  1. So you admit you didn't watch the game yet you make statements about the team you don't watch? Sounds legit I love some of our "fans"
  2. Whaley is highly regarded around the league - if Pegula comes in and dumps Whaley it will be an extremely dumb move and further set this franchise back I hope Pegs isn't that stupid
  3. Your first part is all related to Whaleys assessment of EJ - which I already stipulated might be a big blunder of his (if it turns out to truly be a blunder). When trying to establish a rookie QB as a franchise guy, you don't go bring in other QBs to take the job from him - you bring him along and let him develop into the guy you HOPE he is going to be....so his handling of EJ is a moot point right now And yes I said the guard position on this team sucks a fatty - they did try by bringing in Chris Williams - what were the other options? We're there other great FA guards? I honestly don't recall what more we could have done in the circumstances....but this is the one huge area that needs addressing Other than that - you cannot seriously argue that Whaley has been anything but awesome as a GM. Koudndijo may yet turn out to be a solid pro, we won't know that yet. Hitting on a 7th round pick already is pretty awesome. Preston Brown looks like a gamer. Yes he traded up for Watkins but if you think that was stupid then I can't argue with you on that - he got a playmaker that is rare in the NFL (again, getting weapons for a guy you are HOPING is the franchise QB, and even if he's not, any QB needs playmakers and Watkins already looks special). And when he was buddy's "top assistant" - they also had solid drafts and remade a roster that was pure and total **** before they got here Bottom line is: if you think Whaley needs to go, your not really "football smart"
  4. I don't think seeing the field has been a huge issue - sure he has missed reads on where the open guys are - but more than that, he has seen the open guy and thrown the ball no where F'ing near them...that's not fixed by sitting on the bench and listening It may not even be fixable So if we bench EJ, he's not the QB in waiting/training, that's us admitting that he is NOT the franchise QB we hoped he is and bye bye EJ
  5. I really don't get the Whaley hate - sure he may have missed on EJ, because he was most certainly involved in drafting him (if he did actually miss on EJ - I'm up in the air on it, but EJ has looked terrible, but I can't bring myself to write him off yet - maybe it's homerism), but he has finally assembled an NFL roster with depth and talent at ALMOST every position, a roster that should be a playoff team - yes there are weaknesses (guard and TE) but every sports franchise has weaknesses on their roster Whaley has transformed this team from a small and weak roster to a team full of real football players - fire him??? How about extend him for a few years to make sure we don't let him get sucked away by some other smart franchise
  6. The flashes are the improvements - and we're only through three games, not even a quarter of the way through a season - any QB needs 30 starts before you can judge...do some take less time? For sure.... So to your point, where is the measured improvement? It's hard to say because it's so early...taking care of the football? You don't know that he isn't making the correct reads (marrone and Hackett claim that he is). He is apparently going through his progressions and in the San Diego game, many times WRs didn't read the coverage and sit in the zone, so EJ "took too long" because the WRs weren't doing what they were supposed to. Does he make some putrid throws due to poor mechanics? He sure does. He also has thrown some perfect passes. I am not absolving of him his terrible performance Sunday and some other bad moments in weeks 1 and 2...simply saying, he is still a work I'm progress and we won't know for some time if he's the guy or not....
  7. Coming through with a high quality post at 3 am!!! Nice work night owl Couldn't agree more with that assessment of EJ - we will see by the seasons end if EJ is developing the stuff to be a franchise guy....we won't know FOR SURE, but we will have a much clearer understanding if he's trending towards that or bust.... For this week - let's see how he responds (and more importantly the entire team) after a brutal performance
  8. I promised myself I would avoid this place this week for those very reasons mrags But here I am Thanks for the post brother - keep on keepin on
  9. Very true, great point So the question is, how does EJ react and recover from a very bad outing?? Does he learn or crumble?
  10. im terrified of how bad Freeney is going to be abused and manhandled by The Mountain
  11. I actually dont think theres that much of a difference between thinking the NFL is rigged and there being gov't conspiracies behind 9/11 and sandy hook....everyone who believes all those things are nut bags who wear tin foil hats in their houses
  12. do you think sandy hook was a government set up as well? perhaps it was the CIA who ordered those planes into the twin towers?
  13. glad I got ya riled up there section! theres no place in the world for coors light drinkers!!! and I could not agree more about that Labatt Blue Light Royale - the fact that its 6 percent is out of this world! I enjoy that beer immensely and is a great option at bars if the price is comparable to regular blue/blue light
  14. He was saying, I think, good job realizing that this is a run first team and Sammy is doing all that without being in a pass happy offense....and just imagine, if EJ connected on those two passes to Sammy their stats would both be even better, and the one 50 yarder to Sammy was a perfect pass but the DB (grimes) made a hell of a defensive play on it
  15. Why shouldn't a beer drinker be elitist with what he drinks and enjoys? Why would I go to the store and buy cheap swill that tastes like water when I could spend a few extra dollars and get something of high quality that will tickle my taste buds during the entire drinking experience? And now a joke: what do drinking a coors light and having sex in a canoe have in common? They are both f***ing way too close to water....
  16. mmmm Georgia's finest....its a solid IPA for sure cant believe someone who actually likes good beer would CHOOSE to drink molson/labatt I mean, if im at some low class party or something and thats all there is to drink, ill partake....or if someone gives it to me for free....but choosing to drink one?
  17. I have seen it twice at one consumers - but not at any of the others - rumors are it is making it's way here consistently, soon EDIT: nevermind, I double checked with my friend who told me he saw Heady Topper locally to see what consumers it was in, and he just said Alchemist is working on getting it to NY (WNY/CNY/Albany) within the next year....
  18. My wife and I are doing a road trip down the coast of Cali - fly into north, drive down the coast - and it started out as just seeing the state but now it's basically turned into a brewery tour because there are so many I can't miss when out that way Russian river has been number one on my list for a longgggg time so I can finally try the notorious Pliny the Elder - jealous you have it almost at your fingertips Other stops: Sierra Nevada, Anderson valley, firestone walker, anchor, bear republic and lagunitas Can't wait
  19. there are several depending on the time of the year Fall - Southern Tier Pumking (stout) Winter - Sierra Nevada Celebration (IPA) Spring - Firestone Walker Union Jack (IPA) Summer - Heady Topper if you can find it, best IPA out there...
  20. Double covering sammy would mean doing the opposite of what you said, "I doubt SD will shade a deep safety to the sideline" - that would be doubling Sammy....
  21. They will have to after Sammy burns their rookie and EJ puts a perfectly placed ball into his hands for a TD or two... But seriously, I hope they are dumb enough not to shade safety help over for the deep sideline passes
  22. Agree with you - except the part of the "occasional punishing hit" - it has seemed that every tackle these guys are putting on are punishing...this is old school 'make em hurt' type tackling and I LOVE it
  23. I don't know for certain and I don't think any of us do, but I don't think the play book is scaled down for EJ - I think all plays are available for Hackett to send in, I think our coaches are making a concentrated effort at putting EJ is winnable situations as far as limiting risk and getting to good down and distances.... They are establishing an identity (which they attempted to begin last year) - hard hitting, dominating defense and power run game....which by nature asks less of a starting QB It's an identity....you wouldn't do that with Drew Brees on the saints because that's not where their talent lies, but on the flip side you are seeing the Packers attempt to switch to more of a ball control, power offense because they have a work horse running back now and an oline that has not been able to keep Rodgers off his back for years now - you coach the team you've got - and EJ is playing his part to a T right now
