  1. Lynch- 52 yards on 22 attempts 1 td 1 fumble 3 receptions for 16 yards. Forsett- 13 yards on 3 carries Leon Washington- 40 yards on 6 carries 1 td
  2. This will be easier 2002- 1st rd pick- Daniel Graham 2nd rd- Deion Branch 2003- Bethel Johnson 2nd rd 2004- Ben Wastson- 2nd rd 2006- Maroney 1st rd/ Chad Jackson 2nd rd 2010- Rob Gronkowski 2nd rd They've spent 3 picks on te's in the 1st and 2nd rd's in the past 6 years 2 of which are no longer with the team. They've also traded a 2nd rd pick for Wes Welker. Take notice of something. Benjarvus green ellis- 2 of his top 3 rushing performances this year came against the Bills. He has 2 100 yard games. 1 against the Bills. Danny Woodhead- has 1 100 yard game this year. Against who else? The Bills. Outside of playing Buffalo the patriots have a very stagnant run game. Don't be surprised should they run into a team like Baltimore or KC who actually stick to the run, that they'll be an early playoff exit, just like they were when the Ravens on the legs of Ray Rice knocked them around. Less we also forget on the subject of running backs that in 2003 The Patriots traded a 2nd rd pick to the Bengals to acquire Corey Dillon. Let's not make NE out to be a team that doesn't use high end picks to acquire Rbs/Wr's/Db's cause recent and past history suggests differently. I'm more inclined to agree that NE is a good team because they do tend to hit quite well on the high end picks they've spent over the years on defensive lineman such as Seymour/Wilfork/Warren, have quality depth to go behind it, and have a steady offensive line, with a top tier qb and coaching staff. There is no magical formula to drafting. Good players are good players, but The Pats have missed on quite a few.
  3. Offensively if this game taught me anything. It's that Steve Johnson/Roosevelt/Hubbard at wr are downgrades from Lee Evans/Johnson/Parrish/Nelson/Jones at wr. Brian Brohm is still a question mark, and he was put in a bad position with a depleted wr core. Still going against a backup defense. Even with Gaileys unwilligness to give the Ball to Fred Jackson I expected him to at least seem competent. He made a few nice throws early on, but he has to learn when to take a sack, and when to pull the trigger. He was highly uncomfortably for a variety of reasons. Incomplete grade imo. still have no tight end worth a damn. Defensively this game taught me that we need basically an entire new front 7. If opposing offensive players were running in Quick Mud I'm pretty sure our lb core wouldn't be able to keep up with them. Actually more dissapointed in Moats than the others. Mostly cause Moats was showing some good promise the last few weeks. The rest of the lb's aren't even worth talking about. This front 7 is an embarrsement to the sport of football.
  4. I'm sure they will take a qb, but taking a backup qb, at the expense of trying to improve this defense would be a very horrible move
  5. Yeah Cam Newton will be great sitting behind Fitz, with a clipboard, learning in practice, and his ability to help us stop the run or rush the passer sure will come in handy
  6. It's a good philosophy to have. One that several teams employ. Like the Pats, despite a few years back when they had Seymour, drafted Wilfork,Warren.Yeah they traded Seymour, but still went out and drafted Ron Brace. Or the Giants despite having Tuck/Osi continue to stack pass rushers,Like Jason Pierre Paul.Kiwanuka, chris canty etc etc. Good teams don't go "Well we have 1 guy there let's go elsewhere. Re-signing Merriman is no reason at all not to look for pass rushers.
  7. I was gonna go but once the jags lost to the redskins putting the jets in the postseason I sold my tix. Was looking forward to possibly knocking the jets out of contention, but yeah not worth it now. Plust its suppouse to rain.
  8. The way to play the pats defensively is to scrap any zone coverage. Brady has showed repeatedly he'll eat that up for breakfast, lunch, dinner, bed time snack, while he's sleeping. You get the picture. You play man to man vs their smallish receivers with double coverage on their tight ends, cause thats where the most damage, and their ability to pick up 3rd and medium range conversions will come from. You send pressure up the middle at Brady, and don't enable him to step up cleanly in the pocket. You have to send consistent pressure, and take chances your secondary will occasionally get beat. The guy has shown over the years if you just play coverage he's more than patient enough to dink and dunk you down the entire field all day. You need a big day from the middle of your defense ilb's. Kyle Williams and Poz will absolutely have to have monster games. The packers laid out the blueprint. However I don't expect the bills to measure that kind of defensive success against the Pats. We just don't have the defensive personnel. Our best shot at beating NE, is a steady dose of Fred Jackson. In this case the old adage being the best defense is a good offense. Don't turn the ball over, conservative football keeping the ball out of Brady's hands. It's a test that while i'm sure the Bills will fight they're just not there as a team yet to hang with NE. There's no shame in that. So long as they don't lay down scared. As far as what it would mean to beat the Pats? Getting the proverbial monkey off your back could work wonders for the future. The aura of "Well this game is a loss' will be gone, and everyone can stop hanging their heads in shame, knowing full well we can compete/and or beat all 3 division opponents. One can Hope....
