Trump vs Clinton: Pre Convention matchup
dpberr replied to Dorkington's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
People who don't vote are the biggest losers. I loathe me a sideline sitter. -
RD 1, Pick 19: DE Shaq Lawson, Clemson University

A great pick. Only surprise is he lasted to #19. -
Fitz calls his shot -Update Signed w/Jets
dpberr replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I doubt RF will again outplay the value of his contract and that's why the Jets are balking at the big payday. He didn't get "worse" as the season wore on last year. He's actually a very consistent player. Defenses got better at keying off his habits and tendancies as a passer. Like I said when he was our QB, he lights it up in the first couple games but once teams have tape, that consistency is a killer and he's reluctant to change. I had little doubt we'd be successful against him because nobody knows him like his former teammates. -
I agree. His personality reminds me of Aaron Maybin's personality. You're never sure how really interested he is in playing football. Read the piece ESPN recently did on Nkemdiche. I came away with an impression of a physically talented individual with casual interest in football as a career.

A note for you and your mower regardless of what you buy: Try as hard as you can NOT to put ethanol mixed gasoline into it. If you have a spot where you can get regular gasoline without the ethanol, your new small engine will love you for it.

All Hail Doug Whaley! Look At All He's Done!
dpberr replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like what Doug Whaley has done. With one exception. Cutting FJ still bothers me. I think his presence would have been a plus last year with the locker room whispers and the times this team seemed to have zero leaders on the field. One of those decisions where he needed to consider more than the numbers. As for picking players tonight, I'm very confident in our scouting department. -
The Spurs/Thunder series will easily go 6 games. Probably 7. The Clippers are done. All they've got for offense is Jamal Crawford. JJ Redick isn't at 100%. I think the Warriors are in trouble. Curry's injuries are the type that can be re-injured real fast and that team plays with less confidence when he's not out there.

Jaylon Smith - What round is he worth the risk?
dpberr replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have drop foot in both feet from a flu shot gone REAL bad. I wear AFOs. If that's true and he's got drop foot, that's bad news. I can tell you this - with drop foot, you only run in the case of fire or zombie hoard. You're not doing it for fun. Drop foot beats the hell out of your ankles, knees and your gait overall. -
Mike Tirico leaving ESPN (update- Skip Bayless too)

Mike Tirico leaving ESPN (update- Skip Bayless too)
dpberr replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think ESPN remains committed to cutting salaries. He, along with Bayliss were probably going to be asked to take a paycut or be released so they bounced. It's weird at ESPN. The SO was watching General Hospital the other night and Stephen A. Smith was on GH playing a private investigator. And even more oddly, not shouting at the actors. -

My guess is that they will try very hard to put a woman in the booth with Gruden. If so, Doris Burke would be my choice. I like the way she calls the basketball games. Allegedly, she's called some college football games. Whatever they do, no more shouting. It's like all those guys did their broadcast training reading severe weather bulletins. -
I never thought I'd find Kim Dickens annoying in any role she played. Until this show. If you got rid of the teenagers, most of that episode was about Cliff Curtis playing boat mechanic. It'd be like an entire Star Trek episode on Scotty cleaning the warp drive. The one thing that keeps me watching is what Strand is up to.

Sam Bradford Wants Out of Philly; Crawls Back to Eagles
dpberr replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no idea why Bradford wants a trade. His best spot is right where he is. So what they draft a QB. Obviously with both he and Daniel drawing lots of guaranteed money the Eagles are planning on having their pick sit for this year, if not the next. -
I'll say that the show has been a little more interesting over the last two episodes. If it wasn't for the dumbest teenagers in the galaxy however, things would go a lot smoother. Considering the interest they put on the Asian woman in the Flight 462 webisodes, I imagine we'll be seeing her again.

My $.02. If you must buy from a big box store, go with a Honda. I wouldn't buy any other brand at the store. This site has a lot of reviews on a lot of mowers. http://www.mowersdirect.com/vanity_page2.php?page_name=walk-behind-lawn-mowers I'd check out John Deere and Husqvarna dealerships if you have one nearby.

How bad are Bad Boy Browns supposed to be?
dpberr replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They will be better than advertised. I think San Fran will be a disaster this year. Not a lot of talent and they added Chip Kelly who did everything possible to keep a talented Eagles team out of the playoffs. -
Out of all his music, Cream was the song I liked the most. As a casual fan of Prince, two things that stands out about him IMO is that he was always likable and he was an exceptionally talented songwriter - not only for his own songs but he wrote hits for other bands.

Bills enamored with Cardale Jones?
dpberr replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Much like Robert Nkemdiche, I think Cardale Jones has a high Maybin bust quotient. You just don't know if he's really "into" playing football. I watched the entirety of Gruden's show where he was the focus based on all the talk on here about him. I came away with the feeling he's interested in football - to a point. -
I do my own. I have 1.5 acres. It's mostly trees that wreck havoc on lawns. I'd say maybe we have 25,000 square feet of total lawn. My neighbor hires a service to do his similarly sized yard. They come out at least twice a year with various chemicals. His yard is superior to mine. Not a single dandelion or blade of crabgrass, dark green and full. (We have so many owls and hawks that voles are a nearly non-existent species.) I think it comes down to what you're looking to get out of it. Modest improvement, do it yourself, see what happens. You want the A+ HGTV lawn, probably a service.
-
They paid both those guys (Bradford and Daniel) a lot of guaranteed money too. Even QB starved teams aren't going to give the Eagles a kings ransom for either Bradford or Daniel.

Our currency has had all sorts of people on it over the years. I'm fine with it. I'm glad they are going to introduce somebody that wasn't a member of the government. I wish they'd change it up more often.

Defense wins championships. in 2015, with the exception of the Detroit Lions, the top ten teams in number of sacks were playoff teams. The bottom ten, including the Bills at 31 - no playoff teams.

Bills considering trading up to #2 pick
dpberr replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I too believe that if the Bills did this sort of deal it's for Myles Jack. He is a blue chip weakside linebacker. Right now, you've got Zach Brown starting there. The only thing that makes me pause is if the Bills have the ammo to get to #2 without sacrificing Tyrod Taylor in the process. I suspect they do not.
