I like having Barnett and he sounds as if he might be better than Poz. That and the signing of Florence and Dareus make our defense BETTER than it was two weeks ago. Keep improving.

kind of a major leap to see us shopping Lee Evans just because we signed Brad Smith. The major receivers will probably be Evans, Steve Smith, Roscoe and Brad. I would think we would be very comfortable with this contingent, and if someone were to go...much as I would regret seeing it....it would be Roscoe. Smith was a good pick up...not a great addition to positions of need, but a good solid utility guy.

Ocho Cinco going to the Pats
tennesseeboy replied to Bill Cowher's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The bills have not gotten better so far this season and the Jets and Pats have gotten significantly better. No question about that. I'm slightly optimistic about the draft, but the fact is our linebacking corps is not as good as it was last week, we haven't upgraded our offensive line, Our defensive backfield, without Whitner will be somewhat less good. But as long as Nix and Gailey give us nine wins, I'm willing to eat my words. -
Add a crack pipe and a trailer and she could be a Miami Dolphins cheerleader.

Florence re-ups with Bills, 3 years 15M reported

good job re-signing Florence. Now we have to get more active in free agency as we are in need of another linebacker, and OT and could definitely use a tight end to begin the season. -
Bills interested in OT Tyson Clabo

I suspect the big factor is going to be the benjamins, but I think as well that money being close, he will stay in atlanta. Great qb, exciting offense, big market and familiarity with the system would be factors to consider. Lesson- we better come high in the dollars or stay home. He would be a huge asset for our offense if we can get him. -
Roscoe Parrish vs Kansas City

more good wide receivers. if having a lot were the key we'd have super strength at linebacker and tight end. -

Clabo would be a great free agent signing. Good player in a position of need. I don't see any reason not to get tghis deal done. I love the idea of getting out of free agency with Clabo and a very good tight end. Anything else would be great but if we fill those two holes there would be a terrific improvement on the offensive side of the ball. -
Strong chance that the Jets

They can get anyone they want other than Drayton Florence, but the word on the street is that they are going after Florence big time. -
Poz signs with Jax, 6 years $7.5M/year reported
tennesseeboy replied to clearwater cadet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's get real. We are a worse team now than we were last week and last week were the third worst team in football. Nix said it was a priority to sign Poz and Florence and he already failed to sign Poz. We are a worse team now than we were when Nix and Gailey took over and so far we are signing Tyler freaking Thigpen, which is about as bad a free agent signing as that guy we got from Oakland (OAKLAND?) who even Oakland didn't want and was a penalty machine. Nine wins or out Buddy....nine wins or out. -
Whitner to sign elsewhere
tennesseeboy replied to Frostbelt City's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Answer me this...if the back up is so much better than Whitner...why didn't he start? -
The top moves in free agency? one...sign our own free agents if possible...two find offensive line (tackles and tight end) and third find a linebacker. We could make major improvements in the free agency market and fill some GAPING holes...Left tackle and right tackle.

If Poz leaves, will you be upset??
tennesseeboy replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Again, who would start next season if Poz goes? Would our linebacking corps be better in the fall of 2011 than they were in the fall of 2012? NO!!!! Until there is a plan B on the board sign the guy who you have who most of experts see as pretty good. Why are we talking about Poz when we have weaknesses galore in the offensive line and other positions? Sign Poz and move on. whoops..fall of 2011 than they were in 2010....actually before we let poz go we should also have some idea of what the defense should be looking like in 2012. -

okay...read all the posts. Nobody has any idea who would take Poz's place. If there were somebody on board who was better than him..I imagine they would be playing. If we signed a free agent who could take his place, I haven't heard of him yet. If there was a dynamic inside linebacker drafted, I'm not aware of him. In a 3-4 or 4-3 is it important to have good linebackers? I would think so. If he went to free agency would he be considered one ot the top linebacker free agents? I think so. SOOOOOO...sign him and move on..nothing to see here. -

okay...if he's gone...who takes his place? -
I agree. He's one of the best linebackers we have, and I understand he is one of the top twenty available free agents. I think signing him should be a no-brainer.

Bucky Brooks calls Merriman signing
tennesseeboy replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It will pay off or it won't...2.5 million isn't a bet the farm investment. Let's see if he is any good, and if he isn't let's move on. -

Joking abou the depth part? hell no. -
Roscoe Parrish vs Kansas City
tennesseeboy replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Roscoe has a major role to play both as a punt returner and as one of the receivers. Johnson, Evans, Roscoe isn't too shabby, although we could use a little more depth and perhaps someone to spell Roscoe. -

Actually charging them is quite easy...its the convicting them that's hard!
