McKelvin gets a ticket for disrupting a flight
Stealth replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ehh. We don't know the situation. Holiday traveling can bring a lot of stress. Could've been an important phone call from family or something. Not enough to really go on in the story. He paid the fine, isn't contesting it. It is what it is -
well last year- Once Donald Jones started showing promise he got injured. Then Fred Jackson got injured. Then most of the offensive line got injured. Then fitz was playing with bad ribs and e where down to backup centers and tackles. I mean remember levitre playing center in miami last year? that was a nightmare of epic proportions. Fred Jackson who before he got injured was the NFL's leading rusher and accounted for 40% of our offense. Spiller was not exactly the CJ we all love today. This year..... We still don't have a reliable #2 outside receiver. Our most sure handed wr and reliable slot option David Nelson got injured which imho really hampers this offense. Fitz is by no means a franchise qb, but he also has not been working with anything close to a full deck. Fwiw over the last 4 games Fitz is completing 69% of his passes for 242 yards per game. at 7 yards a pass with 5 tds and 2ints. Now granted those 2 ints came at horrible times, but his overall play has been pretty decent as of late. Once again yes we need to draft a qb. However it is my opinion that whoever we draft should not be forced into a starting role, but rather sit behind Fitz for awhile as we build the team. This team is simply not strong enough to carry a rookie qb, and getting rid of a decent veteran qb could be a detriment to a young player.

or maybe Matt Stafford just isn't that good. Outside of last year he's pretty much at his career average consistently injured suffering from chuck and duck syndrome Matt Stafford has always had a great arm there's no questioning that I just always felt he always relied on it to much, and lacked consistency in his game as well as injuries which have hampered him everytime he seems to make progress. Having an elite wr is great, but I think some qb's start to rely too much on that and force issues and it leads to mistakes and just honestly don't know how to see the whole field and get other players involved

Spiller is effing rediculous

I dont think anyone ever doubted that. I dont recall anyone saying to bench Freddy. The issue is Spiller should be getting more than 9 carries a game when fred is healthy -

Yup his ypc went down, but jesus he controlled the game. FEED SPILLER and we'll win more often than not -
Lets trade the jets for tim tebow he's a winner. Oh I got it trade the Dolphins for Matt Moore. He's got good potential.. Or better yet David Garrard he won with underwhelming talent in Jax. Imagine what he could do with Spiller.Jackson,Johnson,Chandler and Nelson omg the possibilities. Or trade with NE, they may be willing to pull another Bledsoe trade with Brady, or if they think Brady's got a few more years left we can trade for Ryan Mallett. Who knows about his potential. I know he has a great arm and that's all it takes in BUFFALO!!! You guys already covered the browns, but damn the steelers imagine Byron leftwich here. Wow just talk about a cannon arm thats what we all want here right? Oh man the thought just invigorates me. CMON BUDDY!!! What about trading with the Texans for TJ Yates. I mean christ he almost bought them to the superbowl last year,,,WOW!!! Speaking of superbowls David Carr has a superbowl ring. Give him a shot former top pick, has got to sit behind Eli- te Manning. Just coming in with the ring will give the players in the locker room something to look forward to. Automatic playoffs.. Also Whats Jake Delhomme doing this days. Or if we can pry Matt Hasselbeck from tenn? Seriously let's just draft a qb, keep fitzpatrick and let the rookie play his way into the starting job, while building the rest of the team

Mularkey was the last winning coach we had 9-7 in 2004. I still say had we beaten Pitt week 17 made the playoffs Mularkey would've been here for awhile. Bledsoe would've stayed and Losman could've sat for a bit instead of blowing up a team that was on the cusp

Miami has hotter women then Buffalo? YA DON'T SAY? -
point totals in games FJ hasnt played and Spiller has- 2011 weeks 12-17 week 12-24 week13- 17 week14-10 week 15-23 week 16-40 week 17- 21 total 2011- 6 games 22.5 ppg 2012 (I'm including week 1 since Jackson got hurt and was a non factor in points scored and had only 6 carries) week 1- 28 week 2-35 week 3- 14 (before CJ got hurt) total- 25ppg seems we don't really have any drop off in scoring points when Spiller plays and Jackson doesn't.. Hell if you really wanna talk about effectiveness. Is Tashard Choice a drop off from Jackson? In the Browns game Choice had 20 carries for 91 yards at 4.6ypc. Which is a better individual game performance than Jackson has had since week 10 in a blowout loss to Dallas. Taking this a step further. CJ's total stat line from the weeks Jackson didn't play 2011-2012 combined Carries- 119 yards rushing - 754 ypc- 6.3 td- 6 tds 2 fumbles (once every 60 carries) 28 receptions 301 rec yards 3 rec tds 11ypc Total yards from scrimmage in games Jackson left eary/didn't play- 1055 and 9 tds and total combined of 24ppg. What exactly are we losing with Spiller starting and Jackson not playing? well seems to be nothing more than a yard per carry for Spiller which Still puts him above Fred Jackson's production. Taking nothing away from Freddy he was great before he got injured last year. It's just time to make Spiller the main cog in the wheel

It gets us one of the top rushing offenses in the league and a team who scores enough points per game to win the majority of games we play in. Ya know if we didn't allow the most points per game in the NFL

