  1. A lot like I didn't get how Bills fans could root for the pats to win in the playoffs. I don't get how ppl can root for the Jets, now that the pats are eliminated. GO STEELERS.
  2. Exactly. The Broncos became a cluster fu*k. Cutler/Marshall/Scheffler/alphonso smith. They cut off their nose to spite their face. This wasn't the Chargers who had a franchise qb to replace a franchise qb. The broncos screwed the pooch. Cutler benfited going to a better organization, and has had his first winning season since highschool. So good for him. Sure wish the Bills would've been the team who originaly drafted/traded for him though. P.s- With the Broncos hiring of John Fox, and a possible switch to the 4-3, maybe they'll look to trade Dumervil, and continue their cycle of getting rid of elite level players.
  3. Ehh I kinda agree. Moss at his best takes pressure off receivers, and it opens up all the short crossing routes that NE Loves to run. Moss became more or less a decoy with the Pats, and was disinterested. He bounced around 3 teams within the matter of just a few weeks. He might've helped, but its tough to say cause the Randy Moss of 2010 was not the Randy Moss of 2007.
  4. Yeah Revis pulled up lame, didn't come back in the game, and Cromartie shut down Moss the rest of the day.
  5. Dire Straits Hates the USA or the other way around not sure but yeah
  6. 19 of the past 20 games. Outscored by over 200+ pts allowed over 400+ pts in those games. They own us. It's been that bad. Until the Bills philosophy changes we won't beat ne
  7. The Bolded part is so true. The odds of getting a richard seymour type player with the #17 pick are very slim. Seymour when healthy is probably one of if not the single most dominant defensive linemen in football. Sanchez like most other qb's is a good qb when not faced with pressure, when you can get after him though he tends to be easily rattled, and is cutler esque in his poor decision making.
  8. You obviously need balance with both. On offense you can't just be a passing team. Take the Packers for instance, yes an outside observer would say "they're not a running team" No statistically they're not a good rush offense. However they put in attempts, which often times can be just as effective especially keeping teams off balance. With the emergence of James Starks just look how it's helping AaRon Rodgers, who's just out of this world good. You have to have a consistent running game, with a passing offense capable of putting points on the board. Defensively you have to be able to stop the runm, and make teams one dimensional . 3 of the 4 teams remaining are the top 3 rush d's in the NFL. Pitt/Chi/Jets. All 4 teams are in the top 10 in scoring defense. Yeah you need to be consistently good on both sides of the ball.
  9. What I will never get about some Bills fans, is their lapse of perspective. We've lost 19 of the last 20 games to the patriots outscored by 400+ -200 something, and been thoroughly dominated by them. Yet a large percentage of Bills fans tend to openly root for the Patriots/applaud them. I can't stand the Jets. I live in NJ I deal with it constantly. It's not cause they talk ****. To be honest if you can talk **** and back it up it makes it amusing. Hell I wish The Bills were like the Jets in that regard, with the players to back it up. It makes football fun to watch. It's the constant jets this/jets that and their fans that grate on me. As much as I hate the Jets I will openly root for every team that plays them to beat NE any single week. My full on hate as a Bills fan is dedicated to them. The Patriots of this decade are the Dolphins of the 70's. Its about time Ralph and his stooges woke up to this realization. Until they start operating as a team set out to beat the Patriots enjoy the 4-8 win seasons. P.S- With that said this week I'm a Steelers fan
  10. There was a great article in the NY Times the other day with Mangini laying out a basic blueprint on how to beat the Pats. Now for the most part it was what you expect a bunch of fluff for the sake of an article, but what caught my eye was where he was talking about during his time with the Jets, that their philosophy was simply to draft/acquire players for the sole purpose of beating NE, because if you're not beating NE you're not going to the playoffs. On the outside you would say no ****, but it talked about how they got revis to cover welker, how they drafted mangold to neutralize wilfork, and for the purpose of an inside running game. It just made me think we have one team in our division who's mission statement is to beat the Pats, and well the Bills who only care about beating the Dolphins. Mangini would make far too much sense due to his familiarity with the Jets, and yes most of the people the jets drafted that play for them were Mangini draft picks, and for his familiarity with Belichick, and the fact despite not having the greatest collection of talent, was able to beat him both with the Jets and The Browns. Common sense says it's a no brainer hire. Unfortunatly common sense also says Ralph won't eat George Edwards contract and shell out the money it would take to get Mangini. One can hope though
  11. Of course they have good defensive players. All 4 teams do. I'm not gonna sit here and tell you otherwise. The original statement was more about the lack of "Need" for a "franchise qb". Hey if you want to sit and argue that we should go out and build our defense on par with the best teams in the league again I'll agree. To discredit guys like Rodgers/Roethlisberger/Sanchez/Cutler though is a tad naive. Rodgers in his first 3 playoff games has more tds than Any qb in NFL History. Roethlisberger is in his 4th conference championship in 7 years already having won 2 superbowls. A Year after trading for Cutler the Bears are in the NFC Championship. Mark Sanchez 2 years and 2 afc championship apperances. It's not all smoke and mirrors, and part of the reason these teams are there, are because of the play of their quarterbacks. Unless you want to tell me That Todd Collins/Matt Flynn/Charlie Batch/Brunell would have these teams where they are, or duplicate their past success.
