  1. Amen...make plans to get away from there. There's your job (and all those hours) and then there's the second job of dealing with the work environment that is not going to get any better. Get the resume out and get away from there.
  2. Yeah..that pesky media..wonder how they got us 9 trillion in debt and into an unwarranted and unwinnable war in Iraq and the bebacle of Katrina (god forbid these clowns are going to walk us through bird flu). Great Job Brownie!!!
  3. eez paul..Jack never handed off to OJ. He handed off to Cookie Gilchrist!
  4. Restaurant in the Drake hotel is outstanding. Palmer House for tea. Walter Payton had a place called America's Bar which was a lot of fun, but that was a few years ago. Nice Jazz place called Red-Headed Piano Bar. Could tell you a few stories.
  5. I'd be willing to bet anty amount of money the case will be overturned on appeal, just as you say. The judge was just making his point. The basis will be an abuse of discretion.
  6. Yeah. Given the way the conservatives are efficiently running our country and the world!
  7. I heard on NFL radio that he had an astounding vertical leap for a defensive lineman as well. We'd be nuts not to draft him.
  8. As long as they don't have those disgusting long necks!
  9. Davis, Lewis, Pope, Fasano....Davis is the best but Lewis and Pope aren't far behind and in my opinion Pope would be the one best suited for the Bills (he is a great tight end and VERY good blocker.) Nice passel of tight ends to choose from.
  10. whoops...Ngata in the Defensive tackle department.....
  11. That would remain to be seen. I'm okay with the idea that Bush, Leinart, Ferguson and probably Hawk won't be available that Williams probably won't be available. But I kind of see Davis and Huff as being available. Not that it would bother me if Davis weren't available. There are a whole bunch of very good tight ends in this draft. Tight End and Defensive Tackle seem to be very deep. That being said...Ngata is head and shoulders above the pack in the tight end department while Davis isn't all that much better than the next four or five tight ends, in my humble opinion.
  12. Look at the roster. A Defensive Tackle will make a difference. A safety might make a difference. A tight end might make a difference. A quarterback will not make a difference. A linebacker will not make much difference. We need a Defensive Tackle and if we can't get that we need the best TE available or the best Safety available. I would also say we need an OT and an OG but I don't know of anyone of first round caliber who will be available. When you win the superbowl I suppose you can pick the best player available. When you are in our boat you pick the best player available who can help you now.
  13. with free agency and the limited "life span" of professional football players not expecting and working for success in the immediate future means not working toward success at all. I love it when someone says we shouldn't worry about addressing this seasons needs in free agency or the draft this year so we can save cap money or draft for a 2010 super bowl bid. As George Allen used to say "the future is now" Fix what's wrong with this team this year and make a playoff bid next season. Bring in a couple of offensive linemen, a run stuffing DT, a good safety...and go for the gold. Timid teams have a nice permanent home...at the bottom of the heap.
  14. I think he is a top ten pick, like a number of players...I just don't think he is OUR top ten pick. I could see us picking Ngata Williams (although the consensus is he won't drop this far) or maybe Davis or Huff if we can't trade down. Young and Hawk are wonderful, but not what we need right now, thank you very much.
  15. my top ten: 1. Seven Samurai 2. High Noon 3. Godfather 4. Farewell my Concubine 5. Godfather 2 6. Apocalypse Now 7. Bridge on the River Kwai 8. Battleship Potemkin 9. Ran (Kurosawa) 10. Psycho (Hitchcock) I feel badly not having John Ford in there...so include The Searchers or My Darling Clementine as runners up.
  16. Ilike Brody Croyle...if we didn't have such glaring needs elsewhere I'd love to take a chance on him at the third round...But I think we will have to be stocking up on big fat mean guys.
  17. How on earth does any of this have to do with Drew Bledsoe's integrity? He didn't pick T.O. and he doesn't have much choice about having to play with him. I never had any problem with Bledsoe's integrity and think he handled things pretty well here in Buffalo.
  18. Did you post their theme song? We're a movin' on up, (We're a movin on up.) To the east side. (Mo-vin on up.) To a de-luxe apartment, In the sky-. Mo-vin' on up (Mo-vin on up.) To the east side, (Mo-vin on up.) We finally got a piece of the pie. Fish don't fry in the kitchen, A beans don't burn on the grill. Took a whole lot of trying Just to get up that hill. Now we're up in the big leagues, Gettin our turn at bat. As long as we live It's you and me baby. There ain't nothing wrong with that.
  19. nice move is Denver is agreeable. I suspect it will be a day of draft deal at about the 6 or 7 pick when teams look at who is available at 8 and how badly they want (Young? Cutler? Hawk? Davis? or some inexplicable slippage of another player in the top 5 like Williams (unlikely) or the Brick (impossible.) Interesting first day and I think your idea is a real possibility and makes a lot of sense. Otherwise...Ngata.
  20. Sounds like a run of the mill Florida relationship!
  21. dumping donohue and mularkey. The jauron Levy appointment is puzzling, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt.
  22. The patriots must love him. Actually he and Hutch were the major additions to the offensive line available in free agency. It would have been a huge improvement to sign either of them. Not the end of the world that we didn't, and in fact I couldn't have imagined either Seattle (although they did let Hutch go to the Vikings) or the Patsies letting either one of them go.
  23. sounds like a plan. Sign him up, bring him on and let's get moving toward the superbowl.
  24. I've never heard it put that way before, but I sure agree with it. That Marv is a pretty smart guy. hmmm...guess it will be Ngata then!
