  1. I suppose anyone might be a bust. I have a concern about Glenn that he might be another Mike Williams/Maybin attitude bust. Floyd has serious off the field issues and in the worst case could be a bust.
  2. seems to be boiling down to Reiff, Glenn,Martin Floyd or Kuechley. Are there any other players we are enthused about at 10?
  3. I agree with you that the proposed stadium at that time was not the one that should have been built. I do think that that area would have been better for a stadium. In my ideal world maybe putting the UB campus on the waterfront and the Bills stadium where the Amherst campus is might have been the best of all worlds. The Amherst location would be more convenient for the Rochester market and for the Canadians. Oh well...spilt milk.
  4. Let's be reasonable here. No one player is going to elevate a deflated team. The roster in general has to be upgraded. Adding a good LT in itself is not going to result in a magical SB run. The addition of a good LT will be a positive step in a process that requires many positive steps. whoah...I'm as debbie downer about the present administration as anyone, but I hardly think we have a deflated team. Fitz is steady and played well until he was injured in toronto and the injury bug decimated the offensive line. Johnson is a stud receiver and Jackson and Spiller came of age. We were very deflated without a defensive line last year, but Kyle and Mario are there now along with Anderson and Kelsay, and we can really pick up our defensive with the addition of a great linebacker. We can pick up the offense with a left tackle (biggest need) and another wide receiver. I'm kind of optimistic, assuming we make wise decisions in the draft.
  5. The two biggest mistakes made in Buffalo in my lifetime were the decision to build the main UB campus in Amherst instead of downtown on the tnen vacant waterfront, and the failure to build the Bills stadium in Cheektowaga as a domed stadium. That being said, the ships have long left the dock, and it is way too late to rectify either situation. Fix the Ralph and move on.
  6. Well...at least he's picking a tackle. Not the right one, but a tackle nonetheless. Bobbie Massie is probably a better pick than he is, though. I'm certain Reiff and Martin are better picks as well.
  7. I'm not sure that the likely cost is a first and second, but it would be well worth it for a lineman of Kalil's caliber (calibre?) He sounds like a first rate BPA and probably the best non-quarterback player in the draft.
  8. I start out with the assumption that we have NO viable left tackle and that there are three good choices for left tackle, two of which Reiff and Martin, should be available at 10. I see Cordy Glenn as a real risk pick, and not worthy of a ten (we might be daring and trade down and pick him with a later pick...but that would be a reach for a position as critical to this team as left tackle.) So I voted for Glenn. I think all of the others ould be okay if we want to write off another season.
  9. long article. Interesting comparison of Cordy Glenn to Mike Williams. I kind of had the same opinion. Reiff may be a reach for him, but most every mock draft I see has him targeted between 7 and 15, certainly in the top 20 players available. Martin looks good as well, although I am concerned about the strength issue. I just don't see going wide receiver in the first. We could have jerry rice and randy moss and andre reed getting open, but it doesnt' do any good if the qb is on his ass.
  10. Like most I am not all THAT impressed with Cordy Glenn. He can play numerous positions...fine. I'd love him if he could play gaurd and tackle at the same time. Unfortunately that isn't the case.... He is one of four or five good prospects. Weaknesses? From draftek Weaknesses - Struggles with speed rushers, may be relegated to ROT or OG at next level - Can get lazy with technique, as he overpowers college competition - Needs to improve hand placement after initial punch - Inconsistent on initial drive off the ball (quickness) After Williams I'm a little tired of lazy tackles. The move down to Kalil at 5 sounds like a gift from heaven and we should definitely go for it. If not...go with Reiff or possibly Martin.
  11. We at the moment do not have an even adequate prospect to start the season at left tackle. Assuming we aren't trading for one, I would think our first pick would be to get the best one available and not count on a round 3,4 or 5 to carry the offense, as that is what the left tackle does at least as far as a legitimate passing game goes. The first round pick should be the best left tackle prospect available, be that Reiff (my choice) Martin or Cordy. I like McCants if he makes it to the fourth or fifth round and think we might want to draft him as well.
  12. Tackle, OLB and WR are the big positions of need. I think we can address all three in the draft given that the draft is heavy in quality wide receivers (quality...not franchise) I would draft a WR in round 3 and a second in a later round. As there are only two (okay maybe three)potential starters going to be available, I think we go tackle at one (Rieff/Martin) and an OLB in round two. Punters are extremely valuable but we should be taking one in the later rounds to see whether he can be a replacement for Moorman.
  13. I disagree on Glen. I think he has limited LT experience in college and is projected as an RT or Gaurd prospect by some. In any event most see him as going between 20 and 25 well after Reiff and Martin. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1632069
  14. number one is a left tackle. Trade up to get Kalil, go with Reiff or stretch or trade downfor Martin. I like your number two pick.
  15. Wasn't Janikowski a first round pick. I think Ray Guy might have also been a first round pick. So its not an impossible option. In our case I suspect we have some 24 other positions in worse need than punter or kicker...well..maybe not one of our defensive ends and one of our wide receivers...
  16. Reiff ia his number 10? hmmm..what number do we pick in the first round? What is our position of need?
  17. what a way to start a day..coffee made out of ferret crap and eggs over easy bathed in little boy p***. What bad can happen after that?
  18. geez ditka...you better make a move soon..she's getting older by the day. Wanta eat the fruit when its ripe, not rotten.
  19. I agree. If Blackmon or Kalil somehow slipped to 10 they would be an obvious choice. While we're at it why don't we pretend Luck and RG will slip to 10?
  20. I'll kind of miss him. He was a valuable guy to have when he wasn't hurt. Wish him well.
  21. Look at the record...a 6 win season and a 4 win season versus three 7 win seasons and a 6 win season. We aren't talking great coaching by any means, but I gotta side with Jauron when we compare the two.
  22. Actually I did NOT say he shouldn't be considered for the job. I'd probably be happy to take him in round 2 or round 3. His criminal record and alocohol issues are what I said they were...issues. They would take him out of the running for a number 10 spot, that and the fact that I don't think he's a number 10 talent and that I think we have bigger needs and there is better talent available for a position of critical need. I would take Rieff for sure and maybe Martin over Floyd.
  23. depends on where you are. In Tennessee underage drinking is a misdemeanor. Maybe being twice the legal limit for drinking is a safe activity where you come from, but Stallworth's blood-alcohol level after the crash was .126,while Floyd was .19. If comparisons are going to be made, I think the only difference is Floyd was lucky enough not to kill someone.
