  1. man, I was really hoping that all this Cam talk was going to amount to nothing. the fact that he's seemingly atop their draft board is disheartening to say the least. I pray he's not available at #3.
  2. all those past Pats/Bills trades have worked out so well...
  3. I'm very interested in seeing how Easley looks. He was looking like a stud in camp prior to his injury. It also sounded like he was healthy mid way through the year.
  4. I get that, but this team has been whiffing on picks for a decade for the most part. If there's a time to really put some lofty expectations on a pick, it's the #3 this year. Like I said, this team needs a star(s). Would I settle for 8-year solid starter? Yes.
  5. I'm at the point where I don't care. All I ask of Nix is he gets a guy that: a) doesn't play RB b) can contribute in a meaningful way within rookie year c) becomes perennial pro bowler Aside from that I don't care what position he plays or who he is. This team is in serious need of stars and the #3 pick is the spot to get one. Don't fudge this up, Buddy.
  6. loving my journalism degree now that newspapers are all the rage.
  7. More on JaMarcus and his history with the purple drank: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gameon/post/2010/07/jamarcus-russell-codeine-arrest-purple-drank/1
  8. Stevie hasn't "made it" quite yet if bar gigs at Friday's with 12 people in attendance are what he's getting. Hit the Jugs machine, stevie!
  9. IMO: #1 Car - Fairley (esp now with Rivera at the helm) #2 Den - Peterson #3 Buf - ? (prolly Bowers or Dareus) Now, I must say the game I watched Clemson play this year (South Carolina) I was a tad on the underwhelmed side with Bowers. He was handled by one Olineman for most of the day and, once he the play was away from him, he wasn't going 100%. That said he did have huge stats in the sack category this year. I don't think any team can miss with Fairley. He's big, NFL-ready, mean and "dirty." I think the Bills could use about three of those types of guys but I'd be shocked if he fell to #3. Happy but shocked.
  10. I get the whole social media thing, but this is just asking for trouble one way or another. I'll be here with my popcorn tho.
  11. Unless that established player is Matt Ryan then absolutely not.
  12. Guys that have a knack for getting open have LONG careers in the NFL. Is it me or does he seem like a typical Patriots "no-name"?
  13. I know this is a C-Mac thread and all, and I'm glad the Bills paid him because he's a true leader...but I am Interested in an agent's perspective on the "top" soon-to-be draftees...Who are the top 10 guys all the agents are clamoring over?
  14. I guess Henne shows that the Parcells "formula" for picking college QBs isn't infallible. 1. He must be a senior, because you need time and maturity to develop into a good professional quarterback. 2. He must be a graduate, because you want someone who takes his responsibilities seriously. 3. He must be a three-year starter, because you need to make sure his success wasn’t ephemeral and that he has lived as “the guy” for some period of time. 4. He must have at least 23 wins, because the big passing numbers must come in the context of winning games.
  15. I dunno. the Bengals won their division last year and if you get the injury bug you still shouldn't get blanked 35-0 in the second half. In my view this has less to do with their defense and more to do with Carson Palmer, Batman and Robin coasting/sucking.
  16. This offense, with largely the same players was routinely scoring 3-10 points/game just a year ago
  17. not having a pop gun offense is a good thing it turns out.
  18. he's doing 100x more on offense with arguably the same (if not less) talent. That is a real positive. Once they get some more defensive talent this team may be closer than we think...hard to not give him high marks after yesterday's performance. I'm at the point now where Fitz should be the QB next year. No way a rookie will perform as well. Go get the biggest, baddest, fastest DE that can get to QBs.
  19. All this means is he sold the "rights" to his life story to CBS...whether this becomes a show and even has a pilot that airs is unknown.
  20. Gailey has to let his coaches know when to (or when they CAN'T) use timeouts. Making the Lions scramble to the 4th and 2 situation vs giving the time to think about it was not a good decision. If Edwards has that much leeway it should be rescinded after that. Completely agree about "marking" a player. The way Leodis was playing yesterday he should have been attached at Johnson's hip at all times.
