  1. We are not going to find a receiver better than Moulds. I think we should keep him if at all possible.
  2. I thought the western gay theme with all the cowboys lookingly lovingly at each other (Victor McLaughlin and John Wayne? hilarious!). In 1948 Leslie Fiedler (a former teacher of mine at UB who just died) wrote a much ballyhoo'd essay arguing that most of American lit was a homoerotic episode -Natty Bumpo and Chingachkook (sp?), Huck and Jim, Lone Ranger and Tonto, etc.) Last night I had the opportunity to watch what was in my opinion the best western of all time, the Magnificient Seven. It differed from the Japanese film on which the story was based in the gay themes among the seven.) Dam...Brokeback Mountain is going to make us all take another look at Cisco and Pancho!
  3. Sounds about right. If it weren't for the fact that we need a defensive tackle and Ngata is the obvious choice, it would be a VERY interesting pick. Huff, White, Davis, maybe Cutler, Edwards are all very attractive at 8. But Ngata is the obvious and best choice for us.
  4. whew...even for Bush apologists you guys are unbelievable. UAE has been financing schools for terrorism for years. the UAE has been anything but helpful in the so called "war" against terrorism and by any rational account (leaving you Bushistas off the hook) has been the chief financier of terrorism. If you think letting these clowns take over management of the ports has nothing to do with security, think again. The portmaster in Odessa under Kuchma reported paid a 5 million dollar cash bribe to get the position, and that isn't anywhere near as lucrative a port (or target, if you wish) than those our friends in Dubai want to infiltrate. Maybe Bush and his brother Bandar have bigger fish to fry.
  5. Oh...and where did those folks who crashed into the WTC come from? Thailand? Norway?
  6. people get to be free agents because the folks who know them best have chosen not to sign them. I wouldn't want to think I'm going to get two defensive tackles an offensive tackle and a guard out of free agency alone. Our first picks in the draft should really be need picks.
  7. Sure...I suppose letting a bunch of Arabs fly into the World Trade Center was a good start? Let alone the mishandling of Katrina, the record deficit, the disclosure of classified information by the Scooter, and the rest of the stellar work of that doofus president. Maybe he can let Hezbolah handle Miami, Hamas handle Boston and since his buddies in Al Qaeda know New York so well he can put them in charge of that port?
  8. Pick a defensive tackle (ngata comes to mind) Pick a quality tackle or gaurd, or trade down. and get what you need. Huff is a legit first round pick (mine in the first mock draft for Miami, in fact)...but he isn't going to improve our defense in any significant way considering our need for Defensive Tackles, and he isn't going to help our anemic offense. Not a good number 8 for us.
  9. Than ANY Arab State? Hell...let's put Syria in charge of our ports! You neo cons are awfully chummy with the Arab States these days.
  10. You may be right about WM. Once there is an offensive line we will know a lot more about WM and JP. Maybe Michael Huff can play left tackle?
  11. Sounds good to me. Let's pick a back up punter in the second round.
  12. Don't worry...if Rumsfeld and the other Bushistas pursue this like have Osama Bin Laden, they'll take three years to FIND the internet, let alone subvert it.
  13. Simply put you have to look at the team and ascertain weak points and strong points. Where there is a GLARING weak point (Defensive Tackle, Offensive Tackle) you should give serious thought to addressing it. Hence most people (I think) are looking at Ngata and some offensive linemen as where we should go. I also think there won't be much around at 8 worth deviating from that idea (If Reggie Bush dropped down to 8, I'd think seriously about deviating.) If we didn't address the line needs we would not go anywhere. It is as simple as that.
  14. He is one of the best safeties I have ever seen. He was playing corner only because of a team need, and was seen by most a sure first rounder at either position. Team captain. His injury was felt as if we had lost Peyton Manning when Manning was playing. Assuming he is healed he will be a catch for whoever gets him. From what I'm hearing about him at the combine he is shooting up the charts. Good for him, but not so good for my hope that we would steal him in the third. Our first and second are for big fat nasty guys who can man the treanches.
  15. The Philadelphia Eagles seem to be the best bet given their needs, playoff possibilities and available monies. I'm not ready to give up on our getting him to stay in Buffalo when all is said and done.
  16. If marv thinks he's going to find light defensive tackles to fly to the ball, he might think about the light defensive halfbacks who are flying by his light defensive tackles for touchdowns. If he doesn't stop the running game (and light defensive tackles aren't the type to do that.) he'll have a tenure shorter and less successful than TD.
