  1. Hell eryn...I thought taterhill had found your little black book!
  2. I rented a great five bedroom house with a one bedroom basement apartment on Tybee Island and housed 10 adults and about 6 teenagers. First rate beach house from Tybee Rentals on the Main St, just off the beach. Tybee has its own St. Pat's day beach parade which is more than a little wild. The college rugby teams (men and women) hang out there and there is a great rugby tournament that weekend. The parade is terrific and the partying is truly unbelievable. Restaurants are first rate and legion. As the year goes on I'll provide more. No better place in the world to spend St. Pat's.
  3. Double Tight End set can be very very effective and I'd like to see the Bills try it on appropriate occasions. I think the Bills will almost certainly get the best athelete available at at least 15 positions given that only seven players will be drafted in front of them. I think they need the best player available at any of several defensive and offensive line positions and maybe at safety or tight end. We are not in a bad position in this draft.
  4. Egypt...cruise along the Nile. Inexpensive, wonderful and romantic. Istanbul and Anatolia are another possibility. Lots of beaches and great siteseeing.
  5. I see us picking in the top ten next year. I think for us to finish above that would be a GREAT job by ML and DJ. Ironic. Last year I thought anything short of a playoff berth would be a lousy season. We are definitely rebuilding judging from the players we let go.
  6. Nah...its kind of fun to read the circle jerk reactions to issues these days by the denizens of the far right. Either read PPP or listen to Sean Hannity...same difference.
  7. I think we left money on the table and talked ourselves into a bargaining position that was less than optimal. That being said we did free up a lot of money, got rid of a aging (but very good) player who was more trouble than he was worth, and got a fifth round pick. Overall its an acceptable outcome but we should learn a little about keeping our mouths shut and maximizing our bargaining position in these kinds of situations.
  8. Here I was thinking Jason Allen might slip into our grasp in the third round and some people are putting into the top ten. So much for flying under the radar.
  9. They'll be pissing, scratching their asses...and wondering!
  10. No matter how you cut it the difference between a fifth and fourth rounder is 32 players out of a limited pool (especially at rounds four and five.) Good negotiation skills should have easily resulted in a third rounder (64 players).
  11. The Bills are at fault for their own bargaining position. They didn't have what negotiators call a BATNA, or Best Alternative to a Negotiating Agreement. They made it clear they were NOT seriously considering keeping him and the teams wanting him were looking for an in before he was released by the Bills. The Bills should have continued negotiations with the idea that unless they got a third round or better pick they would keep him for a year even at the old contract, and been vocal about that option. Hence we have a BATNA where we would walk away and keep an All Pro receiver for one more year. I believe we would have ended up with a third round or better. Instead we made it quite clear that if they waited EM would be released and there would be nothing to give up other than the cost of signing EM. We were lucky to get a fifth under the circumstances that the Bills themselves created.
  12. Actually...and I hate to bring this up...but many of the players in the NFL are in it for the money. I'm sure we all would like to think they stay out of loyalty, or whatever...but its all about the Benjamins. Houston came up with the bucks. For Houston its a good deal as it gives Carr the beginnings of a very good receiving corps. The Bills quit on Moulds as much as Moulds quit on the Bills. Best of luck to him, but it was time for him and the Bills to part company. Lets look to the future.
  13. Been reading this first pick posts and see about four or five good choices, including Davis. But I still have to say Ngata is the way to go if we don't trade down.
  14. Maaybe if I'm nice they'll invite me back to the nazi board!
  15. Happy Birthday...getting old is a B word isn't it?
  16. TD made some good decisions (Bledsoe, McGahee, Evans, being some...) Made some bad decisions. In the final analysis however, he was the GM. GM's get you to the playoffs or they don't. He took a playoff ready team and reduced it to a team that is deservedly in the bottom quarter of NFL teams. Marv Levy has to turn that around. Give him three years and if he doesn't get you a playoff team, he goes as well. I find the head coach decision disturbing, our lack of real play in the free agency race (so far) puzzling...But ML is a great coach, a Hall of Fame guy, and one smart cookie. I'm more than willing to give him a lot of room to maneuver.
  17. eez...is he working in the Bush administration too? He'll probably be stealing from Target next.
  18. I think having the folks in charge of protecting our national security and taking care of disasters getting their asses arrested for shoplifting at Target and soliciting kids for sex kind of roasts me a little bit. But hey...that's just me.
  19. 10 picks and a lot of money to sign them. I think its pretty obvious ML is looking to the future. I thought we might get a fourth for Moulds but freeing up the money and a high fifth pick is about as good as we were going to get. Moulds has a couple of good years left but its time to let Evans be our number one and to give RP a chance. Things are going pretty good, although we might get a little more active on the free agency front.
  20. Heck..we felt that way about Mike Williams too. Sometimes you get Mike Williams...sometimes you get Bruce Smith. The guy has the talent to do the job in a way that nobody else in this draft offers.
  21. That's pretty much a concern with anyone you pick. He will or he won't. But we certainly know he CAN be a major force in an area where we are weak (not just weak..dam near non-existant.) I think we take whatever chance we take with him. Remember the defensive end with a weight and attitude problem we worried about wasting our number one on...Bruce Smith?
  22. Hey!!!! Congrats...Baby girls are very strong. Right out of the womb they know how to wrap their dad's around their little fingers.
