Which means we must feel confident in his ability to become a good TE, and we must feel good about our current roster makeup of the other 52 guys (ability and health) - just to play devils advocate to your negative Nancy And maybe we also think we can use him this season in spots, like yolo said above, in the red zone if for nothing else than to force D to account for his size

Well it makes sense that his expertise is in finding guys already in the pros because he spent 10 years in Pittsburgh as their pro personnel guy in their front office, so that's kind of all he has ever done in the FO (with that said I'm more than happy with his drafts so far, unless he's never supposed to miss on a player- which all GMs do)

I don't agree with moving Glenn to RT but the "you don't pay LT money for someone to play RT" argument doesn't hold any water .... the suggestion is for the rest of this season only, and the money paid to Glenn is already a sunk cost so would have zero bearing on the position he plays The argument WOULD have bearing going into next year if we planned on playing Glenn at RT all year and investing more money on the LT spot...but that's not the case here. During a season if you have, say 20 million dollars invested across your front five, the actual spot they play is immaterial Just tired of hearing that argument, Glenn should and will stay at LT

yea why not!? we are in the hunt, until were not of course we got smashed by NE, they are the best in the league...that doesnt mean there isnt still hope...so what if we are holding open tryouts for street people to play WR? One game at a time and you claw your way back in....unless your the best in the league and have a HOF at QB you are in a dog fight every week, with a shot at a W...add up enough W's and you just might sneak into the playoffs where anything can happen (as long as you dont play NE)

You should read heavily into what Lynn said yesterday....IF Shady's injury is that serious, its smart to sit him so its not a year long issue like last year....BUT, he didn't say this injury was as bad as last years and that if Shady plays on it he is def. going to hurt it further. So while you are smart to read heavily into it, its not smart to automatically assume that IS indeed the case Big difference between a strained hamstring and an "ouch, did I just tweak something in my leg? I better sit out until Sunday and see how it feels because who really gives a **** about PRACTICE" (and then the media caught wind and everything went cray cray)

I agree with you in principle, but much has been made recently of how well O'Leary is blocking in the run game, so we can probably afford to spread Clay out wide since O'Leary has made huge strides in his blocking

I see what your saying. I think the first game, regardless, for him will be "wow im back"...Id rather have him go through that against one of the worst teams in the NFL than against the best. If hes healthy and can contribute, get him in for 10-15 plays this week to knock the rust off/get rid of the wow factor

by this logic, then wouldnt he also be a liability against the Pats (or whatever his first game is)? Or will two weeks of practice (5 padded practices) really make him game ready? If he is healthy, you activate him and rotate him in to get him acclimated

I tend to believe Sal too...but with any injury, especially something like this mystery hammy injury, give it 24 hours-ish and you get a clearer picture...im anti too soon reporting because it just gets things confused I appreciate your sharing of Sal's report though

no we can HOPE its not even a grade 1 and they were just being careful because it was Wednesday, sit him the rest of the practices this week, and he suits up and plays on Sunday I will believe when I hear it from a team source How does someone even get a mild hammy strain and no one else notices? My brain cannot compute that, ive pulled a hammy before in a very mild manner and everyone around me and in my life knew it haha

He says this based on Rex saying "mild to moderate" - Rex had no information at the time other than "Shady hurt his hammy" but didnt seem too serious, so really this reporter (who specializes in injured players and their return time) is basing his info off of Rex shooting off the cuff post practice....Gene Bramel is EXCELLENT at what he does, but in this case he has no information to base his report of two weeks on.. Now if it was a doctor, or Rex saying "the docs said its a Grade 1 or Grade 2 sprain" then Bramel's opinion would be valid too soon to tell

That was regarding Woods...were talking about Shady, where did Boyst hear the shady was a no go for sunday...Im not doubting his word, just find it crazy that they would already be saying he is a no go for Sunday considering no teammates saw him get injured Im still hopeful he just felt something and they said "Its wednesday, sit the rest of the day out, in fact, the rest of the week and be ready for Sunday"
