Please tell me why Kyle Orton is not the long term answer ?
PaattMaann replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well let's say Orton does well and leads us to the playoffs this year - he has to start next season, but we won't be developing anyone behind him (unless it's EJ still) - there aren't any "projects" in this nfl draft class - there's a couple first rounders and then a bunch of trash -
jesus, great point....I am terrified of heights (like, my balls hurt when I look UP at tall buildings from the street) and that escalator does things to me man, baaaddd things

no bad seats at all, ive sat in the very last row of the 300s, and I usually sit in section 107, both are equally great experiences.....buy em cheap and you will have a great time none the less...sounds like a damn fun weekend ya got going for ya...

This Sunday, against the New England Patriots....
PaattMaann replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well said and I couldn't agree more - a win is hugeeeeee and a loss, while it hurts, does not mean our end goal is out of reach - playoffs and even winning the division is still very attainable But boy sitting 4-2 alone atop the division, with a "soft" part of our schedule coming up - that would feel and look real solid -

I will pay you to NOT go to the game on Sunday -
yea Browner came from Seattle....he was solid for them, but he got suspended by the league for substance abuse and let go by seattle (if I remember correctly) - he could most definitely have an impact as one would assume he knows the defensive playbook now - unfortunate timing for us, but maybe we benefit because he will be rusty and not up to game speed as always, this game will be won and lost on both sides of the trenches....we look to have the upper hand on both sides of the line however, with Chandler Jones still being eased back in from injury, and their DTs being NOTHING CLOSE to what we have experienced the past few weeks....maybe our OG's actually look like they are decent to bad players (rather than god awful) this week....and if I were the Patriots, I would obviously be very worried about containing our D-line, I would expect a heavy dose of two TE formations and max protects by the Patriots this weekend

Eric Wood fires back at Jerry Sullivan
PaattMaann replied to 5 Wide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
its already been mentioned in the thread...Wood is highly thought of around the league by both front offices and by players that go against him...the guy is a solid NFL center and gets the respect he warrants from them.... now hack writers and nerds on message boards, THEY criticize because they are ignorant -
Ron Brooks tweeted that hes up and walking on his own...great news

Good call - thanks for clarifying And I agree about the BN bit - I'll have to go read some of MF's coverage and see what he's all about -

Is this the guy who was chosen to start covering the bills recently? Back in the beginning of summer some guy from that paper came around and asked people to submit resumes and samples of writing and such...just wondering if he was the guy that was chosen..... -
I wonder when the Binghamton area stopped broadcasting bills games - I grew up in that area and I always was able to watch bills games
-
oh I completely understand why they would have originally scheduled that game on TV my point was about having the ability to put the best CURRENT matchups on tv (the Flex scheduling is a good step in that direction)...who the hell wants to watch the Jets get whooped up on by the Chargers?
-
Jets as potential wild card team???? lol

I dont get the jims steakout love 10 years ago the subs were delicious now they are tiny and very underwhelming, id take a wegmans sub over Jims 10 times out of 10... As far as subs go though....the best sub I ever had was from a place in Delaware by UD campus...called Cleveland Ave Subs ( MAYBE? cleveland def. in the title)...biggest, most delicious turkey sub the world has ever known, makes a wegmans large look like a small...unfortunately the place has since closed so no one else will ever get the experience
-
Jets vs San Diego - thank god we get to watch that **** show eh? they need to do a better job of having better 1 oclock/ 4 oclock games...I dont care what coast the games are on, lets see better games!

THIS but really....theres just no need for Brown...RIGHT NOW... he is insurance, we have capable backs ahead of him, and one with almost the exact skill set (just most explosive) in Spiller...chances are we do not resign spiller, and that is where Brown will come in to play...his muscles arent atrophying on the bench lol, hes learning the playbook, practicing and soaking it all in Look at the positives, less wear and tear for next year
-
rumor is Kyle Orton took the team to Big Tree for dranks instead of practice today

Did anyone watch Detroit v Carolina
PaattMaann replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They blocked them But for real, football is any given Sunday....some players have bad games, some good ones...some game plans work, some don't....it's such a mix and match of things happening during the game that can influence the outcome The bottom line is - we have to execute in order to win, every guy on the field has to execute Last Sunday, most of our guys were executing....for most of the game (yes watt was an animal and yes we had a few WR drops early), but our QB was not executing on his throws, thus, we lost....this Sunday if we have a repeat performance but our QB makes those accurate throws, we will be in the game -
Someone should teach those poor kids how to fish For real though, I'd spare some prayers for them if they played football for the bills
-
some didnt get 30 starts because regime change = new QB I agree sometimes we know way sooner than 30 games if a guy is definitely going to be THE GUY but I Think you definitely need more time to know if a guy ISNT the guy...as for EJ...im officially in EJ purgatory where im not ready to give up on him because its puts us back to where we were two years ago, still searching for the answer, but he has looked real poopy the past two weeks, especially against Houston (i dont know if ive ever seen a worse QB performance from an accuracy standpoint
-
well then you and every GM who has ever lived disagree about measuring QB progress - as the industry standard is 30 starts before you know what you truly have in your QB...
-
yes, every GM is always perfect on every decision they have made as for guard, please see previous posts in the thread...who was available in the guard free agency market that would have helped us? Im honestly asking this because I cannot recall...he attempted to help the position with Chris Williams (who has been injured/not played well) and drafted Richardson (too early to tell if he is a fix) - but I agree this is a huge issue, but every team has issues TE Depth, also agree on - theres nothing behind Chandler bc Gragg has not seemed to figure it out As for his "missing on the most important position in the game" - im not QUITE ready to classify EJ as a miss - its certainly trending that way, he looks like he cannot complete even the most routine passes - but thats the nature of the NFL - you HAVE TO draft and develop your franchise QB, which takes time and most often results in failure, but you have to try or you will never have one What Whaley has done is drastically improve the talent, top to bottom on the roster - trading Hughes for a schmuck, adding great D-line depth that have all contributed, revamped the LB corp and developed whats there, adding Corey Graham, replacing Byrd (quite adequately BTW), remade the WRs from a bunch of "walk ons" to a group that I think oozes talent and potential, solidified the T spots for years to come, added depth to RBs and brought in players who shine on special teams...its truly a fantastic job, but haters gonna hate see above as for his "whiff" on the QB spot - isnt 100 percent whiff, but looks like it, and you HAVE to try As far as "doubling down" - I have nothing to say if you disagree about Watkins, kids a dynamic playmaker who will help the team (regardless of who is at QB) for years to come, a game changer... EJs "growing pains" as I called them, I admitted after seeing sundays stinker - maybe I was wrong about his previous bad throws/games being growing pains, and maybe he just flat out cannot accurately throw a football with any consistency....but were gonna most likely get the rest of the season to find out...
-
He was the best option on the team at the time...and we did/are bringing him along slowly....and up until this week I would have said what we have been seeing is growing pains - but yesterday was outright terrible passing As to your point about a dynamic TE over WR - that would be a nice thing to have, but that has no merit here because there was not a TE to fit that description in the draft, nor are there ever TEs like that in the draft - getting playmakers for your QB is always a good idea, and Sammy is a playmaker People need to understand franchise QBs don't grow on trees and when you THINK have one, you give them a long leash and hope they develop....but again, my point was that Whaley has done nothing but improve this team since he got here and I'm in full support of him, regardless on if EJ fails or not

Absolutely Russ Brandon can keep his job too - he does well in his business role
