  1. If you want one play I'd have to make that Hagood Clarke, who was a safety with Saimes. With a minute or less left and Houston holding the ball, Blanda decided to throw for a first down. Clarke intercepts, runs for a touchdown and the Bills continue to the Afl championship. Add Hagood Clarke to the mix.
  2. I'm from the play the season in front of you school. Or as George Allen used to say.."The future is now"
  3. The Vietnamese beer (called Bah Me Bahm) was the Vietnamese 99. The Thai Beer, Singh Ha...was and is a magnificent Beer. Erynthered and I will be drinking it tomorrow sometime!
  4. Keep Bledsoe and draft a killer tight end. Add one more offensive lineman and we would have had a Bledsoe offense that would have taken us to the playoffs.
  5. Way back when I was in law school we had a study session poker night and the host bought the beer. Although many of them now are making a lot of money, no one was rich at the time and we found a cheap beer that we really liked...Rolling Rock. Recently I noticed that the Rock is not a bargain brew anymore so apparently a lot of people must have taken a liking to it.
  6. Some truly great football players and a lot of Buffalo Bills on the all time AFL team.
  7. He's a terrific draft choice, has delivered very well and has a great future ahead of him. I don't see any reason that he can't become our number one receiver. I still think we ought to keep Moulds if at all possible. Having lots of good receivers is not a bad thing at all.
  8. John O'Reilly hoisted his beer and said, "Here's to spending the rest of >me life, between the legs of me wife!" > >That won him the top prize at the pub for the best toast of the night! > >He went home and told his wife, Mary, "I won the prize for the Best >toast of the night" >She said, "Aye, did ye now. And what was your toast?" >John said, "Here's to spending the rest of me life, sitting in church >beside me wife." > >"Oh, that is very nice indeed, John!" Mary said. >The next day, Mary ran into one of John's drinking buddies on the street >corner. The man chuckled leeringly and said, "John won the prize the >other night at the pub with a toast about you, Mary." > >She said, "Aye, he told me, and I was a bit surprised myself. You >know, he's only been there twice in the last four years. Once he fell >asleep, and the other time I had to pull him by the ears to make him >come."
  9. Considering their failure to anticipate what was coming, failure to deal with what came, failure to provide meaningful relief when it came, widespread corruption in the aftermath, an inquest sounds like a pretty good idea to me. I don't think Brownie did a hell of a job, don't think Chartoff did a hell of a job, and I think a LOT of money was poorly spent and we should try to figure out how not to make the same mistakes in the future. Making someone look bad would not be a really difficult assignment. Kinding of like shooting...oh...never mind.
  10. Not familiar with him, but I'm a great fan of Wilson Pickett!
  11. We had a little snow in the morning, but it was over 55 degrees by mid afternoon here in East Tennessee...
  12. From Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame. Guess he was a two way player (fullback, not quarterback) at Michigan. I gotta go with George, Tony a close second. An All-American at defensive back and fullback for Michigan State, the Spartan MVP in 1961 and 1962 and a member of the Spartan all-time defensive team, George Saimes joined the Buffalo Bills in 1963. He quickly developed into an outstanding safety and became a key member of the outstanding Bills defensive squads, which produced AFL Championships in 1964 and 1965. In that 1964 season, George had a career-high six interceptions and earned the first of his five AFL All-Star Game appearances. George achieved All-AFL honors five times, and he is a member of the all-time AFL Defensive Team. Saimes anchored a hard-hitting Buffalo secondary during a Bills career which lasted until 1969. His career spanned the best of times and worst of times of the franchise, and his contributions have been recognized by selection to the Bills' Silver Anniversary All-Star team. Saimes joined former Bills Booker Edgerson and Coach Lou Saban in Denver in 1970 and concluded his NFL career as a Bronco in 1972. Since 1984, Saimes has served as director of college scouting for the Washington Redskins. The high degree of success enjoyed by the Redskins in the past decade is surely a reflection on George's considerable scouting talents and contributions to that organization. 13. I think we will probably get Ngata in the first, an O-Lineman in the second, and there will be some good tight ends and good O and D Linemen left in the third. A quarterback in the fourth? Maybe, but not a high priority.
  14. If a better quarterback falls into our laps between now and next season without wasting a draft choice or spending salary cap money...fine. However we have a lot more problems than quarterback that we should be spending our money and draft picks on this year. We don't solve our line problems it won't matter who is the quarterback.
  15. Don't know much about girlie girl quail hunting (talk about gay!) but as an ex cop I'll be willing to bet the reason they didn't let the deputy sheriff talk with him on Saturday night was an effort to sober the guy up. Guess he learned a little something from Chappaquiddick.
  16. That is why I thought so highly of Seymour. Costa, I believe was in the same mold. Depending on the team you have blocking takes on more and more priority for that position. I think Costa was a Notre Dame guy.
  17. George Saimes...a converted quarterback, by the way.
  18. Silly me. I thought it was about producing winning football teams
  19. Yeah...jauron and Tice Vanilla seems to be in this year. Hell...it seems to be in every year!
  20. Forgot about McKellar. Thought he was pretty darn good.
  21. Congrats...Sometimes people talk of something they love as something they would die for..I've always thought of my kids as something I live for. You're in for a treat!
  22. We're not that far from being a contender. Pay him what it takes and let's move on. If we think we are far from being a contender and want a four or five year rebuilding plan...let him go. I think we aren't in that bad a situation. Keep Moulds and Clements and build for next season. As far as JP goes, our working assumption should be that given an offensive line (our top priority) he should be able to do the job.

Paul Costa was a pretty good tight end as well in the late sixties. The problem with evaluation of TE's is to factor in their effectiveness as blockers.
