  1. If he came to Buffalo then he and Brandon Marshall could re-light the "popcorn muscles" fire.
  2. Were you hoping to get one?
  3. I just love your optimism.
  4. Actually, if we beat NE this week and the NYJ win, too, then the Jets will be playing for the division title against us, so I would then call that a meaningful game. GO BILLS!!!!
  5. Look at a team like San Diego or Indianapolis. When is the last time you heard either of these teams signing a HUGE free agent. In San Diego, it's actually quite the opposite. They have let go guys like LT, Drew Brees, Michael Turner, Shawne Merriman, Antonio Cromartie, and so on. They trust their management to bring in fresh new talent through the draft and don't want to overpay for something they know they can get cheaper(which is probably why Vincent Jackson and Marcus McNeill will be playing elsewhere in the near future). I don't think the Bills will ever be a team that signs top tier FA. I really think that Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey are on the right track and I am really excited to see what additions are brought in this offseason.
  6. Just as far as being excited for the future, if I can put it that simply, I am way more optimistic right now than I was 1 year ago. GO BILLS!!!!
  7. I'm more than happy with 1!
  8. I really like him too!!! ...but I also like Poz. Sorry.
  9. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/condescension Ummm...yes it is apparently. Obviously you are not a Harvard graduate. ...nor am I.
  10. Absolutely. Maybe my post looks like I've given up on him, but that's not what I meant. I think he still has a boatload of potential. I was just pointing out that the yardage THIS year isn't impressive to me. Except for the 90+ yard KO return for TD vs the Pats* Even the announcers in yesterday's game said when they sat and talked with him the night before he couldn't believe the difference in the speed of the pro game opposed to the college game. They said the learning curve has been steep for him but I'm thinking he'll get it down. Maybe a Darren McFadden type of turn around next year!! GO BILLS!!! Please clarify, I have no idea what you're talking about.
  11. I am not quite sure how the yardage was narrowed all the way down to tenths of a yard, but whatever. I am assuming that 90% of these yards are on kickoff/punt returns. It's not that impressive. You get an almost automatic 20-25 yards per KO return if you're decent.
  12. I don't know what each team's management thinks, but I think that Fitzpatrick is better than or the equivilant of.... Chad Henne (Miami) Mark Sanchez (NY Jets) Colt McCoy or Jake Delhomme (Cleveland) Carson Palmer (Cincinnati) David Garrard (Jacksonville) Vince Young or Kerry Collins (Tennessee) Matt Cassel (KC) Kyle Orton (Denver) Jason Campbell or Bruce Gradkowski (Oakland) Donovan McNabb or Rez Grossman (Washington) Matt Stafford (Detroit) Brett Favre or Tarvaris Jackson (Minnesota) Jimmy Claussen (Carolina) Alex or Troy Smith (San Francisco) John Skelton or Derek Anderson (Arizona) Matt Hasselbeck or Charlie Whitehurst (Seattle) Jay Cutler (Chicago) ...you think Fitz throws too many INTs? The only guys I put over Fitzpatrick would be.... Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, Joe Flacco, Peyton Manning, Matt Schaub, Philip Rivers, Tony Romo, Michael Vick, Eli Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, and Matt Ryan. Not in that order. I think Josh Freeman and Sam Bradford have tremendous upside and could end up above Fitz soon but I would right now place them equal to him or slightly below. So by my rankings, Fitz isn't an elite passer by any means, but there are only 12 teams in the NFL that CLEARLY wouldn't take Fitzpatrick over who they already have.
  13. Ummm...I saw only 1 TD that counted during the game, and only 1 on the stat sheet. He's sure shown a lot this year and I hope he keeps it up, but come on guys, you can never have too many weapons/options at the skill positions. I mean we did lose Evans and Parrish for the year. Depth is never a bad thing.
