  1. Great covers. Now draft a few defensive linemen and linebackers who put that look in Brady's eyes at least twice NEXT year.
  2. ANSWER...Aggressive work in free agency. ANSWER...good drafting (starting offensive RT) ANSWER...Identifying and staying with one quarterback ANSWER...Moving aggressively to keep good players ANSWER...drafting for positions of need. With all due respect is no great achievement to move from 7-9 to a playoff berth.
  3. We can never have too many mom and pop pizza places...good luck!! Let us know where it is so we can order from you!!!
  4. Didn't we draft LaMonica out of Notre Dame and trade him TO the Raiders. The Mad Bomber took them to the superbowl I believe. I think the trade was Flores and Art Powell for Glen Bass and LaMonica or something like that. Bad trade.
  5. We will beat them when we actually decide to beat them. Stop worshiping at the altar of Brady and Belichick and grow a set. Get and keep defensive linemen and linebackers who are going to get Brady off the field and get and keep running backs who are going to keep our offense on the field. It isn't all that hard. We talk like losers, think like losers, draft like losers, and go into free agency like losers what do you think the result is going to be?
  6. get real..look at the 2010 season. We don't have a clue what we want to run. Get the players and use them as you need. Who give a crap is the player is "happy".
  7. The jets just did it. Rattle the qb with a killer front seven. Establish a running game that keeps their offense off the field. This isn't rocket science or magic.
  8. Value draft day includes players. a 10, 3d and Haynesworth might be worth considering.
  9. Dean Cain, but I don't know if he was a Buffalo Bill long enough to count. Come to think of it I'm not sure he was a super hero on tv long enough to count.
  10. If someone at 10 wants Peterson (for instance) bad enough...they'll trade for him. If we think it worthwhile and are certain that we can meet one of our major needs at ten...we'll be agreeable, given a draft choice or talent that makes it work. Who is to say that such a thing cannot happen?
  11. if we don't go with Newton, we'll probably take Ponder or Dalton. I just can't see us missing the opportunity to make a huge improvement on the defensive line with the best or possibly second best defensive lineman available in the draft. Newton is going to be hard to pass up, but I think we'd be wise to address our major area of need.
  12. Mike Smith... Actually I hate to say this, and don't like the guy, but Rex Ryan has done a nice job with the jets. Pete Carrol has had a very good first year. John Harbaugh is looking good Sean Payton is pretty darn good There seems to be a logjam after Bill Belichik.
  13. No offense, but if you have to make plans to "control" drinking, or can't go a reasonable period of time without drinking...do you concede there might be a problem?
  14. I believe OJ was part of a world record 4/110 team that hit a still extant world record. However he never competed in the Olympics. I guess it is down to Roberson and Trent Edwards. Trent is probably in the Czech hall of fame.
  15. Now that's a real brush with greatness. When I first came down here I was meeting with a physician faculty member on legal stuff and noted a handsome young green beret photo. I thought he had aged greatly, but since I had been in Vietnam mentioned. The young man was his son who had won the Medal of Honor in Vietnam. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Holden_Doane I remember when I used to post on PPP how a right wing non combat person whined how medals were given cheaply in Viet Nam. Wonder what Dr. Doane would think of that comment.
  16. I share your uncle's view on the first superbowl. I thought the tandem of Cookie and Wray Carlton were outstanding power runners and our offensive line with Hall of Famer Billy Shaw would have given Kemp the opportunity to pass, and they would have been a very effective power running duo. Our defense had a fierce line and backer corps...Day, Sestak, Dunaway and McDole and Tracy Jacobs and Stratton. Byrd and Edgerson at corner and Saimes at safety..to this day I think the best AFL team that year was the Buffalo Bills.
  17. Being snowed in yesterday I read a book about the 1960 Olympics in Rome by David Maranis (sp?) and ran across an interesting little tidbit on the American track and field team with a guy being mentioned quite a bit named Bo Roberson. I recalled the name as a guy we traded for after Dubenion and Bass both got hurt to help us with our passing from Oakland. From Wikipedia He caught three passes for eighty-eight yards in the Bills' 23-0 defeat of the Chargers in the 1965 American Football League Championship Game. . Anyway he siver medaled in the Olympics almost matching Ralph Boston's record long jump. Are there any other Bills who have won medals in the Olympics? =
  18. No..bulletin board material doesn't. What does is than thing where the clock runs out and you have more points than the other team. Ryan is pretty good at doing that. What does is drafting wisely. Ryan has done well with that. What does is getting your team focused and confident. Ryan does that.
  19. What's love got to do with it? We "love" our coach, spiller and jackson, but we're at the bottom of the league. We don't love Lynch, Peters, or others...but they are in the playoff. We "hate" Ryan and hes a douche...but he's in the friggin playoffs. You want love? Get a dog. You want a playoff team...get and keep people who can play and find someone who can coach you into the playoffs. Maybe Gailey will do that...He had some good games toward the last part of the season...but I'm sure not criticizing Ryan or bad mouthing Lynch, Peters or the many other ex bills who are playing in the playoffs after leaving buffalo.
  20. he is a lot of things, but he isn't dumb. You don't get to the playoffs and well into this playoffs by being dumb or by having low expectations. I wish the Bills would take notice and act accordingly.
  21. I'm so old I remember the east west shrine game being held in the old rockpile where a young linebacker named Marty Schottenheimer impressed the Bills enough to draft him. Not that he was the greatest linebacker in the world but he played behind the triumvirate of Tracey, Jacobs and Stratton.
  22. He'd better learn to pass block...maybe he and the offensive line can go to pass blocking camp this summer?
  23. Marshawn was and is a power back. Spiller is, as Gailey described hime...a "waterbug". With our weak offensive line a power back would be a great complement. I had hoped we would have kept all three backs through the season and would have gotten some help on the offensive line. A power back getting first downs and hurting the defense would have been very valuable. If the argument was "yeah he's good, but we can't handle him" then we need better handlers...If the argument is "yeah he's good but our offensive line isn't"...the answer is to get a better offensive line. If the argument is "he's not good" ...Look at that run again.
  24. Excellent draft. I think somewhere in the 3-4 round if available I would certainly take Luke Stocker TE of the Vols and I really was impressed with the linebacker Tank Carder from TCU but that is based on the one game I saw him play. I have no idea where he will be on the draft board but I like his style.