  17. Definitely not a buy, unless you want to see Jake Gyllenhal running around in a Santa jockstrap. If that turns you on..get Brokeback Mountain.
  18. Redneck challenge Body: We are sick and tired of hearing about how dumb people are in the South, and we challenge any so-called smart Yankee to take this exam: 1. Calculate the smallest limb diameter on a persimmon tree that will support a 10 pound possum. 2. Which of these cars will rust out the quickest when placed on blocks in your front yard? (A) '65 Ford Fairlane ( B) '69 Chevrolet Chevelle © '64 Pontiac GTO. 3. If your uncle builds a still which operates at a capacity of 20 gallons of shine produced per hour, how many car radiators are required to condense the product? 4. A woodcutter has a chainsaw which operates at 2700 RPM. The densityof the pine trees in the plot to be harvested is 470 per acre. The plot is 2.3 acres in size. The average tree diameter is 14 inches. How many Budweisers will be drunk before the trees are cut down? 5. A front porch is constructed of 2x8 pine on 24-inch centers with a field rock foundation. The span is 8 feet and the porch length is 16 feet. The porch floor is 1-inch rough sawn pine. When the porch collapses, how many dogs will be killed? 6. A man owns a Georgia house and 3.7 acres of land in a hollow with an average slope of 15%. The man has five children. Can each of his grown children place a mobile home on the man's land and still have enough property for their electric appliances to sit out front? 7. A 2-ton truck is overloaded and proceeding 900 yards down a steep slope on a secondary road at 45 MPH. The brakes fail. Given average traffic conditions on secondary roads, what is the probability that it will strike a vehicle with a muffler? 8. With a gene pool reduction of of 7.5% per generation, how long will it take a town which has been bypassed by the Interstate to breed a country-western singer? I betcha thought that there test was gonna be an easy one, didn't ya? It's okay if'n ya didn't do all that well. Just goes to show ya... There's a hole heap of things that big city book-learning don't prepare ya for in this life. As an added bonus for taking the "REDNECK CHALLENGE", here's some southerly advice that may come in handy down the road a piece... Next time you are too drunk to drive, walk to the nearest pizza shop and place an order. When they go to deliver it, catch a ride home with them.
  19. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't a 3-4 mean a lot of good linebackers ( I think we have two very good linebackers, but after that we are thin.), a very large and dominating nose tackle of the Smerlas mode (and conceivably Adams MIGHT have fit that bill) and two bigger than average defensive ends? If that is the case I think we are one of the last teams to consider a 3-4. We would be drafting and trading and free agenting our butts off to accomodate personnel needs. I think the 4-3 is fine, but in our case we didn't have the 4 part of the deal we needed. A free agent, Ngata and we will be okay in the 4-3.
  20. You are going to believe Poojer over your sainted mother? Sure and begorrah boy you and Poojer will have time to be discussin' such a thing...while the two of your are burnin for all eternity in hell!!!! How could a man disrespect his fine Irish catholic mother that carried him around without a complaint in the world for nine months, that wiped his sh------- arse when he was an ugly little baby, kissed you when you were sick...all for POOJER and his worrying about BJ's and meaty burritos? Glory to be god should the nuns get wind of your attitude young man. Kneeling on your knuckles and a few raps with the ruler should put the proper amount of respect back into you!!!
  21. I am a believer in JP at least through the next season. THAT being said, the trade you describe would be a fantastic benefit to us. I just can't believe NO could offer it. Again..NO did give up its entire draft pick selection to get Ricky Williams.
  22. Good negotiation. Many don't know that you can negotiate with contractors. They get nothing until you give it to them. Give them the fair price tell them why its fair and let them make the argument for more. If they say $55.00 an hour, negotiate. If they say it was (as in your case) more hours than reasonably needed tell them and give them what you think is fair. The shoe is on their foot to either accept it or sue. Suing often means THEY have to deal with lawyers, who can teach them a thing or two about overbilling. New York for instance used to have a law REQUIRING that corporations be represented by counsel. The widow thing is a nice touch.
  23. Barnard, Runyan, Hutchinson. Boy if we got those three and Ngat we would be in high cotton!
  24. That was my first thought. However we don't have the defensive ends or the linebackers (quality or numbers) for it. Ironically the guy who came closest to filling the bill for a 3-4 if we were headed in that direction was Sam Adams. I think the theory is to create a big pot of money and go after some top free agents. Ngata as one DT..and probably three free agent signings and some interesting picking in the draft.