  14. Perfect....concrete-like field....icy conditions....single digit temperatures...Brett may die tonight.
  15. 23 TDs- 12 INTs in just 12 games. In comparison, Aaron Rodgers has 23 TDs-10 INTs in 13 games this year. I'd say that's good company.
  16. I have heard Bill Cowher say he will never talk about a job that is already taken. Sure there are rumors going around, but I highly doubt he walks around with a little Christmas list of teams he would like to coach in his back pocket. Now that his wife has passed away (which is what I think kept him from returning to coach sooner) he will seriously entertain intriguing offers and return to coaching whenever the NFL and it's players get their heads out of their asses and get a new CBA hashed out.
  17. I'm hoping Freddy can muster 75 yards per game. Seeing I need a monster week to win in my fantasy league playoffs I would like to see him get the entire 225 vs the Dolphins, maybe with 2 or 3 TDs.
  18. An NFC problem? Maybe nobody whines about it because it was New England who missed out, but in the 2008 season the Chargers won the division with an 8-8 record while the Pats* DIDN'T EVEN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS with an 11-5 record (they lost out on a tiebreaker with the Dolphins for the AFC East) and the NY Jets even had a winning record and missed out. I don't know if there's any way that a division winner gets NO playoff berth, but I think maybe you change the rules (NOT THIS YEAR) to re-seed playoff teams by their records. So if a wild card team has a better record than a division winner, they get seeded higher and would actually host a playoff game.
  19. If I have a nightmare tonight from a grocery shopping experience gone wrong, I've got no one to blame but myself for looking at that photo so long. I start chuckling in that real nervous sort of way. Well done, Meathead, you've made a lasting impression. GO BILLS!!! and not pre-packaged skinned faces.
  20. Off the subject, the photo on your avatar is terrifying. On the subject, there are still 3 big divisional games in which still need to be played that will go a long way in determining if Fitz is our long term answer, but if we win all 3 or 2 of 3 and Fitz plays like he's been playing for most of this season, he should without question be the man going into next season. If we really like a QB in the draft and have a chance to get him, I think we should and let him learn under Fitz for a couple years (see Aaron Rodgers) and MAYBE in a couple years we have the same "problem" that SD had with Brees and Rivers.
  21. I have to agree with the Ravens in there, too. I don't know if they'll go into Gillette Stadium or Heinz Field and win there in January, but I would put them in the conversation. Of all the AFC teams I wouldn't mind seeing in the Super Bowl, the Chargers or the Ravens would probably be my preference (if SD gets in, that is). KC would be an interesting turn around story if they were to pull off some upsets, imagine Matt Cassel beating Tom Brady in the AFC Championship game in NE.
  22. I certainly think we're capable of pulling off an upset here, as long as Fitz plays one of his really good games this year. I actually feel like we can pull off the 1/2 division sweep at the end of the year and finish the season with a 6-2 record (wouldn't that be something?). It would be a really nice treat for the fans to end our embarrassing losing streak to the Patriots*. While I agree with your assessment that the Pats* are not the team they were in 2007, they have proven themselves (so far, at least) as the class of the AFC and one of the top 2 teams in the NFL. In another season they may not even be a top 5 team, but IMO, this year (given the parity) they're the best (sure hope to god that changes in the playoffs!!)
  23. What happens in Detroit, stays in Detroit.
  24. I would not be shocked at all if it was a New England vs Pittsburgh AFC Championship game. So please, if you don't mind, tell me who isn't overrated, in your opinion. In the AFC, I can't name a team who would beat either of these 2 teams in the playoffs, aside from San Diego, who may not even make the playoffs.
  25. They have beaten Baltimore, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, NY Jets, and Chicago this year so far(all teams that will probably be in the playoffs this year). They laid 2 eggs this year against the Browns and the Jets, other than that, only the Falcons could be "ranked" as a higher team this year. I sure hope they get knocked out of the playoffs, but they've got the makings for another Super Bowl run. I don't really think of overrated when I think of them. The way they embarrassed the Steelers at Heinz Field told me a lot about them.
