  1. Whitner is in the playoffs....the Bills aren't....deal with it.
  2. I don't know..that 30 yard one handed catch this afternoon looked pretty darn good. Remember he was injured, as WR's sometimes are. Hope we get a fourth rounder who can make a catch like that in a major playoff game...oh...wait a minute..we aren't a playoff team....
  3. I suspect that "penalty" was one of many in the course of that game that the refs missed. Missed calls and bad calls (the Magic City Miracle) are part of the game and there isn't much use in pointing them out after the game is over. I'm sure the refs will be watching for it in the New England game, though.
  4. I don't see any difference. If the refs don't see it (holding, too many men on the field, illegal formation) and the play goes on, there isn't a review.
  5. In many teams where advancing to the playoff is a priority (not the Bills of course), there is a price to pay when you don't make it. In the Jets case it was the offense and there are three possible sacrificial lambs...the head coach (not gonna happen) the qb (not gonna happen) and the OC (well.......). The piper has to be paid at the end of the day when such teams are concerned.
  6. my bank takes them and puts them i a machine and gives me the dollars. I go every few months. Beats rolling coins for sure. Try RegionsBank, I use it here in Johnson City.
  7. no big thing. On appropriate review in critical games of the season we would find innumberable holding penalties, pass interferences, unsportsmanlike conducts to call back all sorts of things on the day after. It is what it is, and if the ref didn't see it...that's the breaks.
  8. Our record since Jason Peters left? I beg to differ.
  9. I'd be very surprised to see anything but an OT, OLB or DE. Wouldn't necessarily despise a WR pick. I don't see a franchise qb showing up at 10 to cause controversy. I think anything other than the four positions would make it hard not to despise the pick.
  10. Say what you want about Chan Gailey...so far he is a loser. That may change, but he's had plenty of time to begin turning the tide.
  11. I don't see Bell coming back. I think we should go with your alternate, Rief, who is one hell of a tackle candidate as the number one pick. After that it's OLB's and perhaps a defensive end as top priorities in the draft.
  12. We need a new head coach, and Marty would be a very strong candidate. He is a winner, and the beef that he "can't" go far in the playoffs is kind of meaningless to a team that can't break even in the win-loss column. That being said, I'm not so into the concept of Marty being in as I am to the concept of Chan being out. I guess we will go another non-winning season with Chan before the Bills higher ups realize this. It took how many years since Jason Peters left before Nix et al noticed that they needed a left tackle?
  13. it is always nice to dissension and dissarray on any team in our division. I'm not sure whether going after Manning is a good or bad idea for them, but as long as the concept causes rift and disunity I'm happy with the conflict!
  14. there are three ot's among most people's first ten best players. We should get one.
  15. I agree with you. While the biggest need is OT and there are two or even three franchise class OT's in this class, a true blue chip OLB would be a great choice as well. Left tackle has been a gaping and crippling hole since Peters left, so it has to be the number one or number two pick, IMHOP. I would have said number one PERIOD, but I had to leave room for a truly franchise non OT player who might drop to our pick.
  16. I think left tackle should be a priority in either round 1 or round 2. If we don't get him there, we had better get aggressive in free agency. OLB is the next critical area, and then defensive end. You build a winning team from the trenches back.
  17. Darryl Lamonica. Glen Bass. More recently, Peters, Incognito, Williams, Washington, Poz, Whitner, Evans, Lynch, Greer, Leonhard/
  18. I'll go out on a limb and say the broncos can beat them....oh?....they did? Well..whaddaya know.
  19. Sure lynch could of helped us if we KNEW that Fred was going to get hurt...But we didn't, and in fact Fred Jackson was on an MVP pace before he got hurt. So "blaming" Nix/Gailey for replacing Lynch with a better player (and getting picks for him), is just asinine IMO. Lynch could have helped us by being the number two guy and if we had chosen a quality player in a position of need instead of CJ Spiller. CJ is not the player Lynch is, at least not yet and certainly not this year. People love to tout Whitner, now that he is on a team with a terrific coach and loaded with defensive talent. I have yet to hear anyone (including Whitner) say that he played better than George Wilson when he was healthy. Again, you are "blaming" Nix/Gailey for IMPROVING the SS position. Incognito? Really? Are you saying that he is good? He was ranked as one of the top 5 dirty players in the league, so I guess he's got that going for him. The guy wasn't good when he was here, a penalty machine. As to Whitner, the SF 49er's allowed ONE rushing touchdown all year. They are in the playoffs and Whitner played a huge role in that game. Not to bring up a sore point but Wilson was on the field when New England scored 49 (count'em) unanswered points. Posluzny is another fellow we could have used. Barnett is terrific but we needed a second inside linebacker and didn't have one.Conrad Dobler was one of our best guards ever and he was a perennial dirty player. We have two good gaurds but offensive linemen get hurt and Incognito could have made a huge difference in our options when Wood and/or Levitre or others missed games. This was an obvious need when Icognito was allowed to leave.Evans? Again, really? Yes the Bills desperately need WR help, but Evans did basically nothing this year...The 4th round pick we got for him seems like a pretty big win for the Bills to me. Better receivers, such as Lloyd, only returned a 6th round pick. BTW, Gailey probably has input regarding personnel decisions, but Nix and the FO are the ones that pull the trigger. Also, I don't think there is even a remote possibility that Gailey is replaced this off season, so you may end up disappointed... I agree with you here. I think we're stuck with another four or five win season before Gailey gets dumped.
  20. There is a bottom line here. He has had two or soon to be three drafts and three years of free agency, and has taken two years to settle on a starting qb (perhaps?) The Bills played some of their worst football ever in the second half of this season, with Chan at the helm. Sorry...I would fire him now, but if he stays, one would expect us to make the playoffs next year.
  21. This is his team. That includes the entire roster, and he had a hand in decisions that inlcluded getting rid of at least fiur players who could have helped us immensely this year, Lynch, Whitner, Incognito and Evans, when he didn't have competent replacements or depth to justify the decisions. In the final analysis after two years he should be expected to build a competitive team. He has made some progress, but his going to a 3-4 without the personnel needed to play it (and we still don't have the personnel) his failure to improve the team through free agency. Most of all its his failure to win games. The New England game was an embarassment of the highest order. Say what you want about Chan...he's not proven to be a good coach. I imagine he is not going to be replaced until next year, so we'll just have to wait and see.
  22. I can't even imagine the Bills would let him go. It would be the star of stupid moves on a team administration that has established the gold standard for stupid moves.
  23. wow...are the jets ready to give up on Sanchez? It would take a first and second rounder and probably a second first or second rounder to get Manning, which would give the Colts a great beginning of a rebuild. It isn't a crazy idea by any means. The Jets would be rolling the dice on Peyton's health though.
  24. In the final analysis its all about winning football games. Injury bugs happen to everyone, free agency happens to everyone, and failures to keep good players or recruit them is on the management. We played awful football the final three quarters of the season. I'm not all that sure we have a better team than Jauron had, and that is two full years into the Nix/Gailey administration. We had better set some goals for next year and hold folks feet to the fire. I noticed the Patsies offensive co-ordinator just ripping into the Pates offense after they were down 21-0. There is a reason they win.
