Dareus is under our control for two more seasons (contract next year, ability to tag him for the 16/17 season) - yes I want to re-sign him to ensure he is a bill for a long time, but we have the ability to ensure that for at least two more seasons Hughes is a luxury, and if signing that luxury to a 8-10 million a year deal for the next five jeopardizes our ability to upgrade the o-line, add impact players at WR or TR or RB, continue to build franchise wide depth with QUALITY players and re-sign our young stars (Glenn, Gilmore, Watkins, possibly Orton, kiko, etc.) then I'd rather let him walk - situational pass rushers can be had for cheaper and we already have some good DEs on the roster that can contribute immediately Yes we are currently in good cap shape, but I do not want to rush to ruin our good cap position by handing out huge deals to players who may not be worth that kind of money Hughes on a 3 year, 21- 25 mill contract? Maybe I'd be down for that....anything more than 3 years ties up a lot of potentially needed money in the future

What To Take From the Jets Game ?
PaattMaann replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the very premise of the opening of this thread makes it pointless the REASON we should have beaten the Jets handily (and we did by the way) was because they give too many turnovers and have horrible QB play....soooooo, saying "if they didnt throw INTs and have terrible QB play, the game would have been close" is like saying "if we were playing a completely different team"....we beat the Jets because they were what we thought they were....any NFL win is a good win -
Players have to want to resign extensions before their current deals are up though - it's a two way street I agree with OP about bringing in replacements for lost talent - not always easy to do You only have so much money to work with - the current broncos roster is beautifully put together BECAUSE they have hit on their younger drafted players (Thomas's, some linemen and pass rush) - not to mention they have the best QB to ever play the game under center, that can't be overlooked The basic premise of the OP post is sound, it's just in the execution

Yes, parents are douche bags....but then I just think of my 60,000 a year pension when I retire at 55 years old and everything calms down for me -
Yes the blickmann is something I could certainly work up to - but def not laying down the money on that when I haven't even brewed yet haha Great point about keeping notes - seems like a must

hmmm thats not a bad idea (the build it yourself pooj) - ill have to consider that...am I lazy and wanna drop some bucks? (Then the only real expense to start would be the turkey fryer for boil) as to the extracts/full grain....I think I will definitely start with extracts, even if im going to do 5 gal. boils....because like you said, they are pretty damn good and its "easier" to start with... Question: if im doing 5 gallon boils wont I need more than a 5 gallon carboy? (room at the top)

Thanks for the input so far - I am in the process of reading the free "How to Brew" (2nd half is printing off at work right now haha), some great get started info there... im really torn between "going all out" and buying big enough equipment/stuff to hand full grain brews or "starting small" to see if I like it....im feeling like im going to like it, so why waste time on the stuff just big enough to "try it out".....its the real dilemma I have to solve first.... im looking at buying a turkey fryer (at least 32 QT) to boil in....and pairing that with a starter kit from Extreme Brewing (http://www.amazon.com/Brewers-Best-DELUXE-Brewing-Equipment/dp/B00AC55H24/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1386477856&sr=8-2&keywords=brewers+best) so go big or go home?

I want to get into home brewing, I have some ideas about what to do (how the process works), but am looking for suggestions on start up equipment, and places you all go to buy your supplies (barley, hops, etc.) Any information would be appreciated....again, ive got ideas based on a few friends and google, but am looking for any advice any of you home brewers have. Thanks in advance!

I've never said I work hard - other teachers cry about their jobs and how hard they work for "little pay" Me, I say I get overpaid for working half of a calendar year And good link gug - they haven't caught me yet!!!! Mwuahahahahaa -
The league of parity - for the most part Excellent thread OP - please post more often (we could use the influx of fresh thinkers and posters as opposed to the "why EJ sucks", "fire Hackett" and "our o-line is the worst in history" threads) One thought though: since it is the league of parity and there is a razor thin difference between a team going 9-7/10-6 and being the playoffs and finishing 6-10 and watching the playoffs at home or from the 19th hole - why has an organization like the bills went this long without ever finding that "luck" and sneaking into the playoffs? Do we suck so bad that even luck can't help us? : )

Draft Shawn Oakman from Baylor, DE - hoping like hell there is a way he falls into the mid 2nd round haha...but highly doubtful....(maybe because teams see him as "too raw"?) 6-9, 280 pounds of pure disruption.... Maybe he can even play guard? I kid, I kid...
-
exactly - thats why they brought this guy in - give boobie the day(s) off on special teams and be the insurance RB in case something happens to the Brown Boobie
-
I'm tired of an offensive coordinator who dials up fumbles in the red zone!!! Is it sooooo hard to call plays where your guys secure the football???? I see other coaches call plays where their guys don't fumble, why can't ours?
-
Well obviously, better ones? Lol

it is a known fact why he has not been suiting up - we need (according to marrone) the roster spot for our special teams...Brown does not play special teams...we have three quality RBs (your feelings for Spiller aside, this staff believed in him)...Brown was insurance for this exact event/one of the future starting RBs of this team him not being active has had NOTHING to do with his skills as a football player....this is all documented/stated by the players/staff/FO

what a turd -
I was wondering the same thing....i think we are just "left to wonder", period....not assuming hes good or bad at it because we just dont know its not like he was bad at pass pro so we have him inactive every week...the reason hes been inactive is because we were treating him this season as insurance and as a future starting back....from all reports, the dude can flat out play and "do it all" im looking forward to seeing the Brown Boobie
-
They were stunting him quite a bit to the inside, Dareus or other DT would rush to the outside of his man, and Mario would rush up field and then cut under the DT towards the a gaps and rush from there - it was largely ineffective and Mario had his sack when he bull rushed and then cut under his own guy and got his big ass mitt on teddy
-
Oh for sure! I'm not holding out hope for a luck / generational guy - that's luck of the draw (bottoming out at the same time that guy comes out) - I agree you need to keep taking chances on finding "the guy" - I just don't personally see them in THIS group ( and were talking 3rd rounders-6th rounders) this year....just my two cents
-
I'm not saying it based on what others have said (for the record I've never heard it's a "weak project QB class" I've heard it's a "weak QB class" but never the prior, weird) I'm basing it on what I've been watching for a couple years on this QB class after the first rounders (if those guys even come out - cook/Prescott)
-
As of now, there is a chance Connor cook returns to Sparty next season - but we will have no shot at him if he does enter this years draft And the rest of those QBs (besides mayyyybeeeee Prescott) do absolutely nothing for me - they all have major major flaws that will seriously prevent them from succeeding as an nfl QB I am intrigued by Golson but that probably has more to do with me being a Norte dame fan - the kid does rise up to the occasion, I just don't know about his game in the nfl (can his arm make the important throws? Can he make the correct decisions in an nfl offense different from Kelly's at nD?)
-
I'm not supporting Bo Wallace by any means, but your statement that "there will be far better QBs available" isn't a guarantee - this is a weeeeaaakkk "project QB" class
