  1. I was pleasantly surprised with the D in the last game, although the ability to sack the qb will be an issue. The front seven seemed to be developing, but the injury bug at linebacker is a real pain in the neck. Let's see how they do against Green Bay.
  2. Dear Trent, Until you get an offensive line you aren't going to do crap. Do what you can keep your head down and try to sign on with a real football team when your contract expires or they let you go.
  3. he might be a number 1 receiver if we ever get an offensive line that would give the qb more than 2 seconds to get rid of the ball, and assuming we get that, we have a qb who can deliver it. Let me reiterate...Evans looks bad because of the poor pass protection. Edwards looks bad because of poor pass protection. You won't know anything bout either one of them until the pass protection issue gets resolved. Nobody cared about this in free agency, nobody cared about it in the draft, nobody cared about it in trades and nobody cared about it on the waiver wire. Answer....everyone is going to suck until someone recognizes the problem and does something about it.
  4. I liked 10,000 Maniacs but they didn't really stay together all that long. Spyro Gyra (saw them recently) are really outstanding and still putting out good original stuff.
  5. Our hopeless situation is attributable to the offensive line, to wit, the two tackles. We should have addressed that long ago, and if there is a possibilty to get an adequate offensive tackle for Lynch, I say go for it. I just don't think there is any adequate tackle that any team is in any position to give up right now. Like a previous poster says, why trade for a receiver to whom we can't get the ball. Why not be able to get the ball to Vince when we are already successful at not getting the ball to Roscoe or Lee? I disagree that it is the quarterback until we have an actual pass blocking situation that allows me to see whether the quarterback can get the ball to the receivers.
  6. Nah...he's not a McNabb guy...he's a Trent Edwards guy. Oh happy day. He's apparently not an offensive line guy either.
  7. ". It doesn’t matter who you have in the backfield if you don’t have the horses up front to block for them.” HELLO? HELLO? IS ANYONE IN THE BILLS FRONT OFFICE?
  8. Silliness. Why not have a separate area where the players can come out to be interviewed? Players should be in the locker room to shower. I work at a university and we put huge amounts of effort in keeping locker rooms sterile with concerns about MRSA and other infections. Having folks traipsing in and out when I'm certain people have open bruises and cuts (except of course for the buffalo offensive line, which has wind burn from defensive ends running by them) it is not good to have any journalist or anyone else in there unless they have a good reason to. I think the NFLPA might want to chime in on this as a hygiene issue.
  9. I played offensive line, defensive line, and tight end in high school and in the air force (squadron teams). I never really had an issue with "into it" as i was always pretty revved up. Revved up is not to say I was very good or anything though. I used to put a lot into giving the first hit whatever position I played. I thought of it as a statement that set the tone. My son (a hockey player who played footbal as well) used to spit on the hand of the defensive lineman who was across from him. He drew lots of penalties when the d-lineman reacted. I wish I had thought of that.
  10. probably because they weren't asked, weren't offered enough money, were concerned and not confident in coaching, were scared off because of a poor offensive line. The main reason is that we did not aggressively recruit them nor did we put together enough of a financial package for those we were interested in.
  11. Well...he could have said "The front office had better get off theirasses and find me some tackles that can give me a few seconds to actually play football." That would be the leadership we need...not asking tackles who don't have the ability to do anything to do what they can't possibly do.
  12. Trent Edwards may be good and may be bad. Spiller, Jackson and Lynch may be good or bad. Evans may be good or bad. LISTEN. It all starts with the offensive line. Until that is fixed we won't know. Edwards sucks with this offensive line. Spiller sucks with this offensive line. Evans sucks with this offensive line. Nix and Gailey, assuming they know what they are doing...knew this the day they came to the Bills organization. They had lots of opportunities to address it, and chose not to. Nine wins or out for both of them.
  13. "We sucked. The offensive line isn't for shyt and I don't have to time to throw the freaking ball. They can't run block." How about that for tellling it like it is?
  14. We should have gotten McNeil during the preseason, but it would have cost us our first round draft choice. No point in doing it now. He's not going to come in after the season has started and make a huge difference. This problem was obvious the day Nix and Gailey took over. They had a whole bunch of ways to deal with it and didn't. I'm not convinced the problem can be resolved for this season.
  15. he may be groggy from all those sacks and not having more than a second or two to see down the field. He seems to be finding it hard to say we have a super bowl team? Well...let's see why he would find it so hard. Oh...there it is....NO FREAKING OFFENSIVE line.
  16. I said it when we let him go. We needed to keep the linemen, especially because at the time we weren't sure when or if Wood would make a complete recovery. Further it would have added meaningful depth to the interior positions, would have allowed us a little leeway to perhaps play Wood at center. Dumb move letting him go.
  17. its a freaking 3/4. Did the guy line up on the line or come up to the line? He's on TE's left. TE can't see through his own helmet. There is a reason its called the freaking BLIND side.
  18. I was amused when those on this board pushed for him as "the answer" at the tackle spot. The RAIDERS didn't want him, and he was a penalty machine.
  19. This is why I thought we should have gotten an additional linebacker help off the waiver wire last week. Poz is always hurt.
  20. We NEED a qb!!! Instead of TE getting sacked and given no time to throw we need a first round pick to come in get sacked and have no time to throw.
  21. Edwards didn't look good, but he didn't have a lot of time to look good (offensive line.) The receivers didn't look good, but they didn't have a lot of time to get open (offensive line.) The running backs didn't look good, but they couldn't get to or past the line of scrimmage (offensive line.) Gailey didn't look good, but the Phins rushing the passer before anything could develop, catching running backs before they could get to the line of scrimmage or opening up holes in the rare event they could get to the line of scrimmage kind of put a crimp on their style. (offensive line.) oh..Flozell Adams, Marcus McNeil, Brian Baluga, et al...wouldn't have helped?
  22. I thought the play was quite a good call. Took me a little bit to figure it out but it was the best call for that situation.
  23. I'd give him the whole season, but he'd better have nine wins by the end of it.
