I don't think you draft a DE in the top 10 for a 3-4 unless its Bruce Smith.. The Ends are a lot easier to find... The NT and OLDs are the ones you need early in the draft.... I still think we go Clausen or Bradford... Maybe trade down for Dan Williams... only one month left boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

trade edwards to cowboys for kitna
Pygskin36 replied to icymonsters's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not really interested in Kitna.... I am amng the very few that think we should not give up Captain checkdown... I still want to draft a franchise guy, but would not hate it if we get another year of Trent to see what he does with a true offensive mind for a coach.. Gailey is an outside the box guy and Edwards is a talented guy... I still think there's tons of potential there... I also think Kelsay can help you on defense.... You'll never get his value in a trade.... -
Aaron Maybin hanging with McGahee in Miami
Pygskin36 replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My thoughts exactly -
I believe if their guy is not there, they'll move down... I truely believe they want Bradford or Okung... Maybe even Trent Williams... But, I have a hunch they will be active that day and even the days prior to the draft.. I am a Claussen guy, so I hope they go there, but I am very cool if they move out of 9 and go after Dan Williams or McClain, even Demaryius Thomas and pick up more picks in rds 2, 3, or 4....
-
ok.... Why not Williams??? Bc top 10 picks should be game changers... He's a great prospect, but I don't see him as a game changer.... You can get him at 15-18 ... Not 9....
-
I always thought he would have been a fantastic 3-4 end.Jaurons version of the Tampa two, he needed to be lighter... If he can bulk up a little, I believe he wound be excellent in a rotation w Stroud, Edwards, Johnson, and even McCargo at end... I think well see both 3-4 and 4-3 fronts all year, so he is worth keping on the roster..

What about a trade with Houston at 20
Pygskin36 replied to billsfansince1964's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It all depends on who's available at 9... It willbe a hot pick I'm sure by other teams -

DEBUNKED: Joey Porter to visit Bills next week
Pygskin36 replied to Maddog69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this would be the best off season acquisition yet (If Ed Kilgore's report is accurate)... He's an instant starter at one of the weakest positions on the defense.. A great 2, possibly 3 year player until we develop drafted talent!! Takes pressure off of Maybin and allows him to learn OLB... (we forget how young he is on this board.. he's still growing for God's sake) It also allows them to focus more on other areas such as NT and..well.. a Quarterback this and next year... This will be a three-year process at least before we really see results, by then, Porter retires. I believe its called a stop-gap right?? -
What he said... A lot of things happen between the middle of March and training camp.

With Davis signing and possibly Edwards
Pygskin36 replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think some people are too short sighted... Davis is a one yr stop gap at best, schoebel has never played olb and is nearing the end of his career... Drafting is not for 2010.. It's for the next 6,8,10 yrs.. I would not be shocked one bit if they drafted McClain or an oslb.... With the exception of corner or safety, they should go with the beat available football player at 9 or trade out for more picks... I don't care if they trade roster players to acquire more pick andove up ... Get good football players..... But don't draft based on 2010. -
I thought the Bills drafted Poz to play outside actually... It would be interesting to see if he could play out there... He was not, IMO, very effective as a 4-3 Mike.. Maybe a 3-4 OLB opposite Maybin is a good fit for him... I just don't know if he's very fluid or how he'll translate to rushing the passer/covering TE's and RB's... We'll all know soon enough.
-
new management.. They're cleaning house... Davis isn't exactly a franchise LB either.. He'd be a solid acquisition for the Bills though... It will be interesting to see if Poz moves outside.. I just don't see any of our current OLBs in a 3-4.. Maybin and Schoebel seem like the only fits on the whole roster..I'm concerned about the lack of athleticism.. None of them are fluid except for Harris and he's too small.. I have a feeling they begin with a 3-4 plan and end up actually in a 4-3 next year... move to 3-4 in 2011 (if there's a season)

pretty much... Only you still need a guy that can handle speed rushers on both side bc a lot of the leagues best pass rushers are on the left side of the offense(right d end)
-
Ok... So we swap first rd picks and send them Whitner for McNabb and a 5th.... Ok... Call Buddy
-
Going from 24 to 9 is worth a late first rd pick.. Its like 600 points on the famous draft value chart. I'd swap seconds and give them a roster player (assuming they'd be interested in Schoebel or Whitner, which they most likely would not be) draft value chart link http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft06/news/story?id=2410670

What's happening with Stroud?
Pygskin36 replied to BB Fan 4 LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he's ideal for that spot... We need to find a NT. I am thinking more and more they are planning on using a high pick for a NT. -
Report: Seahawks want McNabb or Kolb, no one wants Vick
Pygskin36 replied to bobcat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It would be amazing if the Bills could put together a package that interests Philly which included perhaps a third rd pick, and roster player(s).... Unloading Whitner, schoebel or Lynch... I know McCoy is their man, but you never know. I bet they'd be interested in a veterin pass rusher or a talented young safety... Even if he is not performing up to expectations of a number 8 pick. -
Purely a backup/ depth guy
-
Plenty of time... Things are just beginning. I believe they will make trades to acquire picks for the draft.. Possibly move roster players.. or even move out of number 9 if Bradford or all of the high end tackles are gone...
-
Schoebel will never be a 3-4 end... Olb if anything.. I like Kelsay as the end if he bulks up a little... I love Kyle Williams as a rotational nt, but we need to add a star in that spot... Williams won't be that guy on a playoff defense.... He is physical, but that spot needs a two gapper.. A rock, not a penetrator... Nix has a lot of work to do.. Give him a chance..
-
This crossed my mind too, but he is a one gap penetrating type of DT... Plus it appears he has no work ethic...I just don't see him on the Bills roster this fall
