  1. Nostalgia? Hasn't really worn off for me. I'm sure 90% of this board pines to live days like that again. Have you ever wondered how you'd feel if the Bills became annually successful? How your perspective would change? The decisions made in the aftermath of the MCM is where I felt the Bills were no longer "the" Bills and you could feel a palatable shift in the franchise.
  2. Her career is completely over. If CNN of all news networks cans you from an event that's over six months away, you're super, ultra, fantastically...done.
  3. The ability and willingness to make changes at halftime. If "your" scheme has been discovered, and it will, don't be a slave to it. Coaches like BB prey on the coaches with the stonecutter mentality to game planning.
  4. Perhaps they've been told by the team doctors that his foot will never be 100 percent and prone to reinjury. I suspect that thats the case personally. You'll fix it, heal it, promptly reinjure it.
  5. I think the opinion pieces about Whaley's interview made the journalists who wrote them appear small. As a casual reader, and one who does not routinely read their work, IMO, the pieces came across as if written with personal animus.
  6. The Bills can afford neither the deliberate "rebuild" or "tank job." It's playoffs or bust at this point. The 8-8 team is dead last in operating income or what you'd consider "profit." Creating a worse on-field product, even temporarily, means a lot more Pegula dollars going into the business. According to the Forbes 2016 valuations of NFL teams, the Bills had just 26 million in profit. The 31st team, the Detroit Lions had 64 million. That's a big gap just between the cellar dwellers. The only way the Pegulas improve that is by making the product more desirable. To me, such low profit is an effect of not being in the playoffs for nearly two decades.
  7. IMO, I wouldn't chase a temporary position even if it has some positives. It's risky. There is no guarantee that you will be offered a full time position at the end of the contract. You can do an incredible job and still not get the offer due to the health of the economy, the health of the sector you work in, budgetary constraints, new management, etc. Further, whether anyone likes it or not, we're due for a recession. Signs abound that the economy is unsettled. I'd keep the job you have and if unhappy, keep looking for a permanent position.
  8. +1. Professional weirdo these days.
  9. I'd be done with the NFL product if the Buffalo Bills were no longer a franchise. Outside of the Bills, my interest in NFL football has diminished from where it used to be. I'm bored with the product.
  10. The WORST thing about Bob Villa is he was able to masquerade as a knowledgeable craftsman all those years on This Old House and got away with it. That guy couldn't frame a door without Norm telling how to do it.
  11. There's no slogan! Don't we *need* a slogan?
  12. GotG #2 was very good. Probably the last movie I saw in a theater was the first one. I'd say that the Captain America and GotG are more entertaining than the other ones. I have no idea how they are going to cram the Guardians and the Avengers into one movie. It'll be like a 1970s disaster movie. I won't see Alien:Covenant because at its core, it boils down to just more dumb people visiting a strange planet they shouldn't without ever thinking "oh, there might be some hostile **** there, perhaps we should pack LOTS and LOTS of guns, just in case."
  13. I found Matthew Modine. He's the bad guy in Stranger Things. Emilio Estevez is a good one - I had to check he was still alive. He was in some bombs - Freejack and Judgement Night. If your cable company hates you and you get AXS, Tom Green has a lonely, sad little talk show on that network.
  14. Goes to show that these networks also use the "I've heard of him..." approach to human resources. Of course this all means that Cutler will surprisingly wind up being a far more popular and entertaining broadcaster than Tony Romo.
  15. Is Woody Harrelson narrating that? I think they take the whole slogan thing way too seriously. Even Tony Robbins isn't this serious about personal development and goal reaching.
  16. Can't say I did either. IMO, she seemed to have an uneven career. I forgot that she was on CSI for a couple seasons before it ended. It appears she will be in the Death Wish remake. Yes, they are remaking Death Wish.
  17. He seems to be doing a lot of work (for better or worse) the C grade TV movie circuit lately - Lifetime and WWE-Produced movies.
  18. Hartnett is another good mystery. As for Tom Sizemore, I only know that he's had significant substance abuse issues. I recall they led to his tv series Robbery/Homicide being cancelled prematurely.
  19. My two candidates: The Dixie Chicks: Heard one of their more famous songs in a restaurant the other night. They have completely disappeared. What happened? Did their protest of the Iraq War really kill their careers? Elisabeth Shue: Saw the Saint was on television the other night. The 1997 film had Val Kilmer in it and she was probably at the height of her fame in the late 90s but I haven't seen her in anything in probably 20 years.
  20. I'm intrigued the Pegulas have made money conducting business this way. They appear to get emotionally invested in people quickly and it's not something you traditionally see from business owners.
  21. I support the Bills decision to decline that option. IMO, that foot issue will be a chronic issue that will always get tweaked by the rigors of playing professional football. He'll get a month, maybe two until it's damaged and/or incredibly painful. Maybe things work out, and that'll be great for the Bills and SW.
  22. I've been a fan of the Spurs since the late 80s and last night was the worst game they've ever played. Ever. The figured out the Thunder so I'm hoping they figure out the Rockets. Unfortunately for the Spurs, Aldridge is officially a shell of his former self. He's playing not to get hurt. I understand where that's coming from but in combination with Danny Green's 3-pt. touch gone too, it's all ISO Leonard and that's not enough.
  23. I voted for Peterman not as a Bills fan but I watched the entirety of his Gruden QB Camp and came away very impressed. I was stunned the Bills got to pick him. On the opposite end, I am not a Patrick Mahomes fan. I think he'll get frustrated having to learn to be an NFL QB and leave the Chiefs for the baseball career.
  24. Like, but don't love it. Nervous about giving a rookie head coach who hasn't won a game so much power and influence so soon. That'll boom or bust with no middle ground. The Pegulas are a mess as owners. On the other hand, the team has some solid talent, sharp assistant head coaches and had a quality draft on paper.
  25. First Class and DoFP were pretty good, arguably the best in the X-Men line with Logan in the conversation. Apocalypse was too quick and lazy all around - lazy writing, casting and acting. I think people, other than hardcore fans, are getting confused because First Class was an origin story and Logan felt like a conclusion.
