  19. We are going to kill with that robo-rebounder in the paint.
  20. The bottom line is that you don't see 228 lb linebackers even in college football. Being such a light LB will get you killed in the NFL. If I'm the Bills, I'm evaluating plan B. Why they still insist on keeping him at LB baffles me. Try him at another position or release him.
  21. I wouldn't be shocked to see him cut before the season. He's got very little left in the tank.
  22. It's amazing that Tampa Bay, Green Bay and Pittsburgh gets accolades and that'a boys for not spending big in free agency and instead, building through the draft and keeping their own guys. Also known as what the Bills are doing.
  23. I'll buy #10. I chalk #10 as to why the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Indians are good this year in MLB. Why the Mavericks beat the Heat in the NBA. It's got to be bored cosmic forces, man. And...the statute of limitations has officially run out on the Music City Miracle.
  24. I think Chan Gailey is a good coach and I've liked the hire since day one. While the national media didn't care for it, I thought it was a rather inspired coaching decision by the Bills. I was expecting the long time coordinator, first time coach hire again. I knew the change from the Tampa 2 to a 3-4 was going to be difficult. I knew having Trent Edwards as your starting QB wasn't going to be successful. I knew not having successful drafts gives a team very little in talented personnel. Those things have changed for the better, and I expect it will be seen in the win column this year.
  25. What continues to happen to Cindy Brunson? It looks like she continues to have work done to her face. Unfortunately, the original canvas was better. She's getting close to Joan Rivers territory. I like Michelle Bonner and Shelly Smith in terms of quality female anchors/reporters on the network.
