If you want to read a pretty good tale of the US military versus zombies, check out the paperback "World War Z" where the military goes face to face with millions of zombies in Yonkers, NY in a full scale engagement in the early days of an outbreak. The book is being made into a film, with Brad Pitt as the star. If the movie pulls off the Battle of Yonkers, it'll be a blockbuster. As for the Walking Dead, zombies outnumber "alive" humans 5,000:1.

See that's the thing...I'm not sure he has a full beard working. I thought of Jeff Fisher, but he shaved the beard when he was introduced by the Rams.

With how injury prone Vick is, Eagles fans stand a good shot at really seeing this airplane crashing into a train crashing into a tanker truck of gasoline on the tracks for numerous games.

He's in the Coples-zone, even as a second rounder. His intangibles are such a liability, they outweigh the talent. Talent is no good if it's not on the field or unmotivated.

It's a good look for him. If I were him, I'd keep it. Would he be the only NFL coach with a beard?

Or maybe he won't watch the show until next Tuesday? Perhaps I'll just wait until next Wednesday to talk about the show." Lets get something straight, I'm not trying to ruin your watching or posting experience. If you only watch the 41 minutes of show, no promos, no webisodes (which are outstanding), didn't read the books, read no magazines (EW covers the show so much nearly ever issue's got something), no online content and avoid AMC with the exception of Sunday night, well that's nearly everything I've ever discussed on here. Some people in this thread have read the books and know more about the show and want to talk about it. The show gets a ton of media exposure. A spoiler to me is inside knowledge not publicly released. A spoiler isn't discussing source material, either, in this case, the books. I haven't seen the shows ahead of time nor do I work on the set. For example, 24 had a fan site when the show was on, and had somebody who worked on set releasing information about the shows that not yet aired like which character does what, who gets killed, what happens in step by step fashion. It wasn't publicly released information. If you want real spoilers, that would be telling you what Jenner said to RIck. Or who specifically dies. Or where they go in Season 3. Or how 18 miles ends. That information has not been publicly released, but it's been spoiled by crew and is out there on message boards, etc. I haven't discussed any of that.

When the majority of people are unarmed sheep, the few with guns have immense power. They are a projection of force. Most criminals are scared to death of encountering resistance in a burglary or a robbery. If you're going to rob somebody's house, would you rather rob a house in Chicago or DC or in rural Texas or rural Pennsylvania? In Texas, you're almost guaranteed to be greeted with the homeowner and a shotgun or a handgun, more than ready to use it. In my neck of the woods here in Pennsylvania, there was a case last month of an elderly gentlemen jogging in Reading, PA, one of the nation's most poor cities. He gets jumped by three kids trying to rob him in broad daylight. He shoots two, kills one, defending himself. Half the problem is that firearms are treated as a taboo subject in many parts of the United States. A generation of kids have grown up never learning how to properly use them and respect them and understand their value as a tool in defending yourself.

Again, they are only spoilers if you are living under the rocks with the Geico guys. All of this information is on AMC's Walking Dead homepage, tvline or deadline.com or especially, the promos that run at the end of each show. Robert Kirkman is interviewed by nearly everybody from the LA Times to Entertainment Weekly. The show regularly gives out information. AMC's screencaps or the photos I talk about are from the promos that ran in advance of the February 12th mid season premiere or right after last week's show. Like right after. And I'd agree with the good Dr. in that the books are far superior to the television show. I've read nearly the entire series myself. There's no novel discoveries here, only discussion of information widely released.

Confirmed on the new character and character deaths. There are four episodes remaining, with the season finale on March 18. AMC released a picture from the next episode that reveals that the farm will indeed become compromised in some fashion before the end of the season. In fact, the discovery of Randall, the kid who had the unfortunate run-in with the fence, is a major plot easter egg. AMC also released a picture of Carl pointing an M9 at someone, which closely resembles a major plot point in the book.

By the way, Michonne will appear this year, in episode 13, the season finale. No word on what actress will be portraying her. Arguably, she's one of the comic's best characters. Three "main characters" will die by season's end as some new and previous characters reappear.

I like Meachem but I think that Garcon is the best FA wide receiver for the Bills, if I had my choice. All of the other receivers out there like your Meachems and your Vincent Jacksons have had great quarterbacks throwing to them so you have to evaluate whether they can perform without a Brees and Rivers arm throwing their way. Garcon had the equivalent of a fan from the stands throwing balls from the QB position and excelled. He has proven he can perform regardless of the skill level at QB and that is a valuable commodity.

These types of articles are negotiation ploys with the "sources". Time kills a deal. Too quickly, one side gets really disappointed. Too long, both sides get disappointed. Just right, both sides walk away slightly disappointed but generally happy. I think the timing of SJ's deal is still in good shape. Haggling is an art form.

When you think about shows "similar" to the Walking Dead, say the Mad Max movies, Jericho or Battlestar Galacitca, there was a constant push to go somewhere with a fair amount of conspiracy and intrigue to provide depth to the plot. Even Mac Max was always going "somewhere" to do "something". Even one of the more brilliant premises but lousy execution when it came to apocalypse movies, 1977's Damnation Alley, had a goal: Get to Albany, NY. That was the premise of the cross-country journey. The writers seem to be really playing up the Rick/Shane battle and it's just not that interesting while at the same time, setting up the farm up to be this impregnable fort.

I don't think KC's contract with Routt is an example of spending "good" money. It's spending money, sure. The fact remains, however, that the player had a bunch of question marks, notably, his ability to adjust to the new NFL rules (the reason for so many penalties last year) and relearning how to play CB from what made him previously successful that really made an investment in him risky. I am in the minority here probably but I am glad that the Bills did not win the Routt sweepstakes based on those contract numbers.

I cringe at a Mercilus pick at #10. Lots of red flags for me. Mediocre program in the Big Ten. One year wonder. Too many question marks for a top ten pick you need to have instant impact. For those that are ready to throw up Bowers or Watt from last year, you must consider the circumstances....The Bucs picked Bowers up at #51, where the risk is less and his NFL production for the spot was ok. You pick Bowers at #3 and only two sacks gets you labeled a bust. Watt at #16 went to a talented defense and wasn't a top ten pick to a defense that doesn't have that strong of a supporting cast. I like Upshaw and Melvin Ingram is growing on me.

Any defense that doesn't have linemen laughingly disguised as outside linebackers is a step in the right direction in my opinion. If the team does not have OLBs on the roster, go out and sign some FA OLBs. Even the mediocre off the street linebacker has to be better than a lineman pretending to be a linebacker. Playing guys like Kelsay and Johnson at their natural positions full time moves the dial forward a little bit from last year.

I think Mayock has got the best analysis, especially when it comes to evaluating intangibles like work ethic and character. I also think his analysis mirrors the critical thinking that most franchises do in evaluating players.

The same guys who love Coples love themselves some Albert Haynesworth in a Bills uniform. You can't coach up work ethic. It's an intangible that you either have or don't have. You can't learn it. You can't buy it. You can't coach it. You don't suddenly obtain or attain it. You must make it. Haynesworth has talent. Always has. He just doesn't want to do the work. Talent is like a big block of fine marble. Takes a dedicated stonecutter to shape themselves a masterpiece. No team wants a player that takes plays or whole games off. For the one great play Haynesworth will give you, a less talented player can give you a good all around game for half the price and problems.

It's positive news. A trade that worked out for both teams AND the player, and the trade partner is off in the hinterlands of the NFC West. Take those gems when you can get them.

I really think since we're getting all these guys, it's time to activate Jeff George.

It's a what if to consider. No bonus whatsoever would be the slight of slights to Manning.
