  1. The Pegulas didn't buy this team for you. Or me. Or anyone in Buffalo. It was a business decision. They purchased the team because they think they can make money. That's a-ok in my book. It wasn't a charity decision. While I understand the sentiment because Buffalo without the Bills is a painful thought, I think the ring kissing and their anointment as royalty is too much. Buffalo is deserving of an NFL franchise. Always has been. It doesn't need "mercy". Many fans have significant concerns/issues with what they see on the field, and they have just as much right to air those issues. We've all invested our own time and own money. That's what makes this board great and unique - We all can do that.
  2. You're more optimistic than I am. I see lots of poor personnel choices there. Hiring coordinators before they are ready, running offenses and defenses that don't work and getting used to doing so. Ryan has failed in three cities and had an optimum situation in Buffalo and still failed. Thurman saw things decline in NY and Buffalo and was happy to keep collecting the paycheck and being a yes man. "Yes" men make poor chiefs because they are used to having someone else make the decisions and are uncomfortable with the responsibility. Those are traits I wouldn't want in a coordinator. I wouldn't want these guys to wait until an interview to tell me "it'll be different this time! Promise!" when their history and past results suggest otherwise.
  3. What is up with these crap coordinators getting interviews? Why is Rob Ryan getting an interview? Thurman? How is Hackett an OC again? Why is Greg Olsen even in a discussion? It's amazing that teams spend countless hours and treasure finding the "right" head coach but when it comes to coordinators, they embrace mediocrity. If I'm Washington and my choice is between Ryan and Thurman, I pick Jeff, the 25 year old intern. I'll take my chances with Jeff.
  4. I watched the pilot episode of SIX last night on the History Channel. Walton Goggins (Shield, SoA) stars. It was above average with some room to grow. They get the military part right IMO, and the primary story is interesting. However, the family stories are cliche and feel stolen from an Army Wives episode.
  5. He's yet another mediocre coach who under performs consistently. How do these guys continue to get jobs? They have some damn good agents. A quote from the Florida Times Union when the Jags hired him: "Oakland’s run game statistics were woeful last year. The Raiders were last in yards per game (77.5) and rushing touchdowns (four). In Skipper’s six years, the Raiders’ running game finished 21st, second, seventh, 28th, 12th and last. Oakland’s combined six-year run-game ranking was 16th in yards and 12th in yards per attempt."
  6. If your kids are constantly sick from colds, flu, etc., try a bleach bath once a week. They are effective at curbing bacteria that's on the skin, under the nails, etc. Lots of internet guidance on them. Most pediatricians, after your 358th visit to their office, will recommend trying one. Don't use fabric softener on your towels. Bleach your bath towels every other cycle, washcloths every cycle.
  7. Olsen is terrible. He's pretty consistent at being terrible. Hire someone with a proven, successful track record or hire somebody with some promise.
  8. Rivers isn't going to want to play in Buffalo. However, I wouldn't rule out Rivers replacing Palmer in Arizona. CP isn't a starter anymore - and the Cardinals window is open.
  9. The Dolphins. Miami trades RT in the off season and pairs Taylor with Ajayi and that above average offensive line and the "better than the Bills have" WR corps. In a way, it's a bad year for Taylor because while there are a lot of openings, there are also a lot of quarterbacks when you tally up FA, draft and possible trades.
  10. I think there are a lot of QBs and a lot of spots which makes it a buyer's market. I think Arizona, Miami and Minnesota are dark horse openings.
  11. The coaching choices have been inspired. I'm pleasantly surprised.
  12. That quote doesn't make sense to me. Does it make sense to you? Sounds like something Movie Trailer Guy would say.
  13. The original MacGyver or the lame new one? What would MacGyver and Walker be doing? Fighting or defusing a bomb in a 4th grade Home Economics classroom? It's like comparing K.I.T.T. vs. Airwolf.
  14. Has anyone created a Terry Pegula bingo? The McDermott bingo is hilarious.
  15. "We bought teams to keep them in the area and to flourish with them. I let the coaches and the players be out front and be the story." I'm ok with all of that. He owns the business. However, the dysfunctional comments he finds insulting comes from their poor job at communication with the press and fan base. They are getting ripped off by the people in the public relations department. You have owners shooting out press releases, the owners aren't even on the same page with each other, GMs and interim head coaches stumbling, no press secretary, - it has the appearance of chaos. If you want to stop being called a bunch of dysfunctional amateurs, stop selling the perception you are. It's simple. .
  16. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/mike-greenberg-leaving-mike-mike-host-show-espn-article-1.2944777 Greenberg to host his own show on ESPN. Wingo, Golic Jr. slated as replacements.
  17. Again, a proper media guy or gal would have had Marrone prepared for that obvious question.
  18. Not to mention the "blowup" was nearly 12 years ago.
  19. Trying to make Los Angeles and California football happen will be another nail in the NFL coffin. It was always unstable even when the demographics favored it decades ago. The Rams and the Raiders didn't move around as they did because they simply had too many fans and were making too much money. The league should be looking at consolidation.
  20. I have not met this Scott Berchtold individual.
  21. Best - He makes some downright inspired FA and trade moves. Worst - Cutting Fred Jackson. His leadership has been missed on a team that desperately needed it in 2015 and 2016. It set the wrong tone.
  22. I see Kim phoning in from Aspen excited the Bills are going to hire the NFL's first female head coach in Kris Richards. Terry phoning in from Buffalo speed reading through all the notes Whaley has sent him but he hasn't read, curious why the WR on the team will make a good head coach... Doug phoning in from the darkened front office where he's managed to fool everyone that he's not there and can't take media phone calls... Everyone likes someone different...then you hear Terry quickly speed dialing another extension... "Sorry to bother you Russ, but well Russ..., we can't decide. What do you think?" And then Russ smiles slowly and widely as he stares at Two Bills Drive, open on his laptop, and starts talking.. As the scene starts fading to black, you hear Terry go "That's a great idea, Russ. Let's run with that."
  23. The Ravens approach is probably more or less the standard approach to handling such press conferences in the NFL. That's what makes the Bills approach feel amateur, aloof and unprofessional in comparison.
  24. I see getting over the hump and into the playoffs as an incremental stage in shaping an annually competitive team. Much like the Pittsburgh Pirates who suffered a similar drought, getting into the playoffs was a very big deal. It reset expectations.
  25. Haha. All three are LONG overdue. Plus, with three items, it gives Kim, Terry and Doug all something to "decide" on.