  12. While I agree. I'll just tell you all 4 qb's in the conference championships are 1st rd picks...just saying.
  13. I say the Jets are a much better football team than the Bills. Better oline/dline/wr's/te's/rb's/ dline/lb's/secondary and coaching staff. Sanchez had a 75 qb rating and completed under 55% of his passes this year, however the team around him affords him the opportunity to cover up his mistakes. He was a 1st rd pick for a reason though and more physically talented than Fitzpatrick. So I'd have to say Sanchez, but his regular season play makes that decision a bit tougher, than if you're looking at face value jmo.
  14. 1. Having the secondary/lbs flood the short areas of the field. The Pats offense lives and dies off the short passing game. Hell 70% of their pass plays this season where under 15 yeards. They beat your defense with formations allowing their receivers to catch 4 yard passes that turn into 8-10 yard gains. If you have good secondary/lb's to cut this off it forces brady to hold the ball longer. 2. Generating pressure. Not consistently blitzing, but taking your chances. It's best to play man 2 man coverage on ne, and hope your dline can get after brady. Shaun Ellis was huge for the jets today. 3. Run The Football/time posession offense. The best way to beat the pats is to not let Brady on the field. This place turns into a patriots love palace. It's kind of disgusting. Almost nothing gives me more joy than to see that team lose.
  15. If anything I expected Bradford to improve and McCoy to regress. Mostly due to Pat Schumer, who was so ridiculously conservative. He held Bradford back this year, and will be the downfall of Colt in Cleveland. Especially if they match his conservative on offense with the bend but dont break tampa 2 of Dicky J.
  16. Calling Chad Henne mediocre is an insult to mediocre quarterbacks
  17. Good for Hardy maybe he can make something out of his career. We ended up with our over 6 foot wr who can make plays in Stevie Johnson. Hell even David Nelson at 6'5 has the look of a guy who will be a good player in the future. Donald Jones as well. If Marcus Easley turns out to be anything we're pretty much set at wr. It's just a shame we wasted a high round pick on Hardy typical
  18. Cromartie is right. Brady is an ass. Nothing he said there was wrong in any way. This is the same guy who refuses to shake hands with opposing qb's on the rare occasions the pats lose games. The same guy who whines every play. He's a great future hof qb, but he's a giant douche. With that Said it hurts too much to even watch this game, but the Pats will probably win. I still don't like their chances if they get caught in a situation where they have to run/stop the run to win in the postseason. We'll see how it turns out soon enough.
  19. Not defending the Spiller pick, but who would you have taken at 9? The only logical thing seems to be the Bills identified a major need for an offensive playmaker/home run threat. What player fits that bill?
  20. Poz is a solid albeit highly unspectacular linebacker. My biggest issue with him isn't his play vs the run, or even his lack of speed. The issue I have with Poz is the guy couldn't cover an leg amputee patient, let alone te's, or rb's in coverage. The thought of building a defense "around Poz" is a bit depressing. The guy is ok, but it's not like he's Brian Urlacher in his prime out there. With that said don't cut off your nose to spite your face. They did that when they let Fletcher walk a few years ago. It's probably the biggest reason the Bills are in the position they face currently. Consistently letting servicable/good players walk, and creating holes where none need to be created. All at the expense of using valuable draft picks to replace said players. Instead of improving other areas of the team. Hopefully that philosphy changes in the coming years.
  21. Possibly but keep in mind Greenbay did almost beat the Pats with Matt Flynn playing in place of Rodgers. To be honest that game reminded me almost exactly of the 07 season when the pats/giants met in the regular season. Pats won a high scoring game, and well we know the rest. The Packers defense is more capable than just about any defensive unit of limiting NE. That's why they play the games though
