recall that at the beginning of the season, prior to all the injuries, etc - the line held up ok; he had enough time to scan the field and check down to a back or lock into derek fine for a 3 yard pass. his problem is he doesn't look to throw the ball down field. he got the yips in that MNF Cleveland game and has not been the same. he earned the moniker captain checkdown. the o-line also run blocked at the beginning of the year. injuries, etc led to the awful line displayed in the atlanta game.

according to "reports" from Billsman's source, Cowher was in Bufalo either last Friday or Sat and there was a lot of activity from Teterboro to Buffalo around that time. I think we should be looking at NC to Buf again since it's mid-week

why is it Schottenheimer's interest to decline? why did Shanahan decline (maybe he could coach the bills in a couple years) or why did Gruden say he wanted to stay in broadcasting another year? I agree in the sense that he is waiting on something but I'll be disappointed and the Bills should feel disrespected if he does not "officially" end any speculation relating to the Bills hc spot. Isn't in the Bills interest to clear his name from the list officially so other candidates don't feel like he is in the mix? I think his presence and the billboard, etc would cloud their HC search, no?

Shanahan did that. what's more infuriating is that his role at CBS. where is the credibility and integrity of CBS not even mentioning his name in relation to the BIlls search?? he is a public figure on a freakin nfl pregame show it's not beyond the bounds of decency to ask him point blank to comment on the bills search- why does he continue to remain mum?

I understand that those two spots have already definitively been locked up for next year. don't have the links at my fingertips, but recollect reading that Fox and the Tampa guy are definitely back next year. Tampa ownership is in trouble $$, they're not making any moves and Fox has already said he is staying put. he has no place to go either and prob wants to keep a job in this economy. I hear you... things can change there but it's very unlikely that he can go to either spot this year. there is an open UFL job, Texas Tech, USF

this is still Shefter reporting - I see nothing new here, just sources, etc. I'm waiting until I hear it from Cowher. Shefter's sources could have told him this a few days ago. I ask, if these sources were so confident in Cowher coaching in 2010, then where is he going to coach?? moreover, Moran seems like a nice guy but come on.

I concur. I suspect the Bills are making a best faith effort to get Cowher. It's a business decision and wont you expect that business would suffer with a Frazier hire??? Their business needs legitmizing. they need Cowher and Cowher needs them... At this time, his only other coaching opp appears to be Oakland. Bills know this. A man without options has no decisions. If he remains at CBS fine but it would be nice to get some closure to the matter and until such time, I will continue to suspect/expect that he will coach the Bills - b/c all the "insiders" have said he will coach in 2010 and reported that he was assembling a staff. I just "think" if he wasn't going to coach, he would have said so like he did last year. Clearly he knows about the billboard, etc, clearly CBS knew about JW's report on the meeting b/n RW and BC....the silence speaks to the on-going machinations.