2012-13 Kansas City 7 68.9 142 235 60.4 1549 221.3 6.6 6 11 2012-13 Buffalo 9 87.5 185 296 62.5 2011 223.4 6.8 17 10 Matt Cassel is nothing like ryan Fitzpatrick. Matt Cassel is much worse as for "matt cassel blows drives like Fitzpatrick" Im pretty sure the Bills are one of the better redzone teams in the NFL. Also a bit above league average on 3rd downs. The Bills problem isn't scoring points like the Chiefs. The Bills problem is turnovers. However yes I would like to see the Bills worst ranked d play much much better than they have at any point this season. -
YES, I wouldn't mind Rob Ryan either

Still have to go Defense heavy in 13' Draft
Stealth replied to Bufcomments's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Donald Jones had repeatedly shown he can play. The problem is that everytime Donald Jones shows he can play he seems to get injured in the process. If Donald Jones can stay healthy and start producing before week 5-6 of a season and David Nelson comes back healthy than our wr core isn't bad. I think we could stand to use more of a pure receiving option at te opposite Chandler. Nothing against Chandler but in todays NFL I think you need 2 te's one of whom should be the seem splitter. Yes we should go defensive heavy in the draft. Yes we should draft a qb early. No he shouldn't start right away. -
I'm not gonna guarantee a average. I will say yes he'll be more productive as a starter then splitting carries with Freddy. There's a reason since the time Fred got hurt last year to now only Calvin Johnson and Ray Rice have more yards from scrimmage than Spiller. It's not because Spiller is some mirage or only effective a certain way. As far as what sets they're running out of I'd have to do a bit more research on that, but I think it's kinda frivolous to say he won't be effective. In yards after contact this year Spiller is averaging almost 4 yards per carry. Yes short yardage situations will incline that a rb will get less yards. Also it would be wise to point out that Choice may be used in those short yardage situations, and honestly I'm not seeing much of a downgrade this year from Jackson to Choice. Almost all the numbers point to CJ Spiller being an elite running back. Why anyone would want someone as dangerous as him less used is beyond me. Going back to how he's used. Of course when you have a running back like Spiller you don't fit square peg round holes. Just like you're more inclined to run a rb like Freddy or Choice up the middle. You want to run spiller off tackle on sweeps. Get him out in space. Hit him on screens. The Bills offense in general has been run out of the shotgun. We're not suddenly going to become a power I team. Nor should they. I have little doubt that Spiller will continue to produce at an elite pace, just like he did since fred went down in the jets game and every time he's gotten the majority of touches

Odds are Thursday will reveal what everyone is now saying. The more carries Spiller gets the better he is

Good luck banging that drum. Although I agree with you. If you point out things like the Bills are only one of two teams to give up 30pts per game, or 400 yards per game or 150 rushing yards per game. Can't get off the field on third downs can't force turnovers. You'll be met with the one track mind of "Fitz sucks grrr" -
Running Back Controversy? Not in My Eyes
Stealth replied to It's in My Blood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well that escalated quickly lol. No one is saying Fred Jackson should be cut, just that he shouldn't be starting. That's plain as day to anyone with eyes Spiller is the better player -
Fred Jackson might have concussion...
Stealth replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wasn't being classless. Again I don't wish injury upon anyone. From the stance of me saying "ideal" Gailey's shown the only time he gives Spiller the carries he deserves to get is when Fred Jackson doesn't play. I'm not the one to start any flame wars here. I just want to see this team get the ball in the hands of the best player on the team. That it takes Freddy not playing for Gailey to do that is sad. Spiller should be getting at least 80% of the carries at this point. I see how my comment can be taken as wishing injury or being "classless" but that's really not me. Read it how you want I'm not gonna argue. Just here to talk football -

I wont wish injury on anyone, but it kinda is ideal. Spiller will be the main back and get the touches he deserves -
Fitz has more balls than anyone on the defense
Stealth replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Only 2 teams allow over 30pts a game. 30 other qb's don't have to overcome that. "it's that simple" -
Fitz has more balls than anyone on the defense
Stealth replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills are 22nd in time of posession 16th in 3rd down percentage. Maybe if the defense got off the field on 3rd downs didn't have the 31st ranked run defense and caused some turnovers they could get themselves off the field? -

Newtons struggling this year, RG3 is a wait and see. Luck was the top overall pick. I've yet to see what's so impressive about tannehill. Odds are some of these players will struggle moving forward. I still believe the best route is to have a mentor to a younger qb. Brady had bledsoe. Rodgers had Favre. Eli had Kurt Warner. The Bills have rolled the dice throwing Losman and Edwards to the wolves. Who knows how losman would've turned out had Bledsoe stuck around another year and Losman was able to see the game instead of forced to be the guy, I'd rather not see the Bills make that mistake again -

Fred Jackson had a fumble that was ripped away from a patriots player by Eric Wood. There's plenty of plays that could be blamed or "overlooked" -

I think we all realize we need a qb, but as I said in another thtread. Simply drafting a qb does not equal= franchise qb. Too many teams make this mistake. The best route to go is to keep Fitz and let the rooke learn on the bench and mature into a starting role. Otherwise we're more than likely to get stuck with another JP Losman or Blaine Gabbert type
