  1. We have a problem at tackle. We could have addressed it in free agency...we didn't. We could have addressed it in the draft...we didn't. We can address with a trade, and it looks like we aren't doing that either. We are in deep doo-doo with the existing tackles.
  2. Wow..the guy just got here. I wish him well and hope he's wonderful, but let's give him a preseason game or two before we label him a bust or put him in Canton.
  3. no no no...everything you said and we are leading going into the fourth quarter...and the world ends.
  4. ON MY DEATHBED....AS MY LIFE FLASHES BEFORE MY EYES...THAT PLAY, THE MUSIC CITY MIRACLE, AND SCOTT NORWOODS KICK...WILL BE FRONT AND CENTER AS MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENTS....
  5. Jack Kemp (1962-1969) Picked up off waivers from San Diego in 1962, Kemp is most remembered for leading the Bills to three AFL Championship games, winning two in 1964 and 1965. A former AFL MVP (’65) and six-time All-AFL player, Kemp is the AFL’s all-time leader in pass attempts, completions and passing yards. He’s also just one of 20 players to play in the American Football League for its entire existence. Kemp is in the AFL Hall of Fame and the Bills Wall of Fame and was a member of the Bills 25th Anniversary Team. “Jack could throw sidearm as hard as he could over the top, he could zoom that ball in their real hard,” said former Bills receiver Elbert Dubenion. “He probably had the strongest arm of anyone I had ever played with.” http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1...a0-4282eb80270e Kemp was a very very strong armed qb. And he won the AFL championship. I gotta go with him, although I think Kelly was the best overall qb.
  6. nazi board stuff. israelis and Palenstinians killing each other. Not exactly a new flash.
  7. I've been predicting this since we decided to go to a 3-4. The guy is not going to try a new position at this point in his career. A trade would be a good idea. This is exactly what happened to Phil Hansen when Greggo came in and announced he was going to a 4-3.
  8. Gonna put some lestoil in the picnic basket before I go to Batavia parks in the future. Could end up with "Ass-Burger" syndrome.
  9. darryl Lamonica...how can anyone dispute this? Actually Jack Kemp had a a remarkably strong arm as well. However in both cases they were protected by an excellent offensive line and perhaps the greatest blocking fullback halfback combination ever to play the game...Wray Carlton and Cookie Gilchrist.
  10. optimistic but I think it would be our best case scenario and certainly not impossible, with some really big ifs including the offensive line showing something early and the 3-4 developing quickly. Not an impossible situation and I would be expecting this from the coaching staff, given the very conservative personnel approach they have taken generally. The one big exception is the Spiller pick and if that pans out as we hope I think 9 wins would be much much more realistic.
  11. I'm less than impressed. I think the proposed lineup kind of screams "deep doo-doo"
  12. I'll be there for a week in late June and I make it a point to visit and pay tribute. It makes me feel good to see how well the military returning from Iraq and Afghanistan have been received, although I'm a little shocked at the conditions some of the bases are in where they return. Can't do enough for those folks, especially those who suffered disabling wounds.
  13. Solid offensive line is the key to success in almost every case. We are halfway there with Wood and Levitre, but need tackles and some solid backups to go anywhere.
  14. TE handled this pretty well. If it were me I'd probably have have said Kelly doesn't have a clue and some of the best qb's in the history of football have come from California.
  15. I'm about as negative as anyone but I can't really complain too much about the quality of Spiller. I think he could be a very good running back, and expect him to contribute next year. I had a problem with the fact that we are pretty good at the running back position and had other critical needs, but had no problem with the overall quality of the pick, as I agree with most of the pundits that Spiller is the best running back available. Is it a gamble? Sure, but odds are he will be a good back.
  16. I suspect betting money should be on TE or Brohm to start with TE having an edge. Fitz is in if those two fail to measure up. I suspect Levi has the third QB position to lose. At the minute I think Fitz is the odd man out but all of that could change if TE and/or Brohm don't step up early in training camp.
  17. I wrote this poem on my first visit to the wall. Conner was the scheduler who only had to fly one combat mission per month to get his flight pay, and at the last minute took me off the flight in which he lost his life. I always look at that name on the wall as the spot where I would have been. Conner/Elegy at dawn Nullus dolor est quem non longinquitas temporis minuat ac molliat. There is no grief which time does not lessen and soften./Cicero April 22, 1983 My morning run, leaving my hotel in Crystal City starting out before the sun Past the five sided building, haven for warriors Over the Arlington Memorial Bridge connecting the dead with the deathmakers, Running up the mall, in the dark passing wheelchaired warriors bivouacked with their bottles and their dreams, breathing in the cold night air, The scent of cherry blossoms, the white flowers above me the hope of dawn soon to come. The heady scent of spring. Alive. Up the mall to the Capital, and turning, picking up speed, rushing back toward father Abraham. father Abraham, who died in April as well, when lilacs bloomed, April 22, 1970 Conner and Wall with the rest of us on the truck to the flight line Preparing for our missions in Laos “Their mission was ours”, said Porter,” Conner changed the schedule last night” Six hours later we flew over the flame and the smoke, the helicopter lost in rescue. Conner and Wall killed on the flight that should have been ours. April 22, 1983 A bearded old man steps out from the Lincoln Memorial and beckons me. “I was a nurse. I tended the sick” he said. He pointed me toward the Wall, and said…”Tend your dead.” I was directed into the dawn by a white haired, homeless and hungry man who has seen war. The sun is beginning to come up as I look up the names silvered into stone. Nightengale, Cummings, Bowen, Wall…And Conner. I pray. I touch their names. I run off into the day. copyright 2009
  18. yeah..in Gaithers case that would explain any offsides. For Bell and Green it is just a testament to their dedication and emotion. Neither the Raiders nor the Bills would have made the playoffs last year without their hard work.
  19. Whiners and complainers!!! Why can't they see that we are the most awesome team in the NFL! Pro bowlers at nearly every position. Undefeated season!!!
  20. He has a motivation problem. You want to know motivation? Demetrious Bell and Cornell Green, our present starting tackles are so motivating they get an extraordinary number of off-sides penalties. Only the unintelligent think of offsides as a bad thing. Really it shows motivation. All Gaither ever really bothers to do is pass block and run block. He lacks that off-sides penalty quality demonstrated by our present tackles. The Ravens should give US their second round pick to give Gaither a chance to play alongside Bell and Green.
  21. just trying to be upbeat about the season. Only six or seven of them are going to deserve probowl status. A lot of the credit will go to our great offensive line and trent edwards arm!
  22. not good enough for two other teams and he left the Ravens because he refused to have surgery that the Ravens wanted. I don't care if freakin Marcus Welby or the oversexed guys from Greys anatomy swore he could play...I sure wouldn't rest my defensive line hopes on this guy.
  23. Dwan Edwards FAILED TWO PHYSICALS, but was a huge part of the Ravens defense. Edwards had a big game in the playoffs last year vs the Patriots (including a pivotal sack on Brady). The article that was provided showed comments from Ngata that stated losing Edwards is a huge blow to their defense. DUH...he FAILED TWO PHYSICALS and we are relying on him to carry a major load as a starter in a new defense?
  24. That is one of the strongest receiving corps in NFL history.. I just can't wait for the season opener! How are we going to keep them all happy with them sharing playing time? Is there going to be jealousy because probably no more than three of them will go to the pro-bowl?
