  1. big reason Beane held onto those draft picks next year
  2. McD - excited by competition and depth at several roster spots. LB corp, Deon Lacy has really improved from a year ago. RB corp has also been a good group and calls out all guys by name for doing a great job early.
  3. Its reported that last year fans were upset when they showed up to practice but couldnt really see anything because the team was on the back fields to give the main grass fields time to recover, so to avoid the fans being dissapointed this year they decided to close those practices to the public. McD does the same field rotation at OBD facilities too, so it seems legit.
  4. Same, but I was HOPING he would hit the market so other WR options had a littleeeee less competition from teams as they focused their attention on signing him. WR market looks thinnnnnnnn
  5. OR you could choose to look at it as being happy and glad there is no real competition at the guard spots because Vlad and Miller are locking those spots the F down. I say the above statement truly and honestly. Going into camp I felt like you stated above, but seriously Vlad and Miller have looked like studs - woah woah woah, I get it, its four days into PRACTICE, but its a good sign that neither have struggled at all yet (in fact, Miller hadn't lost a single 1 v 1 until sunday, and hes still only lost 1, thats impressive!). Choose to see the positive and hope those two continue to have no problems at the guard spots, its best for our entire offense and team.
  6. I know this staff won't do that. If he starts, whenever that is, it will be because he is ready mentally and physically and proves to be the best option at QB for the Bills. There is no magical week or point in time for that to happen. Trust the process.
  7. I argue that they ARE sticking to that developmental strategy. Throw it all at him and see how he handles it and go from there. I know they wont rush him, they will play him when he is ready. why does that HAVE to be week 9? You know that when they drafted him their plan was to "wait until week 9"?
  8. It's looking at more than production with the third team offense. How does he handle the huddle? How does he react to looks from the defense given the play? Is he making the correct reads? How does he handle pressure? How is ball placement? The staff wants to see him implementing the things they are working on in practice/is he in over his head type things. If his stat line doesn't look great after the game, it won't necessarily doom him...its how he handled the game and the situations. It isnt the end all be all for him, just the next big hurdle in the Bills staff evaluation of him/the QB room. Allen - show he belongs in the convo - check next up - show he can handle in game situations under "live fire"
  9. yea I didnt include Lorax just because of his OLB position rather than DE, but yes he can used in place of a DE
  10. there are better options than Shaq on the Bills current roster, Murphy and Yarborough being two (Hughes doesn't count as he is the starter on the other side). This is why Shaq remains on the roster bubble. I think he is kept though for rotational purposes.
  11. THIS my man, THIS. I will actually watch the first preseason game for the first time in years due to this! I want to see Allen play well in that second half, even if its with nobodies vs. nobodies. I want to see him take the lead, communicate and command. Hopefully we plays well, but its a lot of the other intangibles that are important for the coaches to see in-game as well. As you pointed out, what he has done so far is show that be belongs in the conversation. Now improve every day and lets see what happens.
  12. LOL, time will tell brotha! Thats why they play the games
  13. Call me crazy but I will take the chance on the unknown even if it means 5 INTs (peterman wont be the starter, and even if he is, those 5 INTs were a flukey thing) vs. a for sure 180 yard passing day with 15 3 and outs....I didn't hate TT originally, but it was painfully obvious during last year that he was not capable of attempting to make plays with his arm, and that's what QB needs to do. You are correct, the QB can be worse as far as TO's are concerned, but not from a "trying to be better" standpoint. I hope McCarron/Allen take chances with the ball in order to make plays, even if that means an almost guarantee uptick in TO's. Position by position I really don't see any downgrade in talent, except potentially o-line. Time will tell if Vlad/Bodine-Groy can do the same job as Richie and Wood - so far so good this early. I agree with what you said about last years offense...it wasn't good. Thats why I view this year as essentially the same from a talent stand point. When you suck, its either status quo and you still suck (whether your team ranks 25th or dead last, you still suck), or there's room for improvement. I'm betting on the combination of getting decent QB play from McCarron/Allen and Daboll's offense which will lead to a more productive offense this year.
  14. as stated above, we have much of the same personnel. We upgraded the RB room, WR is the same, TE the same, o-line looks to be a possible issue, but as I said, after four days of camp all reports on wood/incog replacements have been playing well in the middle. As far as QB goes, it couldn't get any worse from TT (handicapped the offense by never throwing the football). So the way I see it, essentially same talent on offense...hopefully with Daboll's offense it will actually utilize the talent correctly and we can see a better offense. Obviously it all falls on the QB though, if the QB sucks, the offense will suck (see TT last year)
  15. QB was a major question mark last year, agreed about o-line but from all indications Vlad and Miller are looking like world beaters early lol...WR is same as it was last year. Personally I think this years offense and last years have the same talent, with this years O having the advantage of hopefully a good OC with fresh ideas instead of same ole same ole from the last retread
  16. Media can't record during practices, fans can (thats where these videos come from)
  17. only reason to actually have kids as far as I see it
  18. to the "luck" thing. Gotta be good to be lucky sometimes. Put yourself in the right position enough and good things happen, ie. luck goes your way. Hole in one for instance, gotta be hitting the ball enough around the hole on the par 3's to get one to drop...combo luck/skill
  19. They will say, "Move over Tom Brady, theres a new GOAT in the AFC East and his name is....JOSH ALLEN!"
  20. Falls suck dude, borrrringggg. Its literally water falling over a cliff. But really, what are you getting at? How are the Falls (which attract "millions" every year) and a stadium related? Like are you suggesting tourists pay a tax and that money is used to fund a stadium? lol
  21. maybe to you trust fund baby : ) I know what you mean, I just dont like anything about the trip (cost of tickets, silly fly into chicago and rent a car/drive three hours OR pay outrageous fees to fly into GB, hotel, etc.). I am just dragging my feet
  22. want to go, dont want to be gouged like that for tickets, airfare is insane...debating flying into chicago and driving the three hours up....decisions, decisions. Wife might get free tickets through work, that might be the only way I pull the trigger
  23. just like I said...deal was already in place, just waiting for him to come back to WNY to put pen to paper. No sense wasting a trip in his short offseason with friends and family back home.
  24. I agree the league is trending in that direction of "blurred" offense..utilizing college and NFL schemes of today. No doubt. I think many OCs are still using traditional NFL offenses though. Sure hope our OC is going for the "blurr".
  25. Especially college offenses in the past 10 years. This is also why I suspect there is a lower number of college QBs in general with less than 55% completion percentage. College QBs are playing in gimmicky offenses designed for high completion percentages. Not commenting on Allen at all here, just pointing out there aren't the same number of college QBs operating "nfl style" offenses today compared to even 10 years ago.
