  1. In round 4 I would have gone for Luke Stocker TE out of Tennessee over Da'Norris Searcy. Other than that I don't think I could improve on the way we drafted.
  2. One thing we can all agree on...we should all be very proud of our US military people today! Actually I guess we should all be proud of them every day.
  3. I'm as negative a poster as anyone and even I have to admit that this draft is an excellent one! I'm happy about Dareus more than anything and I thought of him as the best thing that could happen to the Bills, but kind of assumed he would go to Denver. The rest of the draft looks good, although we did seem to go heavy on d-backs. I'm hoping that doesn't mean we have given up on Whitner. We have to overcome the perception that we can't keep anyone any good through free agency. Getting good players is something we have to improve on but KEEPING them is another area we need work.
  4. I'd like to see what he bases his supposition about Ryan Fitzpatrick. Dareus a B? WHAT????? The best player available in a position of critical need? Is this guy crazy or what? I'm not seeing any of the players as stretches or drafting in uneeded positions. Well, maybe the running back. The guy's reasoning seems to be "the bills suck" "the bills drafting always sucks" and therefore this draft sucks. I'm sorry but this draft is looking good to me and I've got to have a lot more to go on than what this guy says to change my mind.
  5. no..we should have traded back for Ponder and drafted Dalton and Mallet in the second. We might have gotten a couple of more lesser known qb's in rounds three and four and few free agents. We have a pretty good quarterback and a questionable offensive line. The draft was an A plus in my book and the only thing I would have liked more was if a premier offensive tackle slipped into the second round for us. Didn't happen but we made the best of what was there. Good job Buddy and Chan.
  6. I can't see any other possible grade than an A plus and I'm probably one of the most critical on the board of Nix and Gailey. Great job...addressing real areas of need. I think NINE wins this year is a real possibility!
  7. yup..and if stevie smith becomes the next jerry rice and demetrius bell becomes the next Art Shell and Leodis McKelvin becomes the next deion sanders.....
  8. stocker I see...from Tennessee...in round three. I think he is better than Rudolph, less injury prone, and can block.
  9. I can't see the Bills pick as any less than A by any standards. He was the best player on the board. He was in one of our biggest positions of need. Unless Atlanta wanted to put together three years of ones and twos and a passle of threes and fours, I can't think of any way we could have done better. Actually I think we deserved an A plus for this choice.
  10. Akeem Ayers or Bruce Carter, linebackers or Pinkerton, the OT from Pittsburgh. I see us really addressing the trenches in this draft.
  11. I agree with you and particularly with your reasoning. I would hope its Dareus or Miller or a trade down. If it can't be either, I'd hate to see us stretching and turning a 3 pick into a 9 pick, and would rather take a Peterson, although everything else should go toward strengthening the front 7.
  12. I would be surprised if we went with Green, although I wouldn't be surprised with any pick of the other top four-Newton, Dareus, Miller or Peterson. I'm still big on Dareus or Miller as they would go a long way of solving our biggest problem, no pass rush and inability to stop the run. The other two are more risky and don't reallyaddress our biggest problems, but they are the best players available. I would hope that if Dareus and Miller aren't there we would trade down...if we didn't trade down, I'd have to pick Peterson, then Newton, then Green. Should be kind of interesting tonite.
  13. Right...take a #3 pick and get a guy who should go at 10-15. That's the way to go!
  14. Lombardi, Dukes et al, seemed to indicate that the Bills were considering Peterson if Dareus weren't there at 3. I'm still in favor of a Dareus or Von Miller pick, but I guess if Peterson is a Bruce Smith, Jim Kelly, Peyton Manning, Deion Sanders kind of player he might be worth going after. I just can't imagine he's that kind of player.
  15. The Bills like Newton, Dareus and Von Miller. Gabbert is a possibility, I guess, but not at three. I see us going with one of the big three. A shocking pick but one a case might be made for AJ Green or Peterson (I would not like the pick of either but they are legitimate top five pick material.)
  16. The top five players are Newton, Dareus, Miller, Peterson and Green. Nobody has Gabbert in that mix. I think Nix was alluding to the idea that if Newton were available at 3 he would take him, but he doesn't think that will happen. At the end of the day I think he is thinking along the Dareus or Von Miller lines. I don't see him going for Peterson or Green and I don't see him doing a "reach" for Gabbert.
  17. Miller or Dareus. We can't lose with either one. The "worse" situation is Dareus and Miller going one and two and then we are "stuck" with Newton. I don't see a bad outcome.
  18. We should have two all pro cornerbacks...Clements and Winfield. If we are going to talk "patience" while we rebuild, we should couple that with a commitment to keep our good players.
  19. pretty much what I expected. Dareus will almost certainly go second and Newton first, leaving us with the third (or fourth if you rate Peterson higher) player in the draft in a position of need. Miller is a killer pass rusher, so I know he'll be a difference maker. Actually this draft is kind of boring as the top ten picks are so obvious.
  20. The best defensive tackle will probably be taken second overall. I agree that Von Miller is the best player for us at three and unless there is an attractive trade down option he seems to be the available guy who will best help our defense right now in a position of need.
  21. for the bills? Dareus or Von Miller for sure. Either one will start at a much needed position on day one and vastly improve our defense. Not a Spiller or a Maybin.
  22. Frankly I would have gone with Flutie at the time. The Johnson pick for a playoff game threw me when it was Flutie who actually got us to the game and Flutie who had had a ton of playoff experience in Canada.
  23. I'm sensing pretty much of a consensus building for Von Miller at number one? I'm kind of leaning in that direction although Marcellus Dareus would be fine as well.