  9. Fred Jackson reminds me a lot like former patriot/jet Curtis Martin. Good shifty in between the tackles runner, who can break a few tackles, solid receiver, good with blitz pickup,is well respected by teammates, fans, and opposing teams and coaches on and off the field. He won't wow anyone with breakaway speed, but feed him the ball consistently 20-25 times a game run/pass and you can build an offense around his talent. Very few that I can recall. The only 'gift game' in The Brady vs Bills era I can recall in the Bruschi "American of the Century' return game. Eric Moulds getting called for a late pi that esentially sealed the win for NE. Other than that they've been lucky to beat us Once with Mckelvin's fumbleitis. For the most part they've just outright dominated us something like 408-126 in the last 20 games against them. When it comes to football at this point there is nothing I'd get more satisfaction out of, than to end the losing streak to NE. I respect, but truly despise that team.
  10. If Jr Seau wasn't busy driving off cliffs, he'd be waiting for a phone call for "another chance to win"
  11. Considering the Colts had Freeney/Mathis already the hughes pick didn't make much sense. The Colts lack the creativity of the Giants to get there multitidues of defensive ends onto the field, and as of now Eric Foster is a better player than Hughes. So is Dawson,Hughes wasn't gonna see the field much. To compare it to Spiller is short sighted. We went into the offseason with a big need for an offensive playmaker. Now obviously Spiller hasn't lived up to that billing, but on the surface it's what he was drafted to be, and one of our biggest needs thought to be "At that time". Jerry Hughes was drafted to be defensive depth. When the Colts had bigger needs on their oline.
  12. The only reason Leonhard even got a chance to become adequate in Baltimore was because of an injury to Dawan Landry. He than became the about the 8th-9th best player on the Ravens defense. Followed Ryan to the Jets where he became the 8th-9th best player on the Jets defense. He's hardly a guy that a defense is built around. He doesn't get picks, he doesn't defend many passes. He's become a better tackler over the years, but when it comes down to it is a liability in coverage.
  13. Tim Tebow will make one heck of a short yardage fullback in this league
  14. As much as I hate NE, the Pats. Maybe it's cause I live in NJ, but Jets fans for a team that's relatively new to the whole "winning" thing are some insufferable aholes. I can't stand the Patriots more as a team, but they never struck me as a "football fan base" so I can't drum up the same kind of hate I can for the Jets. I don't remember the last time Belichick/Brady lost to the same team twice in a year. I think it was 06 against the Colts in the regular season and playoffs. Either way I'm thinking Ne 24-16
  15. 2004 vs the Steelers 3rd string, will go down as the most depressing game of the last decade. For playoff implications. Coming off a 6 game win streak and all we had to do was beat the 3rd sting Steelers @ home, and we were in the playoffs. Language that would make the church lady blush was said repeatedly that day
  16. Jim Leonhard wishes he was Mark Kelso. At this pace it'll take Leonhard 36 seasons to accumalte 30 picks. the guy has 5 picks only 3 sacks and 1 forced fumble in 6 years. I never did/never will see the big deal about Leonhard. He wasn't a good enough punt returner to keep him on the roster. Parrish was/is much better. His contributions on the field weren't enough to warrant extending him. This isn't a Pat Williams/Winfield/Fletcher level player where we can sit and go "Damn how are we gonna replace him. Secondary has been the least of the Bills problems. I'll never forget Leonhard last year here. A Bills/Jags game Leonhard was repeatedly getting abused so much that Rich Gannon doing pbp said something along the lines of. "This safety looks like he doesn't even belong in the NFL and has no place on the field" He's not a liability in the Blitz happy Jets defense good for him. He's hardly a player worth missing.
  17. I'm stupiddly ecited fore tomarrow FitzGibbons 2 Steeph Johnsson all day
  18. Frank Jefferson is bst awll porpoises bak weave had cince Thurmon Thompson FitzGibbons will sit up the run game width the pass to Stan Johannsen
  19. Yeah they're selling the Johnson and Fitz. What they need to be selling is a Fred Jackson throwback in blue and white
  20. The NFL has been/will be a "What have you done for me lately" business, and recent trends. This is one of those nitpicking inside the #'s instances, when comparing what Gailey is doing, to what Jauron did. From week 7 of the 2008 season-week 8 when he was fired The Buffalo Bills under Jauron went 6-13. Not exactly worthy of a guy who after a 5-1 start received a 3 year contract extension. This is one of those times where you'd have to look inside the #'s at how the overall team is playing. There is little doubt we're much better off offensively under Chan Gailey than we ever were or had the potential to be with Jauron. Defensively a wash. We were horrible under Jauron (say what you want about turnovers we werent any closer to being a good d unit than either). At best I'd chalk this debate up to one that's yet to be decided until Gailey has had more than 10 games as coach.
  21. Actually Johnson reminds me more of Reggie Wayne, in his ability to run routes, and while not the fastest guy, is deceptively quick, and finds open spots in the coverage, won't out run many people in a foot race, but is a good open field runner after the catch.
  22. Not to mention had Fitz and Johnson connected on that 1st deep pass it probably would've been a td. If anything Gailey has too much confidence in Fitzpatrick, and lacks confidence in the the oline to have a consistently productive run game. Otherwise we'd more than likely be 4-5 right now instead of 1-8
  23. The only person I can think of who can challenge for the mvp outside of Vick is Matt Ryan. From a football standpoint Vick's gotta be in serious consideration
