  1. I'm not sure how one could say that Floyd is nfl ready but Rief and Martin are not. Many mock drafts show them as top ten picks, and on this board many say Rief will be taken before the tenth pick. For what its worth if either Rief (my choice) or Martin is there at ten we would have to go with them. If both are gone? WR will get a look.
  2. There are three LT prospects worthy of a #10 pick or better, and it is where we have been weak, and where, assuming Bell doesn't come back, we will be in a condition of arterial bleeding. Not having addressed the need in free agency to date, it is an obvious choice. The next need is for WR and this draft is pretty deep with them and I see us getting one in the second or third. A linebacker should be in the mix, but not until we get the best OT available at 10
  3. Reif ia the obvious and best choice should he be available. There are five or six "blue chips" sure to go before we pick, Luck, Griffin, Kalil, Blackmon, Richardson, and Claiborne. Of what will be left, Rief will be the best pick.
  4. I see us going with Rief at 10. He's the best OT available after Kalil. I see us going for Zach Brown, OLB, North Carolina in the second round. I see us going for Jarius Wright, WR from Arkansas in Round three.
  5. Finally...the Bills seem to have accepted the inevitable...you build a great team from the trenches back. Now do the same with the o-line and we'll be cooking with gas.
  6. Exactly. Tebow may have an upside, and Sanchez may really not be a good qb, but there is going to be second guessing of Sanchez every time he throws an interception. This is taking an almost poisonous locker room and adding a passle of trouble. It could work out, but at what price?
  7. There are two or three stud OT's in the draft. I don't think Kalil will get past the first five, but Rief or Martin should be our targets. If Fitz has less than adequate blind side protection we have no passing game. This draft is heavy with wide receivers and we can get a first rate receiver in round 2.
  8. Offensive line? I am not surprised. Hope he develops into a good solid addition to the team.
  9. I would LOVE to see us get Kalil, but I don't see that happening. He will go in first five picks, and I suspect it will be too expensive to move up to five to get him. I'd be surprised but delighted if somehow we get him with a reasonable (REASONABLE!) trade up scenario. He's going to be something special.
  10. Gregg and Chan made the same mistake. Gregg went into the 4/3 without the personnel and disgruntled existing quality personnel (Hansen retired). Chan went to the 3/4 without the personnel and lost disgruntled quality personnel (Schobel). You can't run a race until you have a racehorse.
  11. I think we could get him for a fourth (perhaps the fourth round pick we got for lee evans?). He would be an improvment over Brad Smith and a real threat in the red zone. Certainly would make our wildcat look a lot better. I don't see him competing for a starting job unless Fitz gets hurt or just falls apart. I think it would be a move that makes sense for a fourth or fifth round pick. I wouldn't go above that though.
  12. Rief's arm length is 3/4 inch from a "good" arm size. There may be some reasons not to take him over other OT's but a "short arm" isn't a good one. I would not be surprised if he isn't picked even before we get a chance at him. If he's there...go with him.
  13. The objective should be to improve the offense this year by filling obvious holes, and tackle is the biggest hole we have. Wide receiver and depth on the o-line should come next. Tebow may or may not be good, but we don't have the luxury of going after him.
  14. For an interesting evening hit the Dubliner near Union Station. Lots of Buffalo expats hang there, the Irish music is great and the food not bad at all. http://dublinerdc.com/
  15. We have our qb's and don't have our offensive tackles or depth on the o-line, and we could use another receiver. Tebow is a luxury we can't afford.
  16. We have to get tougher. Hell..let's play without helmets!!!
  17. Look, he is recovering from an injury and at 100% is the best defensive lineman, maybe the best defensive player in the game today. Huge huge addition to what has been a weak spot, and there are two proven defensive tackles starting the season. I'm not sure about Kelsay, but between him and possible draft help we will have gone a LONG way toward respectability. I suppose the proof will be in the pudding as to how we do next year, but looking at it as of this moment it is a very good deal for the Bills.
  18. players aren't fungible. We need a left tackle and if Kalil or Reif are available we should draft them. If not I'd go with the best wr or olb available.
  19. At the time I said he was leaving because he didn't want to transition to a 3-4 just like Hansen retired when williams wanted to transition to a 4-3. I don't know what the guy has left but switching back to a 4-3 would be a step in the right direction. I think I'd look to the draft for another DE first.
  20. A LOT!! I think he's a Bruce Smith caliber kind of guy and I'm impressed with our tackles. We have to get a little help at linebacker and we'll be playoff worthy on defense. Getting the offensive line in shape with a good solid LT and some depth, and one more wide receiver and I think we might get into the playoffs.
  21. Rief should be there at ten and we need an offensive tackle more than almost anything else. I suspect that if he's still there we will go for him. If a stud tackle isn't there a tradeback might not be a bad idea.
  22. Ahhh...Savannah, the parade, Tybee Island, the rugby tournament...now THAT is st. Patty's day..
  23. I've been skeptical of Buddy and Chan, but this is a great move forward and they deserve a lot of credit!
  24. our first and second round should go to positions of critical need. If we get Mario that will probably be an OT and then an OLB or wide receiver.
  25. old women are fine....don't swell, don't tell, and they're grateful as hell.
